Even though our dog was pretty matted, and other groomers might have insisted we shave her into a weimerauner, this girl took the time to save some of her beautiful coat and retain the poodle look. I searched long & hard before finding this group of women. At the time of my move to Salem I was using a groomer in Eugene, and would drive him all the way down and back, because I don't trust just anyone with my furry friends. Eventually, I found Laura and Carol (who groomed Gizzy at the time), and was thrilled to not have to keep making that drive. They loved him as much as I did (he was 16 when we started there and 18 when he passed), and mourned along with me when he died a year ago. The minute I got a new rescue dog, I knew where I was taking him. Beckett came up from a life as a street dog in Mexico. Carol has helped his coat grow back (he had to be shaved before they brought him to the US because he was filthy and matted), and taken great care of him. I have tried Laura's Laundramutt five times now... The first one was great. Every time after that was awful. The second time all they did was shave my dog! I have a cocker... why would you do that? The third time they missed spots and charged me extra because he had a few mats. And the forth time, they missed didn't to his ears at all. The fifth time they cut him! They didn't even tell me. I noticed when I was petty him when I got him home, he was licking his belling and it was a bleeding cut. I don't know why I kept going. I think it was only because it was the one I was familiar with. I normally don't leave reviews and I'm sorry to do so, but I thought I would share my experience. read more

I gave this place a couple chances because it's close to my house and I'm new in the area but they were a huge disappointment. If you care about your pet do not take them here. The place is complete chaos. There's always a handful of dogs running around in the area where they're supposed to be grooming your pet. My dog was even snapped and growled at by one of the dogs on the loose and I'm pretty sure it was one of the employees dogs because it is there every time I've come in. The cut was mediocre at best. I'm in the service industry so I totally understand sometimes people are busy and stuff can come up and service isn't always the best but the cut, customer service, and general atmosphere of this place are always consistently bad. If you're looking for a quality cut and great service try Carrie's country grooming. She does great work and she books like a regular hairstylist does so your dog isn't sitting for hours in a loud and stressful environment. read more

I really don't understand the other negative review here. We have had two dogs that we tried taking to many places. Laura's was the best price wise, the dogs liked her, and she even did small trainings to teach them while she had them for grooming. Yes, there is a bit of chaos here, but the dogs have always been nice. Laura obviously has a passion for dogs as she is always wanting to help us with training and suggestions. A lot of times she is teaching us things to do that most groomers won't tell you until you pay for the classes. Her knowledge of pedigree and all the intricacies of animals blows me away. read more

They are absolutely the best in Salem. I have been bringing my PomChi Zappa to them for years. They ALWAYS do such an amazing job of transforming him from a fluffy, fuzz ball to a superbly groomed great looking pup!!! He smells great for quite a while afterwards too. I just called to make an appointment for my dog and saw the previous review. I felt I needed to say that Laura is the only groomer I will trust my dog with. Laura has been grooming her since she was a puppy and never have I had an unsatisfactory result. I have always found Laura to be knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and most of all, a superior groomer. I love the fact that she has other dogs in her care, that only speaks to the trust that others place in her as well as her capacity for caring for dogs. I have two dogs, a Siberian Husky and a Coton de Tulear. The big one has a bad hip and the little one is a bit timid. I have been taking both of them to Laura's for a few years now and have never been disappointed. She and her staff are always careful with the big one's hip and are extremely gentle with the little one. Both dogs always come out of there looking great and are very happy. I am very picky with my dogs and certainly wouldn't bring them to a place that made them unhappy or fearful. It may seem chaotic to some people, with all the dogs around, but to me it looks like a busy and happy dog groomers. Of course there are times when dogs-will-be-dogs, and growl at each other. However, I have always see the dogs under control and the staff are always cheerful. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Laura's and encourage you to give a try. They are good with the dogs and will tell you if they see something that you should be aware of with your pet. I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more
