The grounds are kept meticulously well-groomed and the rustic charm of the big house took me back to a different era. If you are looking for a romantic venue south of Seattle, I highly recommend Laurel Creek. LC is, by far, the most gorgeous venue I've been to in the South Sound...plus, Kirsten and her team are absolutely amazing! My husband and I found Laurel Creek four days after our engagement and we're so glad we did. They only have one Saturday left in September (which we snagged). From the moment we took the first tour, Kirsten was friendly, honest, outgoing, and extremely easy to work with. Through the planning process, Kirsten was a lifesaver. She worked with my mom and me to bring our vision to life, from using their gorgeous farm tables to renting chairs to match. The pre-wedding planning session with the walk-through was also a huge help. Never feel like you are asking too many questions - Kirsten is so sweet and quick to respond and she offers great advice and support! For an outdoor space that is the home of many weddings throughout the year, I couldn't have been more impressed with how everything looked on our wedding day (September 30). The grounds are perfectly kept and the garden florals she chooses are gorgeous and neutral enough to match everyone's wedding colors. This didn't deter us from having an amazing time, but there are a few things to note -- you must use a venue-approved caterer (she gives four options...Snuffin's is AMAZING, by the way) and kegs are not permitted. Ladies also must have their hair and makeup done offsite. All in all, I can't sing the praises of Laurel Creek Manor enough! My husband and I were very impressed. Our niece, and her new husband, had a beautiful wedding and this venue was lovely. The staff was very nice and the catering company did an outstanding job. The one complaint I had was the steak. Overcooked. But, from what I understand, that is usually the case with alot of caterers. The salmon was delicious as was the rest of the food. read more

Gorgeous place. You guys take such good care of that beautiful home and gardens. A reflection of your caring family and attention to detail. And yet, even always improving it! I am sure your new gazebo type building will be pretty, but the tent with it's draping and chandeliers is perfect until that is built. We loved the charm of this big house, the history in it, the blooms outside, and careful thought to layout for a spectacular wedding! Everything you need is here for a perfect wedding or event. Parking is great, there's a playground, an arbor, tent, perfect patio for the bar, fountains, flowers, trees, fields, a barn, garden nooks, juliet balcony, just so much that make your day easy and exciting. Everything they have you can use or rent is perfect. The wine barrel bar is beautiful, they have helpful sheppard's hooks, an easel, propane heaters, more barrels for cocktail tails or whatever, small pop up tent for dj or anything, then an abundance of tables of many sizes (even gorgeous long farm tables for that boho-chic look that were made by a past groom), and nice white folding chairs with cushion bottoms. And I'm sure I am forgetting somethings. There are four caterers you pick from that work with Laurel Creek Manor and they have a lot worked out between them to get all your set up and transitioning done with such ease, so there is a reason there is a short list. We sampled with 3 out of the 4 and it was a really hard decision to make. We went with Act 3 and everyone was impressed! The venue is on point! The owners are wonderful and a family affair. My husband and I got married at Laurel Creek this past July and we are SO glad we did at this absolutely breathtaking venue! We had such a memorable experience with Kirsten and Al from the very beginning...starting with the venue tour. When we were first looking at venues online and which ones to visit, Laurel Creek was high on our list. Unfortunately, they only do tours during weekends/weeknights when there is no event going on (they book up pretty fast so not many days they can do tours). When we were able to schedule a tour (two other couples were also there with us), we were luckily able to be quick and reserve our wedding date. Fair warning: if you are even considering Laurel Creek as your venue, book a tour ASAP!!! We had our tour in early May 2015 looking to reserve for summer of 2016 and in early May, they were ALREADY completely booked for all Saturdays and most Sundays for the summer! I am a very organized planner myself so this definitely caught me surprise they were already booked so far in advance. Regardless, we were able to book a date in the end. Throughout the next year as details of our big day finalized, I would be in constant communication with Kirsten about the MANY questions I had about logistics, etc. and she was so accommodating to answer EACH of my questions! Trust me...I had a ton. She would always respond to my emails within a day which I greatly appreciated. Kirsten is amazing and her helping you plan your wedding at Laurel Creek saves you the trouble of even hiring a wedding planner yourself! We didn't have a planner OR coordinator for our wedding and everything went SO smoothly, mainly because of the amazing job Kirsten and her family did for us! So to make a long story short, if you are looking for a beautiful outdoor venue for your wedding, do yourself a big favor and check out Laurel Creek Manor. Wow. My best friend got married here in July of 2011. She had a beautiful outdoors ceremony and the reception was awesome. The whole place was beautifully manicured and there was a lot of attention to detail. Although, this wouldn't be the right place for me to get married- it had a lot of characteristics that I appreciate. Pulling up you're blowing away by how pretty it is, and the parking was easy. The staff stayed out of the way but were on top of everything. Even when one of the ladies toilets broke, someone was on it RIGHT away. Everything was spotless and the landscaping flawless. Wedding: August 30th 2013 Where do we start.... We LOVE Kirsten and Laurel Creek Manor!! It was the perfect place for our wedding, which made our wedding the most perfect day!! When looking through the millions of wedding venues in Seattle, we initially were hesitant to look at Laurel Creek, since it was so far away from where we live (Shoreline). I convinced my fiancé to head down for a visit with Al (one of the owners), and we fell in love with Laurel Creek! It was everything we didn't realize we were looking for... English gardens (I was born in England) and an Italian manor house (my husband and I are planning on living in Italy for awhile) - it was almost like it was meant to be! We ended up flipping a coin between LCM and another venue we really liked - every time (against statistical odds!), it landed on the other venue, but it just didn't feel right, so we went against the coin and went with Laurel Creek! And we're so glad we did! The grounds are beautiful, Kirsten is amazing, and we had the best day ever! Kirsten and her family suffered a loss this summer, but she still was professional, friendly, and always smiling. Throughout our year of planning, she was very fast emailing back, answered all my many questions, and on our wedding day, handled everything so smoothly, I had no idea anything had gone wrong! So many of our guests told us it was the best wedding they had gone to, and that the grounds were perfectly suited for us. The word "family" was mentioned many times, and when we think of Laurel Creek, that's the word that sums it all up - they have created a family business and treat their wedding parties as family members. The contract is quite strict, but for good reason - it protects the beauty of the venue. We only wish we could have extended the time frame later, as we were having so much fun! Our only issue was not towards LCM directly, but Act 3, one of their preferred caterers... We weren't happy with their service throughout the year and had some issues that arose on the day, which was the icing on the cake. The only reason we mention this on our review of LCM is as a suggestion for a larger catering selection/representation of the caterers from Laurel Creek. Act 3 is the most popular caterer at LCM and the only one who showed to the Seattle Wedding expo and the Bridal Bash, hosted by LCM, so we felt it must be the "right" choice. We were pretty disappointed by their service. We would definitely recommend Laurel Creek and Kirsten's services to other bridal parties - it is worth the money! Just maybe use a different caterer to Act 3... After our wedding, what made Laurel Creek more special in our eyes, was a lovely email from Kirsten, telling us her favorite memories from our wedding, and the final line saying "cheers again to a wonderful day, keep us in mind for family photos... our grounds are always open to you!", making us feel true appreciated as customers and as a couple! read more

My husband and I just got married here on May 11, 2013 and had a GREAT time. Pros: - Gorgeous grounds - The staff is friendly - Good space for outdoor event - Preferred vendors were familiar with the venue, so everything went smoothly - Kirsten was extremely friendly, helpful and coordinated with most of the vendors which takes a lot of stress off the bride! - Venue allowed you to store supplies a couple days before the wedding which saves time and stress! - You get the venue for a long time and can pay for extra time which made our wedding very peaceful Cons: - There was only 1 hour budgeted for the wedding rehearsal and I definitely think 1.5 or 2 hours would be much better. - Choosing an outdoor venue in spring is a little stressful since you don't know the weather until the week of. We had to decide whether to rent an extra tent, walls and heaters for a lot of money. Thankfully the weather turning out to be 80 and hot! Overall, our guests LOVED the venue and so did we. Laurel Creek delivered on creating the perfect wedding for my daughter and new son-in-law. The grounds are spectacular and the owners are caring and invested in creating a day to remember. They have amazing vendors to work with allowing us to create a relaxing and very enjoyable day. I have coordinated weddings in the past and was a little anxious about not have at least a day of coordinator but truly did not need it. With a great florists there is really no need for extra decorations due to the beautiful landscaping. We were blessed that the day turned out to be a beautiful sunny day for an outdoor wedding but even if it hadn't the beautiful tent would have still created an amazing setting. Everything about this venue is perfection, and I had an amazing experience getting married here this May. Kirsten, the venue owner, is one of the main reasons why getting married at Laurel Creek Manor went so smoothly for us. She is extremely thorough, organized, professional, and all-around likable. It was a pleasure having her there on the day of the wedding, constantly behind the scenes, always making sure that everyone was in their appropriate place. The actual venue is beautiful all year round, but I'm biased for May because the huge rhododendron bushes were in full bloom which made for amazing photos. They take incredibly good care of the house, where we had our buffet for the reception dinner. There are also 3 bathrooms for guests inside the home, which is amazing considering a LOT of PNW wedding venues just have glorified "porta-potties" for their outdoor weddings. The bridal suite upstairs for getting ready is absolutely beautiful and lends itself to amazing photos. It's clear that they take very good care of the home. I highly recommend this venue for anyone looking to get married somewhere beautiful without completely breaking the bank. Kirsten is warm, welcoming, experienced and thorough. She will return your emails in a timely manner and always be there to greet you for any meetings. The manor and the surrounding grounds are always clean and Kirsten replaces all the flowers every spring so everything is fresh. I held my wedding reception here on May 29th, 2016 (the sunday of memorial weekend) and the weather was back and forth the entire week leading up to the big day. Kirsten was flexible with our every changing back-up plans and drafted out a plan B so the venue and vendors would be prepared for anything. For all of you brides (and grooms) getting ready to get married here....i have to tell you that you truly couldn't have picked a better place in the world! Laurel Creek Manor turned out to be the most magical place to have my wedding. Every picture no matter whether taken with an iphone or by a professional turned out beautiful! There isn't a corner of this place that isn't bursting with beauty. Not only that but the family that owns it truly touched my heart. This week there was a burn ban....Al went above an beyond and pulled soooooo many strings to get them to agree that we could do the firework show...and as it turns out that was alot of guests favorite part. Pictures can't describe the aw factor that the fireworks provide. It's like this huge moment after a fantastic day and everyone was walking around grinning like a little kid. And kirsten! Her happiness and joy make you want to be friends with her. Her words of wisdom made all the difference in the planning and even during the wedding she went above and beyond the call of duty to step up and make the day incredible. All of my family and wedding party were so impressed with her genuineness. My advice would be the following; --use the whole venue. Every nook is beautiful in its own right and people love walking around and looking at it. --rent as much of kirsten's stuff as possible. It adds so much to the wedding. The BAR sign and the barrels really added a lot. --get the fireworks....TOTALLY WORTH every cent. Will leave your guests in aw. I took some of my budget for flowers and put it towards this and truely truely was one of my guests favorite things. --Get to know al and kirsten. They have so much wisdom and are genuine, good people. --If your worried about the rain....don't be. It adds character and ambiance to this already beautiful venue. read more

The place is almost perfect, but not quite. The good: Hands down, nicest wedding venue in Pierce County. Beats out the Castles, the other outdoor places, etc. etc. Perfect wedding party quarters, quaint, lots of parking, perfectly manicured landscaping. Beautiful!! Catering companies on preferred list are all very good. Kirsten (owner's daughter) is very sweet and tries to go extra mile. So So: Cost is high, but you're paying for quality I guess. Place costs a ton and they don't throw in extras. They'll nickel and dime you on rental items, the biggest being the outdtdoor tent. If you don't rent the tent, they will make you feel like you have to rent one, as other people will rent one day before or after your event, there is a patio, etc. The bad: Rigid contract protecting the venue!!! I think the owners had a terrible experience at one point and in response, put a ton of rules in place. I understand that owners want to be good neighbors and not trash their venue, but come on. With how expensive venue is and how large deposit is, I believe they should be more relaxed. Alcohol policy, rigid (no shots, what?). No drinks upstairs. No music past 11 PM on a Saturday. Luckily for Laurel Creek, they have best venue in area, so they can be rigid. I would offer some advice though. Let people loose a little and use deposit to fix damages. Their wedding day should be best day of their life. People who get married here are probably spending more than 20K. Keep Al behind the scenes, he comes off a little prude, but I know he was nice man. read more

The grounds are literally perfect. A lot of time and care is taken into making sure this place stays beautiful for every event. So many guests complimented us on our choice of venue. I just got married at Laurel Creek Manor on August 17th and it was perfect! I couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else. We have heard nothing but great compliments from our guests and many, "This is the best wedding we have ever been to!" Working with Kirsten and Al was great and very easy. One of the things I loved most about Laurel Creek Manor for a summer, outdoor wedding is the amount of space that you have to work with. The yard is large, which is nice for the guests to spread out on. We had the ceremony, reception (under gorgeous tent), dancing, bar, yard games, photo booth and cigar bar all outside in the yard. It was nice for guests as everything was in one general area that was far enough apart but close enough to bounce around. You also have the house to work with as well. We used one room for the dinner buffet, but if interested, you could utilize more. The layout is perfect. In addition, Kirsten was also able to recommend some great vendors to use (DJ, Photo Booth, etc), which helped a lot in the planning process. I called Laurel Creek to book an anniversary brunch for about 20 people on August 18th. When I asked about pricing the event manager first told me that Saturdays are usually reserved for weddings and so we would have to pay the wedding rate, then went back and said they did in fact have a wedding that day. I then asked if the 17th was open to which he said yes, but we would again be charged the wedding rate. I pointed out to him that on the website it clearly states a separate rate for social events for weekdays to which he laughed and said "every day in August is reserved for weddings so it doesn't matter if you argue." I have never been treated with such disrespect before. I checked and there is no policy stating that, he just decided to be horribly rude for no reason and completely went against the corporate information online. This institution is clearly pretty money hunger to block out an entire month from anyone not getting married, or they need to seriously reevaluate who they have doing their booking. I have never put anyone on blast before on yelp, but this was just ridiculous. read more

Laurel Creek Manor was the first out of nine venues that we looked at, and it was the only one that had everything that we were looking for. It was also versatile in a sense that it had the garden setting (landscape grounds), the traditional setting (inside the manor house), and the rustic setting (red barn, small pasture). It is beautiful both inside and out. You really don't need to do much decorating at all, and they provide everything that you would need (ie. chairs, tables, arbor, parking) and even have other items for rent (tents, cocktail tables, shepard hooks, projector, photo booth). But there's so much more that this venue has! The owners were so nice, friendly, and very helpful in answering questions that I had leading up to my wedding day. Went to a wedding over the weekend that was held here and it was gorgeous. The venue was elegant without making you feel like you were in a hoity toity place. It was a nice relaxed atmosphere. My niece was married here last year. While the grounds are nice it is a very expensive venue with lots of hidden costs. So beware. The owner is very controlling. At my niece's wedding he was constantly telling guests to get off the lawn and pick up their glasses. A large number of guests complained to my brother (the father of the bride) regarding the owner's behavior. At one point he yelled at the flower girl (she had set a glass on a table and he was upset that it would leave a water mark) and caused her to get so upset that she was not able to be in the ceremony. She was only 4 years old and it almost caused blows between him and the flower girl's father. Again it;s a pretty location but there are many hidden costs (the wedding party was billed over $800 for staying 30 minutes past closing time....the limo to take them to the hotel was late). Not worth the hassle especially with the owner watching every single thing during the wedding and reception read more
