I read the bad reviews here before coming to Dr. Chang's practice. Still, I took it with a grain of salt, to my dismay. Altering of Dates of Service; I was given a treatment on one day. On my insurance claims, that treatment shows up as two different dates. Unnecessary treatments that are given without asking patient's consent prior to delivering said treatment that result in excessive out of pocket costs that are vaguely explained. Billing for services not rendered. I was billed for the whole treatment for a crown during prep before it was actually cemented which is considered fraud by ADA and insurance providers. I'm sad to leave this review since Dr. Chang seems like a sweet lady, but for my own sake, I can not recommend this practice to a loved one, friend or even a person I wish harm upon. :( I'm truly disappointed. I feel like I've been milked rather than treated. TLDR: The subpar practice is not outright predatory. The tactics are more pernicious and they slowly nickel and dime you especially when you have great insurance. read more

What a terrible experience. I just left the office without being seen. Going to a dentist during a pandemic isn't ideal, but pain begs for attention. I read the mixed reviews but decided to take the Monday appointment offered me Friday night since my body required it. The office is dirty and unkept, dust on surfaces and dead plants, with little to no communication about current pandemic protocols or even what to expect as a new patient. I was asked to sign confirmation that I'd seen policies that were not provided me (privacy, etc.), escorted into a room where the assistant put an xray apron on me and tried to put sunglasses on me without any communication. There was clearly a language barrier, something I'm generally happy to work through as a multi-linguist, but when I saw he'd entered my information into the computer incorrectly, added to the other indications all around, it was crystal clear there is not sufficient attention to detail at this practice. This could be disturbing in non-pandemic times, but having people in a vulnerable position such a open-mouth treatment in an inclosed space certainly requires better practices right now. There was no indication beyond a few bottles of hand sanitizer that precautions were being taken. I've never left an appointment midway, but I found their space and actions today highly unprofessional, potentially dangerous, and I am fully creeped out by being in there! read more

If I could select ZERO STARS for this review, I would. Like the other reviewers who had bad experiences with this doctor, I don't understand where these positive reviews are coming from. I cannot overstate how dissatisfied I am with this dentist, and I urge everyone to stay away. In 2015, I had a root canal and a crown placed on an upper right-hand molar. All seemed well at first. I switched dentists the next year when I felt like Dr. Chang-Lemone was pushing me toward procedures I didn't need. The last time I went in, the dental assistant with the disturbingly shaky hands sat me down and tried to numb me up for a root canal. I had not authorized a root canal and was only there for another consultation. To be fair, a new dentist confirmed that I needed a root canal but some of the other work Dr. Chang did - such as the root canal and crown - may not have been necessary. Fast forward to early this year. I'm now experiencing pain and aching where the root canal was done. I've had a new dentist and endodonic specialist both confirm that the root canal was botched and the crown misplaced. The specialist has written up an overview of what went wrong.and I have reached out to Laurel Dental to request a review and refund. So far, they keep ducking me. I urge everyone to seek a different dentist. This was the worst dentist experience I've ever had. read more

Dr. Christina Chang did a great job and she set my root canal right. She have great clinical skills and accurately diagnosing when others overlooked subtle symptoms and always available to serve her patient's needs, who is more concerned with his patients than his pocketbook. She has given my family excellent treatment over the years, and I have found all of his staff to be extremely courteous.  Highly recommended. read more

I recently had my braces removed at Laurel Dental and I am really happy with the results. I opted for the Six Months Smiles type of braces over the traditional type and Invisalign because the duration was much shorter for similar results. I also like the fact that the braces brackets are less noticeable than traditional braces. Dr. Chang informed me that due to my severe overcrowding, the process can take up to a year, which is still considered short compared to the two other types of braces. Dr. Chang is very nice and knowledgeable. During each biweekly appointment, she always took the time to make sure my teeth are moving according to plan and answered my questions. Thanks to Dr. Chang, I've been getting compliments on my smile. read more

Dr. Chang-LeMone is a TERRIBLE dentist. DO NOT go see her. I've had many incredibly painful experiences during cleaning and check ups, I only kept going back because I am an optimist. When I went to another dentist they said that she had filled cavities that did not need filling and the ones that did need it were done improperly. She told me I needed four fillings when the doctor I asked for a second opinion said I only needed one. Be warned. She pries into your personal life, insisting on getting answers to questions, while there are dangerous instruments in your mouth, which is annoying and probably not safe. Her tools are out of date and painful. There are a bunch of ads for teeth whitening and cosmetic dentistry, so I am sure that she is getting commission from companies to show their ads in a flashy way. This is not only invasive and unnecessary but it leaves me uneasy thinking that her purpose is to make money not treat the patient. Her medical assistants change frequently and are inept and undertrained. They spray water on your face, don't do enough water or vaccum-sucking, for an awful experience overall. Also they do not respond when you say it hurts or to stop for a break, which is rude and stressful. Please DO NOT go see her, I have no idea why there are so many positive responses, I have plenty more to say about the office but I will end this diatribe with a warning - get a second opinion! I recommend Dr. Lambert Stumpel, he has top of the line technology and tools and is very kind and my cavity filling was painless (he didn't even need to numb the area). If there was a zero, I would give it to her. read more

I have been going to Dr. Sadrameli for the last 5 years and absolutely love her! She is extremely gentle which is great for someone like me who is not very fond of dentists. She does all the work herself, even the cleanings. She takes the time to explain everything she's doing and makes you feel at ease. Her offce staff is always friendly, ackowledge you by name and are very good at following up. I definitely recommend her to anyone out there especially if you have had bad experiences with dentists before. She's really great! read more

A co-worker recommended Dr. Chang-LeMone. He told me ahead of time, and I then experienced it for myself--somehow Dr. Chang-LeMone is so gentle that it doesn't feel like your teeth are getting scraped and cleaned and flossed--yet you walk out of the office with that unmistakable dentist-cleaned feeling. She recently found a small cavity and fixed it on the spot--that's right, I didn't have to make another appointment or arrange to be late to work again! p.s. Due to my job change, I can no longer see Dr. Chang-LeMone. But until very recently, I've received great dental care from her. One thing I remember most and appreciated was her thorough initial counseling to make sure I understood my options. I must have spent twice as much as other patients there, asking her all kinds of questions in my mind. She was patient with me and tried to be in my shoes throughout that time. Also, what I like about her is that she's very down-to-earth, giving me concrete explanations. I NEVER felt rushed into making decisions or given inaccurate information. I felt that she genuinely wanted the best for me. Personally, I'm really happy with my front tooth she treated, in terms of both functionality and aesthetics. I wish I could go back to Dr. Chang-LeMone! read more

Dr. Christina Chang-LeMone was my dentist for about 1.5 years. She seemed like she's very competent when it comes to your basic dental care. Unfortunately, my impression of her had completely changed after she recently decided to replace my crown and extract my front tooth using forceps for a future implant. Not only did I feel I wasn't truly informed of the consequences, I am now left without my front tooth with a year's worth of dental work ahead of me, including bone grafts and special adapters for my future implant. As of July 15, Dr. Chang-LeMone didn't even have an emergency contact number for her patients, so when her poor stitching job fell apart on a Friday night (just one day after the extraction), Dr. Christina Chang-LeMone asked me a week later, "well, why didn't you call me?" The nerve of her! But what was worse (and truly unclassy) was rather than apologizing for her oversight, she implied it was the receptionist's fault for not ensuring an emergency contact number was available. I was truly disappointed in my dentist. After having consultations with two oral surgeons and two prosthodontists later, I was informed by all four specialists that Dr. Christina Chang-LeMone should not have done what she did. Not only did the boneridge collapse or was broken during the extraction, the trauma inflicted by her caused my gums to retract significantly, and shifted the neighboring teeth away from the missing tooth. The prosthodontist explained to me that my new tooth will have to be considerably longer and wider than its counterpart, and told me, "I'm truly sorry." Then it dawned on me, that the first apology throughout this whole ordeal didn't come from my dentist, but from a prosthodontist, whom I never met before until that day. Shame on you, Dr. Christina Chang. The next time you try to be cavalier about your skills as a general dentist, reconsider and stay within the scope of your capabilities. read more

Be forwarned, like the other reviewer said, this nice dentist will tell you that you need many things done that you don't really need at all. After saying my teenager needed a root canal (teen needing a root canal already?) and had some cavities, we went to another dentist only to find out that the teeth were just fine. And as for that feeling as if the teeth were not cleaned, it's because they weren't. She did a very quick cleaning on my teeth, I did not feel any scraping whatsoever. You should feel something when you get your teeth cleaned. There was little to no cleaning on the top teeth. Oh, and there is no dental hygienist, she does the "cleaning", too. This is not a full-service dentist. I like an office with a larger staff, to be more accountable to each other. read more

Terrible Dentist! Her assistant is rough and does not seem to know what she is doing. To add to this, Dr chang lemon worked on three cavities over four months ago and they are still bothering me. In fact I cannot eat on one side because of her shabby handiwork and now I may be in a worse situation then I started. Laurel Dental Office is wonderful. I developed a toothache while I was visiting my friends in SF recently. The office quickly admitted me, helped me get my insurances sorted out, and took care of me in a very timely manner. Dr. Chang-LeMone is a perfectionist professional. Not only she is very patient, thorough, caring, and extremely gentle. She and her assistant would stop in the middle of the procedures to let my jaw rest and even put Vaseline on my lips to keep me comfortable. Her entire office is very welcoming and all of her staffs are very friendly nice people. If I live in the Bay area, I would definitely have her to be my regular dentist. I would refer her and her entire team to anyone!!! read more

I've traveled a bit for my job and had to see dentists on a temporary basis and none compare to Christina. She makes you feel so comfortable and takes out the anxiety and discomfort. I was referred to Dr Christina Chang-LeMone while experiencing a dental emergency. I was a little anxious because I was flying out of state the next day. I was seen that very same day and had to have a root canal. To date I had never had a dental experience or service like that before. The staff was really friendly, while putting me at ease before the procedure. They were very professional and truly showed interest for my dental health. I even received a follow up phone call while I was out of state to check on me. Dr Chang-LeMone is very friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and gentle. She is also very thorough, explaining everything to you and why. The dental assistant, Sherry, complements the office as well. It's amazing to see two people work so well together. Karla, the office manager is terrific. She has worked with me several times, scheduling my appointments around my work schedule. It's really nice to be greeted by such a friendly person, with a positive attitude who always has a smile on her face. My overall experience with Laurel dental was outstanding. I was searching a good dentist in the city through acquaintances; I feel I was lucky to find a dentist having not only the tools and technique but a lot gadgets to make you confortable to stay in the chair, feel like home. The computer in the treatment room is All-In-One big screen, her camera images can transfer to the computer in seconds wirelessly. I have a small mouth, by surprise I have choice of 3 different x-ray sensors... I am beyond petrified of the dentist's chair, from one to many bad experiences with previous dentists, and Dr. Chang-LeMone has helped me successfully get through the treatments I needed and to begin to overcome the phobia. She is completely patient and understanding and will do whatever it takes to get you through the dental work - she goes way beyond the call of duty. When I left message told her I can't be sleepy for the weekend that I have to back to work at Friday night, she called me back in early Saturday morning to give me a different medicine. For me, she explains all of her reasoning and all of my options, so that I feel more in control. She is extremely competent and has always been right about my teeth, and has never recommended anything unnecessarily. Her office is lovely, and she has relaxing distractions if you want them. The nurse there was very kind and the lady at the front desk is helpful and knows all about insurance questions. read more

Dr. Chang-LeMone is a great dentist and has done wonderful work on me. I live across the bay and still will travel to see her. The staff is knowledgeable and always very acommodating. I like how they remember little things about me and inquire about the progress in my life. It makes me feel like part of their family. I would highly recommend her. read more
