-------------------------------------…read more Haus Brezel German Shepherds www.hausbrezel.com ------------------------------------ Before I met Toni Brezel over the phone, I had been talking to Angelika Clark, the General Manager at QUALITY K-9 Training in Phoenix, inquiring about puppy training that we'll be doing later on this year once our puppy arrives home from the breeder. Tino and Angelika Clark own Quality K-9 Training and Tino trained Ustinov, Toni's 2011 SW Seiger Champion German Shepherd. When we were almost finished, I asked her if she was familiar with any GSD (German Shepherd Dog) breeders in AZ. She said, "No, not in AZ. If we were buying a German Shepherd, we'd go with Toni Brezel at Haus Brezel German Shepherds in Sarasota Florida." Well, THAT was all I needed. From the first call, to the one just earlier this month (August 2016) Toni has been helpful in our pursuit to find "just the right" puppy. Check out her website and give her a call. She's accessible, professional and good at what she does. Whether you're looking for a Show line, Service Dog, Family protector or Family companion, Toni's good at picking out the right pup. -------------------- TIPS ON NEW PUPPY COMING HOME: "A tired dog IS a well-behaved, content dog." German Shepherds need a lot of daily exercise, both as a puppy AND as an adult. This is the reason they're best suited for active outdoor families and individuals. Having them properly trained also, is not optional. Call around, check prices, even before choosing a breeder so that your "training cost" is factored into your overall budget. Then you won't have "sticker shock" after she get's home and you suddenly decide she's a little too rambunctious...in need of a bit of training. LOL Puppies "pack on" 10 pounds every month for the first 5 months before their growth spurt begins slowing down. They're considered fully grown between 18 and 24 months and since they grow SO QUICKLY it's imparitive to use a quality LARGE BREED puppy food with "real food" ingredients, until they reach 18 months. Their FAST GROWING bones depend on the quality ingredients found in Specialty Pet Stores. This is how you give your GSD the best possible start. Check out CHEWY.COM for dog food brands for their quality and prices. My husband and I are learning a lot about "everything dog" from CHEWY.COM Then if possible, find the nearest Specialty Pet Store and see what they have to offer. My family and have gained so much knowledge from every dog expert we meet and talk with. AND it's always good to keep your money in your own community when possible. It brings a better economy to your area. Start training the first week he/she is home and enroll in a group puppy class right after the 3rd set of immunizations. They'll learn more than neat tricks while they're in class. They get the much needed socialization with other dogs and different types of people which is a requirement to have a well adjusted GSD with an excellent temperament. They have a brilliant mind so..."If you DON'T train him, HE'LL have YOU trained in no time." You will reap the benefits of having a happy, healthy and content GSD for well beyond a decade to come. -----------------------
