However, a family member needed hospitalization and surgery right before our date to use the chapel. I notified the owners a month before the date. They informed me that I wasn't going to receive any reimbursement for our cancellation. There was nothing on the contract that stated losing all the dollars paid if a cancellation had to be placed, especially for a matter of medical reasons. I could have understood losing the initial deposit and some of the balance on a prorated level. All they offered was to reschedule the date. But, since it was an anniversary celebration, that was not possible. They were completely unyielding and unsympathetic to our case. If you consider this venue, I would recommend you checking to see if they added amendments to the contract due to our case, These owners are completely selfish and uncompromising. This is not a way to treat customers as you start a new business.

Who says that to her guests and paying customers with a nasty attitude!!!! This is your business and you're upset you're collecting 500 plus dollars. There were no other customers there and we were her last customers...Jennifer the owner was TERRIBLE she used the word tacky so many times. I felt if we were another race it would have been different I also said we're NOT tacky and that she has POOR customer. So I'm wondering if this what she thinks about people of color and she kept saying YES I'm frustrated I advise Jennifer if you're frustrated the paying customers should NEVER know how you feel...It's funny a lot of guest felt the same way saying she was very rude...She expressed it several times...Yes I'm upset. She and the caterers were also able to accommodate a Gluten-free menu for our daughter who has Celiac's disease! Also booked our Photographer/DJ/Videographer at that time as well. My salmon would have been terrific if it had been fresh. It was a huge portion but cold and the sauce had congealed. I liked the roasted potatoes and the veggies but again, cold. My husbands sliced steak concoction was at least warm and it was super tender. It was also well beyond a generous portion. He disliked the sauce though. The bar staff did well. Not me (the groom), not my mother, not the bride, but her. She played the QB and handled everything. Never once did Mary say something like "Sure, we can do that for an extra fee". Everything was "Oh sure, here's what I have, what do you think?"
