I recently did a tour at this community, and for a few min I was very confused. I followed my gps, but when I arrived there was no signs that read "The Laurels", but rather they were all marked "10x" I arrived to the leasing office and met with Kira, who was very welcoming and friendly. Providing lots of information for anyone who is thinking to lease at the property. The community is huge, over 20 buildings, and about 20 miles of property make up community. The property is nice, for the most part it is well kept, and clean. The units however do show their age. Inside the apartments most will have slightly outdated appliances, carpeted bedrooms, and from what I learned, most units will not be equipped with a microwave. For someone who is renting, this is an important feature. The community holds events for the residents each month, which I love. The pool, and fitness centers were kept clean and more modern. This will be a great place for anyone who is not too keen on brand new or updated appliances and simply looking for a quiet and safe neighborhood to live in. read more

This apartment complex is easy to navigate and the signage is pretty good for a visitor. I liked how well landscaped the grounds are as this is not a new property. It has been around for over 30 years. Parking can be challenging for guest parking in the evening but since I was visiting during the late afternoon, it wasn't a problem. As a visitor I am not aware of any residential problems or issues but the location can't be beat for being in the most central part of the city and 5 minutes from groceries stores, gas stations, parks and a library. Yesterday I went into the community office to speak with Kat, the property manager. Kat, as usual, had a quick and fully effective solution. She's the best property manager I've ever dealt with and she's more than a little of a guardian angel to her residents. Then I came out to the lobby of the office and every staff member said hello. Every one of them capable at their jobs and capable of having a real, engaging conversation. They feel like a wider circle of family, which is a major reason this community means so much to those of us who live here. If you move in, make sure you meet the whole staff so they can get to know you. Kat, Brentt, Mayra, Kali, and Seyna are more helpful than you need and more delightful than you might expect. Every one is authentic and capable. They're never just business. The maintenance crew at The Laurels always makes us feel like they're doing us a favor when they fix anything. They're capable and gracious. Not the faceless, here-for-a-paycheck service people friends complain about at other local communities. I watch Liet, Freddy, Gabe and Yoel from my apartment and they always look focused and are quick to laugh together. That's what I want in my community. A sense that authentic people share my investment in making sure our shared home is a source of confidence and pleasure. This is an easy community to move into and would be a hard one to leave. There are plenty of new apartments in the area but I don't see any with the charm, healthy foliage, and caretaking that The Laurels offers. And this is where I want to be in a storm because every building is solid and safe. And I can count on my neighbors. read more

From the very beginning, Maya made my process of moving in so smooth and enjoyable Kat the property manager gors above and beyond to help with anything that needs to make me keep on coming back and Brentt the assistant manager is so so helpful with all my daily apartment inquiries and does it with a big smile . The staff here is the worst, unprofessional, fake, racist people ever. They were the worst part of my time living here. Mayra is a liar, Tamara is prejudice towards blacks and will not do her job. Abigail is a liar and they are all scammers. You thought you were slick in taking my security deposit and got the nerve to charge me over $300. I'm demanding you adjust the bill. The gate has been broken for years, I asked Mayra prior to me leaving if you guys charge for any minor scratches on the stove top and she told me NO. Only if there is any holds in the walls which there wasn't. I am being charged for the stove top damage and Abigail inspected the apt before I left and said there was only damage to 1 blinds. Again adjust my bill. I will also go to the BBB. I Should not be charged anything else. So happy I moved. You guys make renting a very traumatic experience and a nightmare read more

This is not a black friendly community and they don't support blacksliving there. They will basically charge you an arm and leg. I haven't been treated fairly. Probably because I'm black. Don't pay attention to the reviewers that have ONE review clearly it's a fake page..... or written by management themselves. Fast forward 6 months. Haven't seen Amanda since I wrote the review she asked for. Like another reviewer said the gate is broken atleast once a week. Doesn't really make you feel safe. Maintenance still responds to calls quickly. I had to put in several work orders to get the apartment in decent shape. Water is shut off in my building atleast once a month with only 1 hour notice. Because of water heater issues in everyone's apartment. Neighbors are still nice. Neighborhood is clean. Management could be better... should be better. This was my first apartment but after signing the papers and experiencing the office staff this looks like my last apartment. Clearly it's better to own. ************ They will approve you even though you don't qualify just to get your money btw . Update after moving out :) Of course I didn't get my deposit back. Instead they sent a check for 3 cent, $0.03. I also paid $1,200 for my last month rent. After reviewing this document my prorated rent was suppose to be $700+ They also charged a late fee even tho I tried to pay 3 times including starting on May 1st. My advice is don't believe Donald because no one will reach out or return your calls. #2 don't move into anything ZRS management . They tried to charge me $3,000 to move out but I only paid the $1,200 that was supposedly due. They are out to get you but don't worry guys karma will come back to y'all for everything y'all doing to tenants . read more

Where do i start ?! My family & I been living here for almost 3 years, out of those 3 years, this year for our new lease is the worse & I tell you why. For the past couple months I noticed a lot around me, people here are really nosey what you do, find anything to complain about you & very disrespectful, maintenance are horrible & one of them will stalk you & video tape you whatever you do & the management here are the worse. I have only complain once & they never fixed the issue, till this day it still happens. Let me tell you more ! There's a neighbor here who I had to call the cops on them, came to my door & try to come in btw did I forget to mention we have a one year old child & this lady didn't care & still try to come in to the apartment & still harass & yelling like a crazy lady at 11 at night. This lady is the nosiest & nastiest person ever. Btw she's not the only one Be caution ! The years we been living here we had to give up our beautiful dog because it wasn't allowed here & the times I walk out I seen my kind of dog (pitbull) LOTS of them even the lady who yelled at me has one & other kind that are restricted. WOW ! The TWO worse part is coming We have complain about a maintenance guy who has follow me with his truck at 7 in the morning walking one of my clients dog for about 15 mins & later that day he did it again with the cart they work with & took pics of my husband. When we try to talk to the maintenance guy he pretended that he didn't know English that's when I spoke to him in Spanish & he kept ignoring me. Once again we told management & they still haven't done anything. If you're willing to come here & luckly enough to have nice neighbors I wish you the best ! Neighbors around me are very rude & find many complains on people that one of my good neighbors had to end the lease early cause they couldn't deal with the neighbors & management didn't let them get their sides of the story. Neighbors here will bang your wall if you make any noise no matter how low the noise is they still bang it and hard. BUT WAIT THERES MORE ! There's a lot of people here have cameras who will watch what you do, cameras looking towards the parking a lot not for safety but to save their parking spots and also own personal Pleasure. Parking here is limited. First come, first serve. People here have more than 3 cars, they park right in front when I have seen people who have babies and elderly people, even on the handicap when they ain't handicap. I even had to park all the way of the other side of the building. For the people looking for a place to call home DONT COME HERE ! You will feel uncomfortable and get treated like crap. This community is very shady, they keep trying to give me the run around, every time I call the manager is too busy to speak to me. My fiancé and I visited this property today. The location and price is killer! The complex is beautiful. Kathleen helped us and showed us around. She was so professional and super sweet! Super knowledgeable! She had to do little convincing for us to choose this place to call home but she made our choice even easier. Beware of renting here, I'll start with the good, location is great. That's about it. The bad, you are paying higher rent then the surrounding communities because the laurels is a gated community only problem with that is the gate is broken 95 percent of the time. The pool Maintanace is subpar at best. Parking is hard to find. The maintenance staff is slow to respond on calls. Finally good luck when you move out. Out of The seven people that moved out that I know who lived there zero got there security deposit back. A few were charged 2 months extra rent because they were uninformed about signing a paper saying you were not planning on renewing your lease. When my roommate and I moved out it was a nightmare, they charged us 600 dollars for what they said was a messed up stove top and damaged carpet. we had to go though the corporate office in Washington state to handle the problem. Sam the manger at the laurels had taken a picture of a stove in a different apartment that was damaged and tried to pin it on us to get extra money out of us. He also was unable to provide us with a proper quote for the carpet replacement. Sam and the lady from corporate dragged their feet on trying to get to the bottom of the problem until we were up against the deadline and had to pay for the carpet or it would be reported to the credit agency. All in all the place is over priced for what you are getting and is run by a shady manager.
