They're absolutely scrumptious Smashburger. I am very picky about my smash burgers, and the meat was so flavorful and so tender.

Lava Korean Steakhouse ended up being one of our favorite finds during our Myrtle Beach vacation. We enjoyed it so much that we visited three separate times during our trip for lunch, happy hour, and dinner. Every visit was consistently excellent. One of the things that really stood out to us was the variety on the menu. Whether you're craving Korean dishes, sushi, burgers, seafood, or tacos, there truly is something for everyone. The prices were also very reasonable, making it a great option for both tourists and locals. During our visits, we tried fried flounder, sushi, sashimi, chicken hibachi, smash burgers, and a crispy chicken sandwich with a large portion of tender chicken. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The sushi was especially memorable, and we found ourselves ordering the spicy tuna more than once. Happy hour was another highlight. The food and drink specials offered great value, and we loved sitting on the porch enjoying the live music. Our only disappointment was that the music wrapped up at 7:00 p.m. We would have happily listened longer. We also stopped by on Taco Tuesday and sampled the El Pastor, Tasty Tacos, and The Winner. All three were delicious, but the El Pastor tacos were definitely my favorite. I enjoyed them so much that I ended up ordering three of them! If you're visiting the Myrtle Beach area, be sure to add Lava Korean Steakhouse to your list of places to try. If you're local, this is absolutely a restaurant worth supporting. Great food, friendly service, reasonable prices, and a menu that keeps you coming back to try something new.

Came here for dinner and the restaurant itself is very clean and modern. We wanted to try their Korean BBQ but the meat they provided was very salty. In addition to that, their sides such as their kimchi and radish did not taste fresh at all, they all had a weird taste to them (as if they had gone bad). We were also recommended to get their corn cheese which I was very excited about but sadly it was salty as well. They had way more cheese than corn and it had a tangy taste to it as well. The drinks here on the other hand were very delicious. I noticed that they only provided one option of margarita on their drink menu and politely asked if they were able to make me a watermelon margarita, which they did. The barista who made my drink did an amazing job, the drink was very well balanced. As for their service, they were very welcoming and friendly. It did take a little long for out meats to come out but other than that service here was good.

Looked for the most interesting Korean restaurant in Myrtle Beach and landed on Lava Korean Steakhouse. My wife and I enjoyed the early dinner that provided good food and service in a modern K-bbq setting. Lava opened relatively recently, in 2024. It is located near the Myrtle Beach mall, but a bit isolated with its own surface lot. We came between and dinner time, and only one nice hostess was working the entire dining area. Lava's main draw is its Korean bbq, which means all the tables had gas grills with good underneath ventilation. In addition to BBQ, it has a mish-mash of Korean, Thai, Japanese, Chinese entrees as well (e.g. Bibimbap, Pad Thai, Hibachi, General Tsos Chicken...and some Mexican (tacos) and American (burgers) thrown in. They also have a large sushi menu, with a sushi bar near the cash registers. But we were here for the barbeque, and ordered 'The Big Kids' Grill combo ($79): galbi, bulgogi, pork belly, and chicken bulgogi...a nice selection of Korean classics for a decent price. First a simple salad with ginger dressing was served. The vegetables were fresh, and the homemade dressing was tasty. Then a selection of sliced vegetables (squash, zucchini, mushrooms, white and red onions, green peppers). They give you large pats of butter (so big, it looks like tofu) to oil the pan. As expected, it made everything taste better. Two banchans were given (napa kimchi and radish kimchi) and both were not good (this indicates that one should probably skip the bibimbap). Gochujang and a teriyaki sauce were also provided. The four meats came, and we grilled it ourselves. It ended up being enough meat to feed 4, so we took half of it home to eat the next day. The Kalbi (marinated short ribs) was especially good, and I appreciated the beef bulgogi not being so saucy. Good (strong) utensils were given to grill the meat, and the scissors to cut the meat into bite size pieces was effective. The ventilation was very effective: we didn't smell like bbq afterwards. The quality of the meat is what you would get at a LA AYCE Korean bbq, meaning it's not too bad, and would satisfy. We both got a large bowl of white rice with our meal. I did also want some sort of wrapper to package my bites, but things like rice paper, radish slices, or lettuce leaves were not offered. I did ask the nice waitress for some lettuce, and some iceberg lettuce leaves were brought, which ended up being pretty good with the rest of the meal. We packaged about half the meat to go, and was pleasantly surprised that there were no additional charges for the additions I asked for. There is a 4% surcharge for credit card usage, which seems to be becoming more common these days. They do offer better cuts of meat, at higher prices. But if one is newer to Korean bbq, our choice would be a good start. Just don't expect much from the banchans (in both quality and quantity).

While not authentic, it was amazing! We had mandoo, bi bim bap, and kimchi. The bi bim bap is served in a stone bowl, but it wasn't quite hot enough to really caramelize the rice. We did get some caramelization, but we both like more. The egg was cooked perfectly, but the meat was thick sliced. I'm assuming that is to accommodate American tastes as it is usually very thin, but it was really good. The mandoo was yummy. I didn't know if I would like the Thai chili sauce that was served with it, but it was really good. The kimchi was so good! I ordered a second bowl and even tried their radish kimchi and another radish side...so good! We ate in the bar for happy hour so we didn't have to wait to be seated. The Lava margarita is great! Our server was the bartender Maryum(sp) She was so attentive, helpful, friendly, and kind. You couldn't ask for a better server. We are on vacation, and this meal made our entire vacation! So try Lava, sit in the bar, and ask for Maryum, you won't be disappointed.

Big menu confusing as heck. Food was so so not good not bad. The drink was good. The place is nice and clean. Seating indoor and outdoor I can only speak for the indoor. Service was the low spot for this place I asked for some help with it from waiter, he brought another larger menu which was confusing as well. This was unlike any Korean restaurant that i visited before Korea and US no side dishes at all. I don't think i will be back.

My husband and I tried Korean barbecue for the first time on our vacation and this spot was delicious! Our server walked us through the menu and grilling process, made recommendations and was super helpful! We tried a bunch of meats, some sushi and fried rice. It was delicious and we left with a lot of leftovers. They also have an entirely separate menu of Chinese food if you're not in the mood to cook!

Maybe we came on an off night but our dinner here wasn't worth the $170 price. My daughter and I decided to try the Korean bbq combination 2 and added a long island sushi roll. To start, our waiter was nice but very overwhelmed being the only server apparently working. It took us an hour from ordering to get our raw meat to begin cooking it. The meat selection didn't seem high quality as the ribeye and sirloin were tough. The galbi was very fatty which I'm not upset about. The chicken bulgogi was surprisingly the best textured and tasting of the meats we ordered. My main issue wasn't the lack of high quality meat rather the wait for service. We were there for almost 3 hours and had to wait the last 30 for our bill and a takeout box. I've eaten Korean bbq many times in my life, and this by far was my least favorite.

Really reasonable lunch menu and a good sweet tea. I'd definitely recommend for a little Korean getaway

Hi Everyone, If you…read morelive to eat as many my of my Italian friends do, Villa Romano's succulent fare, will put that curl in your hair. This restaurant was a surprise from our oh so friendly, engaging, interesting and very accomplished Accordion Virtuoso, Mike. To our very enthusiastic, lovely, patient, Server Berkley. To our food which was divine. To the "Old World" Italian environment, kinda like Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, without the human statues that move ever so slightly, but just enough to to make you feel, something is a miss, but what??? Man, that drove me crazy. Also, you want to go here to dine because their competing Restaurants in the area feel having you wait in very long, well over an hour and a half lines, just to get in satisfies their need not to take any reservations. Hun...? Yep, they're fine having Aunt Susie's makeup looking like Mark Shostrom, the Master Makeup Artist from the horror series "A Nightmare on Elm Street" movies, put it on for her. We all know also, because while we tried our best not looking at how Aunt Susie's makeup was contorting her face, it was like trying not to look at a car wreck. I even laid 7-5 odds that her false eyelashes would become a moustache, and won, while we all did exactly that to satisfy my beautatious date's Cousins' from Reno, fish wish, in Myrtle Beach. We stood in the lines outside, in the evening heat, at three different restaurants that we tried. Please remember to bring water, you'll feel better while you wait, wait, wait again, and then really wait, as if Mosses is going to appear from on high with the Ten Commandments. Instead it's, "Your table is ready" as you try to wake Grandma from her heat induced coma. While Villa Romano's bait, is to actually take your reservation and instead, have you relax on your tushy while having a cocktail in their comfortably A/C filled delightful ambience while you relive your day's perspective with friends and Family ("No, you missed it. First he...", ya know), while Mike fills the air with his sweet mellifluous musical notes floating by you for your audio pleasure, much like the feather in Forrest Gump. Their appetisers looked awesome however, this is an "Old World" Italian restaurant that offered their minestrone soup, and their Caesar salad which came with our meals, was very tasty, and paired very well with the bottle of wine from their varied, and well selected wine list, which we all shared. First, I read some of Villa Romania's great reviews on Yelp, before making a reservation, most especially, because I did not want anyone to have to repeat "THE LONG Lines" at our Fried Fish Palace, lol experience from two nights earlier. All of our entrees pictured below, were savoy, aroma enticing, tastebud thrilling, flavor forward, and exceeded all our sensory expectations which helped us all unwind while really enjoying our evening out together as it unexpectedly, evolved into an event for us all. While all their deserts sounded wonderful we were all completely full. But on our next visit, tiramisu, ice cream, and cannolis for all. So it's expensive, right? That is a great question Poindexter, but wrongo, my parsimonious friend. It was again, surprisingly affordable, and "I shall return" as General Douglas MacArthur once said. Why? Because sometimes you just can't find what will work for everyone, and that feels and tastes, just right. That's it! That is Villa Romana Restaurant, and we all were so gleeful and happy we discovered that fact in our visit to Myrtle Beach, SC. Manga... Enjoy!

I was a bit skeptical because we passed it a few times on our way to different places in town, and from the outside you couldn't tell that it served upscale cuisine. But it had great reviews so we took a chance. Ambience: The inside was dimly lit with an old school feel. Reminds you of an old school New York establishment from the 80's. I liked it. It had a welcoming feel and I noticed there were at least two regulars the staff greeted. Food: We ordered an appetizer of calamari and the short ribs. Additionally, I was going to get the salmon but they had a special of red snapper with lump crabmeat, green beans and rice. The food was delicious. The calamari was one of the best I have ever tasted. The addition of the fried peppers complimented the dish well. They were nicely fried and seasoned. Very light crust which I love. Sadly I didn't get a chance to taste the short ribs because I was just too enthralled in my dish. The snapper was perfection! Everything on the plate paired well together. Also, if you're not going for an alcoholic beverage, their freshly squeezed lemonade is so refreshing. Service: I'm truly bad about remembering names and as is my usual, I don't recall the name of the waitress, but she was truly attentive and nice. She was also knowledgeable about the food and patient. Truthfully, all the waitstaff seemed genuinely kind towards the patrons, which was nice. If I am ever in the Myrtle Beach area again I will definitely be going back. Loved it!
