Most of the sunflowers were gone but I was able to cut a few for a vase at home. I can't imagine how pretty it was in full bloom. There were still raspberries to pick and beautiful wildflower fields to pick from. There is a corn maze, pumpkin patches and a fun enchanted garden to wanter through. Definitely on my list to revist next year!

We went in to the store and asked because it was after three and found out there is an admission booth further down on the field. We made our way down there and paid the admission and were each given a small bag to pick apples. Most of them were roped off except for the last few rows. In the way to that they had some really cute photo opps in a Zinnia field and in a sunflower field. The lady in the store yelled at my son in law for standing by a rope to look at the cider. Other than a few missteps, we thought it was worth the trip. The only downfall is there was no food to eat except for snacks. The donuts are only on Sat. And Sunday.

There's a good mix of kids' activities, food looked better than standard fest fare, and there was craft beer and wine, although I hate having to buy tickets for drinks, and the beer workers were pretty unorganized, and also ran out of a few kinds of beer fairly early. Then I saw that we could just have bought good beers from Cafés Hollander and Bavaria for cash! (Not from the Festival, itself). The headlining music acts were good, although the two main stages seemed miles apart, especially in 50-degree weather. We probably parked too far away down the Menomonee Parkway, it's a pretty popular festival, and nice "for the area", would come back for a music act I really liked.

Our first dance at our wedding had been stressing me out since we are definitely not dancers, so my…read moreparents gifted us a set of dance lessons to prepare. We've been working with Rebecca for a few months now and been really enjoying it and learning a few things! We stared out learning the basic steps and a few turns to a lot of styles and then progressed further with the style we chose for our first dance ending with a choreographed ~2:15 minutes. There was one lesson that felt a bit too sales-y for me trying to get us to signup for a longer package but other than we enjoyed everything. Everyone is so welcoming, friendly and encouraging. Rebecca made sure to teach us at a pace we could keep up with (we're total dancing novices so slow learners sometimes!) and gave us homework to practice to stay sharp between lessons. We performed our dance at one of the parties and even though we were definitely some of the worst dancers there everyone (instructors and other students alike) was so complimentary and kind. Rebecca even did my hair and makeup beforehand so it really felt like a special occasion! If you are feeling nervous about a first dance and want something more formal or just want to become a better dancer I definitely recommend checking out this studio!

This years night market was bigger than I have ever seen it before! So many food trucks, a variety…read moreof vendors, and lots of people to enjoy it! Only once a month, (June, July, August, and September), its a fun stop for your Milwaukee Summer bucket list. Its so great to see all the different vendors and food each year. This last market had a karaoke stand, various shops selling Milwaukee art, soap, and other handmade goods. Tons of food truck to chose from, we tried the tots (one of our favorites) and the brisket mac and cheese. Yum! Whenever I am able to, I make sure to stop by for a bit. It's an easy stop after work! Great music, good food, fun activities, and people watching too!

Did score some local honey, a mini sample pack of the cutest little bears. I really was just passing through, didn't want to make any impulse purchases since there was a lot of great stuff. It was a melting pot, people of all ages and backgrounds. Feels like there's more and more vendors each year.

I hadn't been to the Wisconsin State Fair in almost 20 years and I went on a Saturday morning, the…read morelast weekend they were open. I got there about an hour after the fair opened at 11AM and left by 3PM. Because we got there early, we parked across the street from the fair and didn't have to deal with the long parking lines. I was pleasantly surprised with the fair and I had a great time! Why I say I was surprised is because it was a lot bigger than I remembered and I thought it offered a lot- from carnival rides, to food, to music and drinks. There was something for everyone, children and adults. My favorite part of the fair was a delicious gyro, the goats, and a little girl and her prized cow!! The animals were absolutely adorable and I loved petting the goats, I really felt like a kid again! My husband also had a nice time, he enjoyed a corn dog and he liked seeing the animals. I also appreciated the security. Purse checks, metal detectors, and right when we walked in we saw a security guard watching from a stand. I don't stay at fairs after dark because I know there are drunk people and fights but I felt very safe during the day. I look forward to going back next year!

There are plenty of things to do from seen the different farm animals, to rides, to food. We've been going to the fair for at least 25 years and we always make it a point to do a little bit of everything. We had to try some of the dairy products including shakes and of course the cream puffs. They were delicious! The dairy building also has a display showing the process of going from cow to cream puff. One of the new attractions this year is the America 250 Wheel. It gives you a great view of the fair and surrounding areas. Another can't miss attraction is the pig races. Young and old alike have a great time cheering on their favorite pigs during the race. There is always something to do at the Wisconsin State Fair.
