I'm not 100% sure how I stumbled upon the Ironclad Inn, but I'm so glad I did. We visited on a…read moreFriday evening and the tasting room downstairs was busy... not a single seat at the bar. The room has a few tables and couches with tables for a more relaxed environment. Given the weather was perfect for a fall evening, we sat outside in a patio area. There are a few cocktail options (mocktails, too!) and small bites to nibble one. We shared the burger (Royale with Cheese) and hot dog (Beefy Cheesy)... both were juicy and had great flavor. We're also had the octopus, though it was a bit tough as it had seemingly been overcooked. Overall, the bites were great and I like that we could have cocktails in a relaxed environment. The tasting room had a small gift shop of sorts at the entrance, where they sell the bourbon they use in cocktails and other liquor.

Check-in and checkout are super quick and easy. I booked my room months in advance for the wedding because I fell in love with the Ville de Frejus room and its French decor and vibes. Didn't want to lose it, so I booked right away. I traveled alone, and it was a perfect place to be/stay. It had a decent-sized bathroom and a queen-sized bed. I'm still obsessed with the blue and white pillows on the bed. I need to find some for myself. Included with your stay is a chef-made breakfast, which was divine. They have a small menu, but everything looks so good. It's simple and perfect. One day I got the quiche of the day, and the second day was a traditional breakfast. All rooms are upstairs, so prepare to carry your suitcase up. I only had a carry-on, so it was easy for me. My stay was peaceful and quiet, and I didn't have any issues with any other guest being too loud at any point. Since I was going to be at wedding festivities two nights in a row super late, I was worried about getting back into the house. Super easy set up for so. The doors get locked at 6 as the staff leaves for the night. There is a side entrance you can use to go in and out, with a keypad and a code provided at check-in. So even though I arrived at midnight, I was able to get in safely and reach my room. Loved this Inn and will definitely stay here again if I am in town. It's also walking distance to everything I went to the whole weekend. As well as the main area with all the shops and restaurants. Parking is street only, but I didn't have any issues. Highly recommend!!!

The Most Unacceptable Hotel Experience I've Ever Had…read more My stay at Hyatt Place Fredericksburg at Mary Washington was the most unacceptable hotel experience I've ever had. During the night, a pair of women's panties fell out of the bedsheets onto the floor. There is no misunderstanding or excuse for that. It means the bed linens were not properly stripped or changed after the previous guest. I definitively slept in a bed that someone else had already slept in before me. I had been sleeping naked in those sheets under the assumption I was in a clean, properly prepared room. Instead, I was put into used bedding that had clearly not been serviced to even the most basic housekeeping standards. That creates serious sanitation concerns. No guest should ever have to worry about exposure to used sheets, leftover personal items, bodily residue, bacteria, skin contaminants, or any other hygiene risks because a hotel failed to do the bare minimum. What made this even worse was management's response. Rather than Joshua, the manager, taking ownership of the situation, apologizing, and making it right, the hotel chose to cancel my stay and ban me from the property. Instead of correcting a legitimate cleanliness failure, they attempted to silence the guest who reported it. Think about that: a customer reports sleeping in dirty sheets with another guest's underwear still in the bed, and management's solution is to remove the customer rather than address the problem. That tells you everything you need to know about accountability at this property. I expected Hyatt standards. What I received was a deeply unsanitary room and a management team more concerned with avoiding responsibility than doing the right thing. Avoid this location if cleanliness, professionalism, and guest respect matter to you.

Pro: staff was friendly during check in and check out, breakfast every morning, plenty of fast food close by. Cons: building needs updating: stained carpet through out the room, rust on door hinges, bathroom light and other furniture, chipped wood furniture. It also had just snowed 2-3 days before I arrived and the parking lot was still half covered causing difficulty finding a parking space at times as well as icy walking conditions. Overall I would stay here again only in a pinched I could not find somewhere else.

Hi Everyone, Where…read moreis it that we can go to find a clean, comfortable, hotel, with a bed that allows for a good nights sleep on a supportive mattress, an indoor pool with reasonable hours, plus a small but efficient business centre, small workout room, a friendly, accommodating, respectful professional staff for under $114 a night on the weekend? If you're headed too, or we're going to stop in Fredericksburg, Virginia then we highly recommend the Country Inn and Suites by Radisson at 656 Warrenton Road Fredericksburg Virginia. Why? Because you won't be so pleased with yourself that you choose to stay at this hotel. How do I know that? Because I spent over one hundred nights a year on the road in hotels for much of my over three decades professional career doing exactly that. First and foremost, is very friendly, and polite staff who accommodated our request for a quiet room away from the highway and away from the elevators. Secondly, our room was clean, and the bathtub shower, bathroom sink, refrigerator, microwave, and especially the TV, with a wonderful Samsung picture all worked well, as they all should! Although the pool area is indoors, it was a nice size for an indoor pool at a hotel. Three, I am a breakfast person, as I do not start my day without breakfast. Their breakfast is good, had healthy choices, and there was plenty for everyone who wanted to eat. Vivian, who was managing our breakfast on Sunday morning could not have been nicer, while being a real hoot to boot. My wife and I had a great time on multiple occasions laughing with different people and enjoying our stay thoroughly. I am also the kind of person who reads the reviews before choosing any place I want commit myself and our time for longer than, ten minutes. I realise that some of the other reviews correctly stated this is not the most up-to-date motif in a hotel that I have stayed in my experience, and they are correct. However, when the staff, the breakfast, the beds, the parking, and everyone's experience is very satisfying, when the hotel was built and decorated really doesn't mean much, now does it? We also want to let you know that we were visiting because a good friend of ours for over thirty-seven years passed away suddenly we were both quite depressed. So again, I cannot adequately express our appreciation, and respect we now feel for the staff of this wonderful hotel because they did not add any additional obstacles we had to overcome in our time of severe grief. Thank you all so much for that as we will be eternally grateful. Enjoy!

Confusion at check-in, hydration at checkout…read more We checked into the Hilton Garden Inn expecting a reliable, stress-free stay, especially given our Hilton status ...but instead spent the trip untangling mistakes that never should've happened. Our reservation was messed up from the start, the front desk couldn't get the details straight, and we were even charged incidentals twice, which meant more calls and post follow-up than any hotel stay should require. Because of the reservation errors, we also didn't receive the complimentary breakfast that was included in our booking ....disappointing, and frankly, not what we expect from Hilton... status or not. On the plus side? They made absolutely sure we were hydrated. We were offered bottled water. Repeatedly. Constantly. Relentlessly. Maybe we looked stressed... or maybe just very, very thirsty The hotel itself is clean and comfortable, but the operational hiccups overshadowed everything else. Hilton can...and should do better, especially for loyal guests. Bottom line: friendly staff, but billing errors and reservation confusion made this stay more work than rest. Double-check your folio... and don't count on breakfast. The water, though? They've got endless supply.

The hotel is located in a compound with both the Garden Inn and a Hampton Inn. (When traveling…read moredomestically we usually try for Hilton properties.) We booked the Garden Inn because it came in $50 cheaper. For one night it was okay. Not the lap of luxury, but okay. As others reported, it's a little shabby but clean. The air conditioner was somewhat loud, but on the bright side it muffled noise from the highway. You get a $10 credit per person for breakfast if you're a rewards member. In other Garden Inns the credit covers a limited buffet (bagels, oatmeal, fruit -- things like that.). The buffet here is $20. Nope! Doing a side-by-side comparison I'd choose the Hampton Inn. But $50 is $50 and if I save more than a couple of dollars I'd stay here again.

Great location right off the expressway. Across the street is a WAWA. Of course, I was super excited. I love WAWA. Too bad they don't have a WAWA here in NY. Upon arrival, I noticed that a lot of customers were coming in and I can see why. Walking into the lobby was like a grandstand. The ambiance was awesome. The lighting was amazing. Very spacious. There was a small library in the front with very comfortable couches. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Next across from the small library was the dining area for customers. Free breakfast was served. As we entered our rooms it was good. We made sure we did our cleaning. overall it was presentable. Clean, the smell was pleasant up to date decor. We had more than enough space for all of us. We wanted to get something to eat. We weren't sure if the hotel came with room service so we went across the street to WAWA and got a couple of food items they don't sell in NY. Very nice getaway hotel. There are other hotels in this location as well as restaurants and small shopping centers. Pricing for this room for double queen-size beds was very reasonable. For a small town, this hotel is a thumbs-up for me. Happy Yelping.

It was too late to complain, the next morning I requested the room be made up. When we arrived back that night no one had even bothered to enter and clean the room. They did not care.
