I wanted to purchase some jams to bring back home (SoFL) so we only visited the gift shop. Specifically, I was in search of T.O.E. Jam. It took a hot minute, but eventually I located it. The gift shop has a wide variety of merchandise and a massive jam selection. There are endless gift options available and the folks at the counter were very friendly. I'll definitely return on a future visit and will go when we have more time. I'd love to check out the farm.

They offer private farm tours, carriage rides, a bed & breakfast, a wedding chapel and lots of flowers to enjoy. My family went on the carriage ride with Brian and Barbie. They use an original carriage from the 1800s which has been updated with fiberglass wheels and hydraulic breaks. The carriage is drawn by Moses and Aaron (Gypsy Vanner Cross horses). The ride takes about one hour along a mountain gravel road. For portions of the ride, Brian & the horses kick up the speed to around 40 mph. It's pretty cool and exhilarating. A fun family friendly experience. The kids enjoyed petting the animals. They have a donkey, a pony, fainting goats, chickens and pheasants. You'll also find daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, a type of cherry blossom and other flowers.

They do not let you eat strawberries on the farm...not sure why it's a COVID/CDC thing so that is tough with a 1 year old who is obsessed with strawberries. Dahlias are my favorite, but it was hard to choose among the rainbow of colors and flowers in the gardens. There is a small parking fee, but well worth it. Their lavender fields are in full bloom beginning in June, so I have got to go back in a couple of weeks to see those! They offer one of the largest lavender fields in the southeast covering five acres. If you want to pick your own lavender, you must purchase tickets ahead of time on their website to reserve your spot. They also offer fresh flower bouquets for purchase in the cottage shop, as well as tons of handcrafted lavender products (made in house straight from field to jar). I wanted to buy everything as I am a huge proponent of clean, natural skincare ingredients and theirs are only made with the purest, highest quality ingredients. Can't wait to take another drive up to Dahlonega for a second visit!

And they deserve no less than 5 stars for the experience, from my first correspondence with Holly to arrange the tour, to arriving. The directions and the signage were momentarily confusing, but the site indicates to drive towards the right behind the barn on the gravel road. Pulling in you can't help but "awww" over the chickens, ducks, dogs and alpacas dotting the property. Once all of the other guests had arrived, the tour began and it was both fun and informational, about the farm, alpacas, and the artwork made from their fibers. Even my little one was less than her squirmy fidgety self and listened. Feeding the alpacas was really the most fun part as we were told that they don't particularly like being petted on their heads (only a minor bummer as we'd gleefully hoped that we'd get a few gentle pats in.) The tour finished up in the upstairs art studio where hand-made gifts were available, or where one could make a donation, as the tour is free. For how much fun it was, I wouldn't have hesitated to have been required to pay for it anyways. It was a very fun and memorable morning meeting some gentle and fluffy alpacas up close, and I would strongly suggest that anybody making a weekend trip to this area to plan ahead to also visit Lasso the Moon.
