Yum. The quaintest little cupcake shop. It is giving bookshop/coffee shop vibe but with yummy cupcakes. I have tasted banana rum, red velvet, cherry pistachio and double chocolate stout. So far there is no way to go wrong but chocolate will always win in my book. Enjoy the sweet treat.

I had been here years ago and I remember liking the cupcakes at Lavender Moon, so I wanted to try them again when I was in old town recently. I got the lemon curd, Boston cream, s'mores, and red velvet. While they all tasted great, they were pretty dry. My favorite was probably the lemon curd. I wish they had signs up for the flavors of the cupcakes, but the worker was very nice and she gave a good rundown of the flavors. I think this place is worth trying, even with the cupcakes being on the drier side.

Best cupcakes I ever had. I got the last left flavor at the time called humming bird which is a banana cupcake with maple frosting, and I was like I will have whatever you have and it was insane. Can't wait to go back and try their other flavors. You have a sweet tooth ; just go for it. You will not be disappointed

When do you ever go here and not have an exceptional experience? You walk in and the place is always clean you're always probably welcome and typically they have a high selection of delicious cupcakes. I love the fact that each staff person is more than willing to repeat all of the flavors in stock for each customer and you do not have to worry about being disappointed because the cupcakes are amazing. This is by far the best cupcakes in the DMV.

What a beautiful cupcakery in a quaint part of Old Town Alexandria. Not only does it fit right in with the vibe of the stores and surroundings, from the minute you walk in - you are warmly welcomed by the aromas of freshly baked cupcakes!!! I personally have never been to a bakery with such a huge variety of unique cupcake flavours!! From Devils Food Cake with peanut butter mousse... to Boston Cream Pie... Lemon Cake Blackberry Buttercream... and Pistachio Cake with Cherry Pistachio Mascarpone frosting OOOOOHHHH MYYY!!! I would definitely recommend!!

Shout out to Yelp for helping me discover this amazing cupcake shop. I got a dozen for a party I hosted and was not disappointed. There are so many flavors and they all tasted so delicious! The cake part is good but the icing is AMAZING. A dozen cost about 48 and it's worth it. One cupcake is very filling.

These are some of the best cupcakes in the area with lots of variations to choose from. Staff is friendly and helpful and are always willing to walk you through their selections. However a few things of matter: this place needs some tidying up because it feels like you are walking into some little girls messy doll house, Also the entrance is not all that welcoming and unless you really know what you're going in for, it feels like you are entering a trap house. There is also no online presence making it very hard to plan or order. You have to call or visit to know what are the options of the day and that is very inconvenient. Their space has so much potential and I feel that I could sit and enjoy a cupcake inside if the place didn't feel like I'm about to get lured, kidnapped and taken upstairs or somewhere in the back. I buy those cupcakes hyper vigilant and dash right out!

The cupcake was delicious, this place is very aesthetic and just a nice place to enjoy a cupcake! The staff here are so kind and they are fun to be around! 10/10!

FIVE STARS- I highly recommend! I went for the gluten free options (pictured here) and both were GREAT!

We were given a comfortable corner table with a view of the well-appointed room and the river beyond. The menu offers something for every appetite. We ordered the cream tea and the savory tea to share. This gave us classic and delicious scones -- proper English ones; not those triangular abominations that so many American establishments offer -- with Devonshire cream, strawberry preserves and lemon curd. Croissants were also an available option. The savory tea offered a choice of classic sandwiches which were all wonderful, but I particularly loved the chicken salad. Of course we each were given a pot of tea with a vast assortment to choose from. Earl Gray has long been my favorite, but somehow Lady Camellia's offers the best I've ever tasted on either side of the Atlantic. All of this was perfect enough, yet it was served to us by the loveliest woman who seemed to take genuine pleasure in our enjoyment of the whole experience. We can't wait to go back. One note: Lady Camellia's address is on the Strand, but if a member of your party has mobility issues, you'll want to avoid this route as steps block your way. Instead, approach from S. Union Street for a flat walk.

The menu leans traditional, with a variety of options that highlight classic French flavors. That said, it's a bit on the pricier side for the overall experience. Overall, a quaint and inviting spot that brings a touch of France to Old Town.

All of the hip young girls in high school recommended this place to me and my friends and lets just say, they have never been more wrong. My girls and I went this weekend for a birthday brunch. I wanted a crepe, but when I saw it was 17 DOLLARS to slap some Nutella and strawberries on a piece of crepe is outrageous. I ordered a "Continental Breakfast," which, with tax and tip, cost me $30 DOLLARS. I wish you could have seen the look on my face when they gave me a plate of rabbit food. All 6 of us looked at the plate and laughed. Seriously, my 5 year old neice can eat 3 times as much of that in one sitting. So, in what world would that be enough food for a grown woman? My friend then went on to order the French toast for a grand total of $36 DOLLARS. Mind you, there was only one piece of toast, and the Inside was raw and soggy. Tasted like eating wet, soaked toilet paper. On top of the overpriced food and small portions, our "server" came to our table for a total of ONE SINGULAR TIME. My friend had also ordered a Chai Latte. Surprise, Surprise! It never came, and they still charged her for it. I think the nice man who brought us our food could see the look on our faces when we received our food, because he then brought us a free side of French fries. It is a huge problem when the french fries were the only sufficient thing I put in my mouth at this restaurant. I please, genuinely beg all of you to NOT waste your money. I promise there is anywhere else where you can get a crepe for double the size and half the cost. Once we left, we went down to Call Your Mother, the Jewish Deli, to get more food, as all of us left with our tummies still rumbling. Mind you, a full bagel sandwich and coffee cost HALF THE PRICE of one meal at Fontaine. Horrible. Mind you, it is 2 days later, and I am still thinking about this. I fully created a Yelp account just so I could leave a review. I think I would have a better experience eating an IHOP Continental breakfast than whatever I put in my mouth at this restaurant. Not worth the hype at all. Save your hard-earned cash and be a big baller elsewhere!

After taking a look at the candy, gelato and desserts, we settled on key lime pie. The key lime pie was pretty good, though it was perhaps a little too sweet and the filling rather dry. Because we were first time customers, the shopkeeper offered us each a piece of complimentary candy. The candy had a shell filled with a confection containing Japanese citrus yuzu fruit. The shell was coated with dark chocolate. I'm just going to say this was the tastiest, most delightful candy I've ever sampled. Dolce & Bean also sells attractively designed packages of candies. These would make good gifts. We absolutely will be back for more candy and want to try the gelato. One minor thing is that the shop was chilly and I had to put my hoodie on.
