We are fairly new to the neighborhood and I reached out to Rolling Sloane's about making an order of gluten free cupcakes for an event I was hosting for the opening night of the Olympics. She was so communicative, helpful, and enthusiastic about baking for my event. She was also very confident in a gluten free bake that would be consumable for people who have severe allergies which gave me a lot of confidence that I could serve them to my guests without concern. Until recently we'd just grabbed whatever was on the menu at the market or her Sunday neighborhood pop-up but with my dad in town ahead of his birthday I wanted something special. Sloane was so lovely and easy to work with. The chocolate cake with American buttercream was a huge hit! The cake was so flavourful and moist while the icing was perfectly balanced. The decoration was just perfect and so fun. We ordered an 8" cake which was $55 and it was worth every single penny. Once you discover Sloane's wonderful treats, you better join a gym. A trip to the Delray farmers market to pick up her to die for scones has become our weekend ritual. I thought breakfast couldn't get any better than her berry and stone fruit scones, and then we branched out and tried her coffee cake. And then the fruit biscuits. Divine! And the shortbread - woah. I'm worried she's going to get snapped to be a pastry chef at a DC michelin star restaurant, so we figure we better eat as many of her tasty treats as quickly as possible. I have special ordered her chicken pies and dessert tarts (chocolate caramel, lemon, and berry) for parties. She is a dream to work with and all of our guests go home astounded and with her name in their pocket. I picked up a strawberry cobbler yesterday, it was still warm and smelled so divine, I literally almost ate it with my hands in the car and just served the ice cream I had bought to go with it to my dinner guests. I had a custom order paid and confirmed with Sloane, and when I went to pick it up, it was not ready and I couldn't reach her right away to see what the problem was. Apparently she had forgotten? She delivered it later causing us to be late for the celebration (even though I specifically noted what time we'd need it). The mini cupcakes were decorated nicely (though several had tipped over from the delivery) but the strawberry ones were dry and tasteless. I am waiting for a refund which she said she would do given the terrible inconvenience and mistake. I try to support local businesses whenever possible, but I would never use Rolling Sloane's again for a custom order. read more

I was looking for a small, simple yet elegant strawberry shortcake relatively last minute (3-4day notice I gave) and Rolling Sloans bake shop whipped up this beautiful 6" strawberry shortcake. I just added the little decorations myself and We could not be happier and it is perfect for us ( I asked for less frosting and that was perfectly delivered!) It was sweet but not too sweet, perfectly moist and the strawberries and whipped cream were so fresh and flavorful. read more
