I cannot recommend this venue enough. I was over the moon with my experience. Karen and her team are a dream come true. From the beginning of planning to the actual wedding day I felt at ease. The farm is absolutely gorgeous and spacious. 100/10 review, please have your event there, you won't regret it.

The lavender grove. I'm sure it is blazing purple in the spring!

We were blessed to be invited to a wedding that was held at the beautiful location. The moment you arrive at the property, you know you are in a special place! There are beautiful outdoor spaces abounding with rustic gazebos, fire pits, lavender groves and dense trees surrounding the main attraction which is the " barn ". We were fortunate to have spectacular weather and the ceremony was held outside in front of the amazing fireplace with wooded backdrop. The interior of the barn has plenty of space for bar set up, tables, and a generous dance floor. The wedding we attended was probably 100 people which allowed for lots of space. There were some guests seated on the second floor looking down but they didn't seem to mind. They had a great view of the bride and groom and dance floor. The outside space was utilized as a s'mores station, relaxation area and a place to get away from the music if needed. We had a wonderful time and loved everything about the wedding and the venue.

I read about Lavender Oaks Farm in an issue of Our State and knew I wanted to drive to Chapel Hill to visit. The farm is a very relaxing place to visit. There is a large parking area that is just a short walk from the main barn. When I got to the shop, I was greeted by everyone including the owner. I visited on a Thursday when tours are offered at 11am for $10. This also includes admission and some of the proceeds are donated to charity. Our tour began in the main barn that is rented out for events such as weddings. Parts of the main barn came from a barn in Pennsylvania and the owner designed the rest of the venue. Then we walked over to the restored pavilion where the hewn oak beams were put back together just like they were originally. We also learned about all it took to make the farm into what it is today and how to grow lavender in North Carolina's climate and soil. I really enjoyed the tour and how welcoming Karen was to her farm. The tour helped me appreciate all the beautiful lavender growing. The fields contain 4,000 plants and we were allowed to bring our own scissors and cut 25 stems for $10. The farm has a lot of pollinators from butterflies to bees so that was a highlight of my visit. The farm also has a gift shop that has pre-cut lavender, lavender herbs; lavender syrups; lotions, teas, soaps, sachets, and more. I look forward to my next visit at the farm.

Opening weekend! We have missed you Lavender Oaks Farm! So, post covid shutdown, many people are probably wondering what has changed? As you drive up the charming gravel road, drive slowly to keep the dust down- you'll appreciate it when you are outside and everyone else is nicely doing the same :) Once you park, it opens up to their beautiful barn. Look to the right and we we saw some smiling faces who gave us some free dried lavender satchels. ::PAYMENT:: exact cash or VENMO. We happily Venmo'd them and I think it's pretty cool they accept this form of payment too :) Do you follow them on IG? Their social media is the quickest way to find out all the new happenings! I'm fact, the lavender were JUUUUUST waking up so this weekend only had wisps of color. We stopped by the gift store (inside the barn) to look at all their products they make themselves! The owner was absolutely charming to talk to. I walked away with a bundle of dried lavender and a lavender BBQ dry rub which I can not wait to try. Thank you for having us! We will be back for your lunch and learn!

I stumbled upon this farm online as I was browsing events in the area. The next day, I decided to check it out on my day off. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted with such a sincere welcome and felt like I was part of the farm family. I found peace in the lavender field and enjoyed the serene scents and views of the butterflies dancing among the flowers. I was offered to take beautiful bouquets that were leftover from a wedding, and it just so happened that I was decorating my patio. I am excited to return to Lavender Oaks Farm and look forward to the Lavendar, lobster, and live event on June 19 :)

    Butterflies, getting into that lavender!

As a lover of lavender I was so happy to find this place on Google. I drove all the way from Fayetteville and it was definitely worth the drive! I had my mother along with me and she also fell in love with the place. The shop is so cute and decorated beautifully with all of their lavender goods. We cut 2 bundles of lavender (1 bundle=25 stems, $10) and also sat and relaxed for awhile by the fields. I couldn't help but bring my camera to take photos. It was the perfect day for an outing like this. The staff are very friendly and they always willing to answer any questions. There's tour too! If you love lavender, gardening or even just looking for a new place to check out, this is a great spot.

They even had a alpaca in a top hat - hard to beat that! However, the thing that stood out most was the genuinely caring staff. I'm embarrassed to say I had a little to much to drink that evening but without going into too much graphic detail I will just say that the staff went above and beyond to make sure I got back to my hotel safely. They even drove me back in their own vehicles and made a point to text my fiance in order to check up on me the next day. I would highly recommend this venue for all your event needs, you and your guests will definitely be in great hands.

The "Wedding and Reception" were like a fairytale, more beautiful than words can describe. The lightning made it look magical! I highly recommend Chapel Hill Carriage House. A month later, I found myself making the hour-long drive from Cary to Haw River Tap & Table--and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. As a farmhouse ale and saison enthusiast, this place felt like my happy place. We kicked things off with a flight featuring Beneath the Feet of Orion, We're All Quite Happy Right Here, Thank You (seriously... who comes up with these wonderfully ridiculous names? ), The Seven Faces of Pepe Grano, and Mille Fleur. Every beer was thoughtfully crafted and distinct, but We're All Quite Happy Right Here, Thank You completely stole the show. A bee pollen saison sounds unconventional, yet it was beautifully balanced, floral, refreshing, and unlike anything I've had before. The food easily kept pace with the beer. The Southern Cheese Slaw & Crackers disappeared embarrassingly fast, and the Carolina Egg Rolls were huge, crispy, and packed with flavor--perfect companions to the farmhouse ales. Of course, one flight wasn't enough. Round two included Crimson Velvet, Carolina Tapestry, Toasted Coconut Scribbler's Son, and Cultural Divide: Muscadine Rosemary. Each pour showcased the brewery's creativity without feeling gimmicky. Whether it was the rich toasted coconut lager, the juniper-forward sahti, or the tart muscadine rosemary sour, there was something memorable in every glass. If you appreciate breweries that aren't chasing the latest hazy IPA trend and instead focus on expertly crafted saisons, farmhouse ales, and unique traditional styles, Haw River Tap & Table is absolutely worth the trip. The quality, creativity, welcoming atmosphere, and excellent food made for an outstanding afternoon. I came because of one bottle from Whole Foods. I left already planning my next visit. Cheers!

The Haw River…read moreTap & Table, is right on the front side of the building Cat's Cradle is in, it faces the parking lot. It was a very casual set up, you order at the counter, take a plaque with a number, and they bring your food out when ready. Still riding the high from May's National Burger month, I decided to give their smash burger a try. Their smash burgers by default are only 3oz, but for +$4 you can get a second, and I'm assuming a third or fourth if you keep paying the additional fee. I also got a side of potato wedges, and the Shortstraw IPA (brewed with fresh pine needles!!!). They had a good variety of beers, so it was hard to pick. The Shortstraw IPA was an awesome starter. I wasn't sure at first, but the cashier gave me a taste, and it was really flavorful and unique. The food didn't take too long to come out, and everything tasted great. The burger was cooked perfected with some tasty seasonings on it, the fries were also cooked to perfection with a slight crunch on the outside, and soft on the inside. This was a great visit, and somewhere I'll certainly return to next time I'm in the area for a show. Friendly service, tasty food, and unique/delicious beer!

If you need/want a comfortable stay at a hotel, this is not it. This is not it…read more I'm writing this review at 5 AM after having had very little sleep last night due to the super uncomfortable mattress. I honestly feel like sleeping on the floor would have been as comfortable as this mattress in this room. And for what I paid for this room I expected much more, much better. Checking in downstairs I was greeted by a beautiful spacious lobby, a fresh scent in the air, and the check in reception desk staff was friendly and super competent. I chose to park on site because it was freezing outside and I didn't want to have to walk too far as I'm traveling by myself. Parking below the hotel is available for a cost. Getting down under the building in a larger vehicle can be a little scary. But I managed to easily find parking and hopefully later today when I leave, I won't have any issues. I took the elevator from the parking lot up to the fourth floor where my room is and easily found my room. But when I open the door to my room, it smelled like dirty sheets. Like dirty hair that needs to be washed. It did not smell like the fresh scent of the lobby. The decor is very masculine and uncomfortable. The couch that I sat in started to unfold itself as I'm sitting in it is the best way I can describe it. It's like it can turn into another bed in the room, but it's so poorly made that while you're sitting on it the bottom cushions start to slide out like it's going to turn it into the bed. Very uncomfortable and hard. The actual king size bed looks like it's going to be super comfortable. It's got nice, fluffy sheets and pillows on it however, I cannot get comfortable in it as it is hard as a rock. My hips are killing me and my right arm keeps falling asleep. I cannot find a comfortable position. There is no alarm clock, so I have to check my phone to check the time. Good luck figuring out the light switches. I spilled some water and there are no paper towels, so I chose to use a washcloth to wipe it up. Thefloors are laminate so wiping it up should've been easy and I expected the washcloth to be virtually clean when I picked it up, however it was filthy. So when was the last time these floors were mopped? And then I started looking around that's an area rug and there are several dark stains on the area rug. I had to turn the heater on because the air conditioner was running and the room was freezing. I mean outside it was 33°. The heater was so loud. I called downstairs and they offered to send someone up, but I was already in my pajamas so hopefully after I check out, they will check it out because it sounded like a freight train was in the room every time it came on. The walls are pretty thin and I know this is a college town and there was a concert here tonight. I knew that I would hear sounds from the street, but it was the sounds from the hallway and the rooms around me that was super annoying. The iron never heated up enough and water spilled all over the clothes I was ironing. Had to use the hair dryer to remove the water. Some previous yelpers said the water pressure in the shower was light. I found it to be perfect. But the hotel provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash all had a male-centered fragrance. Overall, I'm very disappointed in the stay. I have a pretty long day ahead of me with a lot of driving and I got basically no rest. And my back is stiff.
