I love this hotel!!! The staff is amazing. Pricing: it books up fast! Find deals on third party hotel sites Parking: A+ In the garage, where the elevator goes straight to your hotel floor. $20 a day (so be mindful of that!). Breakfast: C+ The only down side is I would want more on the breakfast bar for $16. Decor: A+ in the room & lobby is great! Bed comfortable. I was there on business & enjoyed sitting on the couches in the lobby drinking coffee with my parents, who I invited on my business trip! They enjoyed it thoroughly!

This is the first time I have stayed at anAC brand hotel and if the rest are like this one it will not be my last time. Hotel staff was welcoming and check in was a breeze. The hotel has a very contemporary feel and the layout is good. The room is nice with a nice bathroom. Large shower with an option of a Rain shower head or hand wand. There is no closet, just a small area to hang clothes with two small drawers under the small refig. Really have to live out of the suitcase, not a big deal for me. This AC was well kept, clean, and mostly quiet (we had a street side room) but the noise did not interfere with sleeping. Coffee bar available for that early or even late cup of coffee. Hotel is in a great location with walking distance to UNC and the shops and restaurants of Franklin Street. Hotel overall is a great value and will be staying here again the next time I get to come to Chapel Hill.

The only reason I'm giving this hotel a 5 star is simply their customer service. The staff at this hotel is phenomenal on all measures.

Cute in a has a jar of (delicious) cookies at the check in desk at all times. Besides being so cute it's located perfectly right in UNCs campus and just blocks from Franklin street. We had a car since we were making our way thru North Carolina and needed to drive to Duke a few times, but if you're visiting UNC you could probably get away without a car. The room itself was cute (of course) and clean. My only dislikes was that the tv didn't have Netflix so my daughter and I couldn't watch a movie together, but my phone sufficed. The walls were also a little thin and we had some noisy neighbors. We enjoyed the brunch buffet before checking out on Sunday and it was delicious. IMO anybody who has actually been to Italy would agree, every detail evoked the charm of a Tuscan villa but with the perfect amount of modern luxury. Our room was well designed and clean, and the overall experience felt truly elevated. But the true highlight was dining at II Palio (their signature Four Diamond restaurant). Simply put: the food was phenomenal. From the perfectly crafted brisket and short rib burger--to the house-made meatballs and incredibly seasoned, fresh oysters, every dish showcased top-tier ingredients and culinary precision. Finally, the overall service was exceptional: Hotel staff were welcoming and gracious as well as knowledgeable, and genuinely enjoyable. That said, the addition of II Palio is second to none! This hotel and restaurant isn't just a "hotel restaurant"--it's a memorable destination AND we're already planning our return!!

First, what attracted me to it was its great location, just at the point where Chapel Hill and Carrboro meet. So it's more or less within walking distance of the Old Campus of UNC, the main part of Franklin Street and also of Weaver Street and other parts of Carrboro. Plus, it's right across Main Street from Gourmet Kingdom, my favorite Szechuan Chinese restaurant in the state. As a Hilton Diamond and fan of Hampton Inns, I appreciate being upgraded to a junior suite and getting free parking, instead of having to pay $12. Speaking of parking, it's a little confusing. Hampton has two floors (think it's the fourth and fifth) of a public garage that serves a small shopping area. There are also six Diamond spaces near the entrance to the hotel on the first floor of the garage, but they were occupied when we checked in. The parking lot is free to shoppers but costs most Hampton guests $12 (again, Diamonds excluded), which is a little weird. In most ways, this is a standard issue urban Hampton, with good, if the usual limited service, and clean rooms. I must say this Hampton is showing just a little wear and tear since the first time I stayed here about five years ago. Nothing serious -- just little things, like a tear in a sofa and worn buttons in the elevators. The A/C struggled to cool the oversized room completely. One other small complaint: The TV is a little on the small side (this in 2019, not 2010 or 2015) and the channel selection doesn't include TCM or any of the Hallmark channels. Prices are slightly on the high side for a Hampton. With taxes we paid nearly $170 for king double regular room, although we were upgraded to a queen junior suite, so I can't complain. Breakfast was the usual Hampton buffet. One new addition was smoothies, in a couple of flavors. All in all, though, I recommend this Hampton Inn & Suites for its great location and solid delivery of quality/value.

I am a Diamond member and he is Silver, but our status didn't seem to make any difference in the quality of the stay or how our concerns were handled. The AC never kept the room cool, even running continuously, and by the second night it was so hot we chose to leave early rather than try switching rooms. The mattress was completely worn out, the curtains were literally falling down, and despite requesting extra pillows, none were provided. Overall, the room felt like a typical college‑area hotel that's been heavily used and not properly maintained. On the positive side, breakfast was good, and the location is very convenient if you need to be close to the university or medical center. However, when we informed management at 1 p.m. that we were leaving early due to all of these issues, we were told there would be no refund or even a discount for the second night. Given the uncomfortable room temperature, poor maintenance, lack of responsiveness, and the fact that loyalty status did not seem to matter, I would rate this stay 2.5 stars at best and would not recommend this hotel unless proximity to the university is your absolute top priority and you're willing to overlook comfort.
