I've been to Lavender a few times now and I honestly don't remember how I discovered it but am so glad I did! They are tucked away in a little strip mall on Vanowen and Canoga. This time, we went to celebrate a friend's birthday. The spa is super clean and the staff is extremely friendly and punctual. They have great prices and deals listed on their website. We each went for the deep tissue massage and boy oh boy was it deep! I had Lucy who was amazing. She asked if I liked stretching (I do) and the next thing I knew I was folded up like a pretzel -- it was amazing. She also used hot stones and I'm pretty sure she got up on the table with me to give me the most pressure she could give. I'm still feeling it today in the best way possible. If I lived closer, I would probably go at least two times a month, but if you are anywhere near the Canoga Park, you should go -- it's relaxing and ahhhhmazing! read more

I would have given this place 4 stars, but this is the second time I booked a 90-minute massage and was only given a 60-minute session. The last massage therapist I had, Tanya, did an awful job. The massage felt rushed and unprofessional. She mostly used one hand, seemed inexperienced, and jumped randomly from one area to another without any flow or technique. Much of the session consisted of simply pressing my body down into the table rather than actually working on the muscles and relieving tension. I even asked her to use her hands more effectively and focus on releasing the pressure in my muscles, but she didn't listen. What a waste of my day off and my money. I was able to get a same-day appointment and specified that I needed a gentle massage it's sometimes challenging to communicate with massage places exactly what you'd like, but I could not have been more pleased with this massage and service that I received. Nana was amazing and was as gentle as she could be. I received the most relaxing massage. I Especially loved the hot stones on my back and in my hands. The only thing I would recommend is making the rooms a little warmer because I did get a little cold towards the end of my session. I have no clue what all these people on the review are raving about. I don't know if each massage "therapist" is super super different (which is not ideal) there should be a standard. You know it's bad when they make you pay up front at check in. My lady was named Cherry and it was one of the worst massages. It was an oil rub, I had to keep asking how much time was left and 20 minutes into the massage I had to tell her to use the rest of the time on my feet ( at least that way reflexology could be utilized ). There was zero technique involved, I was in my head the whole time and I just wanted to turn over and show her how to massage my body. There was no pressure, it was very repetitive slow movement, overall made me have anxiety of how terrible it was. I'm a little torn leaving this review but the cliff notes are: GREAT SPA, I just had a not so great massage therapist. They also ask you to pay upfront which was a bit jarring at first because I've never done that before at a spa. Looking at the security camera set up, I assume they must have had some trouble in the past. They asked me to pay via venmo or Zelle. Not sure if they take cash or not. The spa is beautiful and SUPER clean. It's a very calming environment. I loved that after my massage they provided tea, water and a little chocolate. Such a nice treat after the service. Massages are also super affordable and they have a check in offer for $5 off. My only issue was my therapist, who was picking at my skin as she was messaging me. It made me feel super uncomfortable. I let them know that the last time I went, I had a pretty rough experience because their medium level still felt very painful, but they were very understanding and lowered the level even more. You pay at the beginning and they provide you with a stamp card to fill every time you go + keep track of who's doing the massage to try new people out or request the same person. The physical location is beautiful and clean. It's $65/hour and I chose the Swedish massage and it's a full body experience. You do have to take off everything except your underwear! At the end, you go outside and they give you a tea and water with kisses chocolates and you can sit and take a moment to continue relaxing before heading out. My second appointment was even better than my first!! I was running a few minutes behind and they accommodated me (thank you btw). My therapist was excellent.
