I strongly advise against doing business with LaVida Massage in Crestwood. I went there to cancel my membership the week of Memorial Day, when i was on vacation. When i canceled, the girl at the desk said i wouldn't get charged for July and i had to use my massages by yesterday. So as i was leaving Saturday night, i just casually confirmed. As the girl was looking at it she goes 'oh wait. This wasn't processed until June 13. I explained i was there the week of Memorial Day and that's when i canceled. She called the owner. I heard him on the line saying I'd still be charged for July. I'm responding in the background because i hear what he's saying to her. I say ok fine. I'll let you figure it out with the BBB. i then ask for a copy of my cancellation and he tells her to tell me if i want it, i can come in Monday when a manager is present. I asked for it again. He continued to push the issue of me returning Monday (after i would have already been charged for the month). I said fine, then I'll call Crestwood PD to help me get it. I then hear him say 'tell her go ahead and call them.' So i do. While i am on the phone giving Crestwood the address, the owner tells the receptionist to print me a copy. So she gives me a copy and i tell the police, 'I'm sorry for wasting your time. They've given me a copy now that I've called you.' The owner, who must have heard me say that, has the girl at the desk put him on speaker so he can tell me that he's not afraid of the police and that's not why he let her print out a copy of my cancellation. i can't even tell you what he said after that because the employees at the desk looked horrified and both kept mouthing 'I'm so sorry.' And the one girl motioned for me to just leave despite the owner continuing on. So i left while he was still running his mouth and i said 'yeah enjoy your review buddy.' On my way home, I then get a call on my cell phone from the owner. He doesn't identify who he is or anything. He just started talking 'yeah i want you to know i gave you a copy of that because..' i interrupted him at that moment and i said 'do not call my cell phone' and hung up. Then he started texting me. First to say he will process the cancellation and then to reiterate he's processing the cancellation but trying to insist that i was there and filled this out on June 13th because that was when it was uploaded. (Also, the date on my cancellation agreement was scribbled out.) After about 30 minutes of ridiculous text messages, i finally asked him to stop. After one last text, he finally stopped. I'm glad he canceled my membership finally, don't get me wrong. But I've never in my life had an owner of a company act in such an unprofessional manner when trying to resolve a conflict. Not worth the time or hassle. The two stars are for the staff, who, despite the owner's example, are actually quite nice and friendly. read more

I have been a member at this location for a couple of years. Booking appointments is very easy through their app (and you get points towards freebies) and someone calls the day before to confirm your appointment time. My go-to massage therapist is Krystal. She has given me deep tissue massages which were fantastic (always using the correct amount of pressure) as well as gentle Swedish massages. James and recently Tierra are my back ups therapists. During my 2+year membership at this location I have only had one issue arise and it was swiftly, professionally and effectively handled by the owner. Have interacted with LaVida twice. The first time the front desk messed up our massage times, twice and had to call to reconfirm, then tried to put my Boyfriend and I in the same room even though we requested separate times. Afterwards, my boyfriend and I finally came for a massage, the massage was really good for the pricing. HOWEVER, yesterday (Sat) we called to make an appointment for today (Sun) and even though it was half an hour until closing we didn't get an answer until an hour after opening the next day. The appointment was made for two separate slots for an hour massage. A few hours later, they call to cancel those times because their therapist is "having car trouble", and they want us to come in separately at two different times. Not professional, terrible front desk skills, and the last time we were there the front desk openly spoke about technicians, as well as had huge hickeys on her neck. If I didn't have to, this place wouldn't even get a single star. I bought my husband a gift certificate for his birthday almost a year ago. I was finally able to make him an appointment and get him to go. I requested a certain person for him. When he arrived she had left. He was stuck with the worst person ever to get a massage. He is walking in the back following this woman, and he noticed that she had deodorant stains on her black shirt. He said it looked as if she hadn't washed her shirt for days. So, fine whatever, she instructs him to take off all his clothes and lay down on his stomach. She comes back after a few minutes and starts massaging him. She never worked out where his back is actually hurting. Now he knows a massage will hurt sometimes at first to loosen up the muscles. But he was never able to relax. She dug her elbows into his back extremely hard. She moves down to his lower back and upper butt area. She ended up leaving bruises on his butt. So after massaging his back, she instructs him to turn over. All he smelled was her breath of death, as she massaged his neck and shoulders for about 2 minutes maybe less. Than told him the hour was up. I really don't understand how someone so dirty and smelly is actually aloud to work at a place that looked so nice. Or how they could even ignore my request for him to have a masseuse that I requested for him. I don't think they will be open too long if they employ these types of people. read more

Willie the owner and his so called manager are very rude ~ purchased a gift card for Xmas in December. My niece went to location in January 5th to only find out they were closed and moved to a new location that has not opened yet. January 29th @ 8:30 drove by new location and sign on door says "we will be opening soon "phone number" and sorry for the inconvenience" I was extremely disappointed that she could not use her gift. January 30th I called and spoke to a female regarding the situation and she rudely stated that she should of called they were open for a week now. The sign should have been taken down but wasn't and offered no apology. I was embarrassed that I gave a gift she was unable to get. Per manager my niece should of called and not been stupid to just drive by. My niece lives in the area and didn't call but drove by several times. I asked her position and was told manager, so I asked to speak to the owner. The owner gets on phone and argues that no sigh is on the door and basically we are making this up. I asked for money back he said no returns. He still continued to state no such sign on door even though his manager said it should have been taken down. He also disclosed information on why he moved paying so much in rent for previous location, I did not need to know any of that! Owner then claims manager is also owner. No one wants to take ownership for their actions,they are confused who is in what position. I told owner I was going to put a review and chalk it up to a loss and send my niece else where and hung up phone. I then get a call back immediately from owner and I told him do not call my number and hung up. He then called me again and stated right away that he doesn't care about my review and I can bring receipt back for a refund and hung up on me. Who runs a business like that??!!?? How extremely rude, you should never treat customers like he did especially when your business is about referrals. He will never see me nor my friend ever! Since there are no reviews i figured i would post from the start to the end. I'll start it off with stay away from here. Please read the entire review to understand. Starting with the phone call to book a massage. I called and everything started off okay. I was told since this was my first time i would get the new client pricing. They are 49 for an hour 60ish for 1.5 hour and 130 for 2 hour. ( mind you massage envy new client price is 99. Anyway i asked if they would beat massage envy and was told that "thats not their pricing, i used to work there. And it is way more. We are better and cheaper" i was told we cant match and i should still go here. I said thats okay i have been to massage envy plenty of times and i will just go there and hung up. They called me back i should reconsider and still come. The second phone call ended with them saying "im not going to beg you to but you sound smarter than that. - Rude so i hung up. They called me back again and said fine we Called massage envy and we will do a 2 hour massage for 99.95 be here monday at 9am. So wednesday was tge massage. They called the night before to confirm - which is good. Got there a little before 9 to do the paperwork. I was greated by the owner ( i was told by him very many times that he was the owner) filled out the required paperwork for a new client. My massage therapist came out greated me and took me back to the room. She asked what pressure i like, told her light to medium. She stepped out of the room so i undress to my comfort level and got on the table. Nothing againt her but she was short and i am tall 6'3" so my hands touched the floor. She either accidentally kicked or lightly stepped on my hands several times. The massage was ok but i didnt leave feeling relaxed, especially after this next part. She finished and told me she would wait outside the room with water whe i was ready. As I got dressed I looked at the clock it was 10:28. Doing the math thats only 1.5 hours. Oh well reduced my tip to her and went to pay. The owner relized that she screwed up and made come out and look at the computer and appoligse to me. They told me to go back in to finish but come on im already dressed, im not going back in. Here is where it got weird. The owner only charged me $60 because they screwed up. Even though I had already agreed to pay $67 becuase of their mess up. The owner kept me there for another 35 talking to me about his personal life. Showing me pictures of him on his death bed after being hit by a drunk driver. He also showed me what pills he takes, and i kinda got the feeling he was trying to see if i wanted to buy any from him. Several times he told me people pay him $10 a pill. He also told me several times " I am the police" i guess he is/was an officer somewhere but never said where. Why am i still standing in front of him im not sure but I did He also went of to tell me he has kids with 2 women and he is/thinking about someone in another state to hook up with it. LaVida was the first place I received a full body massage. I've been addicted ever since. I've seen almost every therapist at this location. I don't have any complaints. My faves are Jae, Sharene, Joy, and Krystal. For an added bonus, if possible, book Krystal for a massage and facial to follow. Soooooo good! I would recommend becoming a member, as it's a discounted rate, and if you want more than one session a month, the discounted rate helps. Willie, the owner is a nice guy. His passion for massage comes from an accident he was in, as he is in chronic pain from it. Massage therapy definitely works in relieving pain. I didn't mind listening to his story (could be bc I'm a nurse) or seeing the pictures. Just a tip... make sure you book your appointment early enough. Spots fill up fast! read more

If I could give it a negative star I would. I signed up for a membership asking about the cancelation policy and was told I could cancel at any time either by phone in person or email. I was not told that I would have a limited amount of time to use my remaining massages after cancelation. After not being able to get a massage I decided I would like to cancel my membership I have 3 unused Massages. I asked if they could be put on a gift card for someone to use them in my place, but they said no and that I only had 30 days to use the massage. Now I have the busiest time of year to trying make up these 3 massages or lose out on $150 . The owner was rude and not understanding at all. i asked for a deep tissue massage with focus to my aching low back. instead i got a relaxing full body massage. it wasnt bad but not what i wanted. the owner, who was running the front desk, kept me there talking and complaining about customers for 45 minutes after my massage was done. he was very unprofessional and complimented my eyes then continued to compare them to his girlfriends eyes. i felt uncomfortable and stuck, thank goodness another customer came in because i bolted for the door! the environment was very relaxing and looked nice read more

I was a loyal customer for a few years now. Always had great massages with Krystal or Jae when I would get in. I recently cancelled and explained I am moving and would be out of the country for 2 weeks. I was told my last payment would be July and I had 30 days to use up my appointments. I have about 10 on file because I was cancelled on or the location was closed unexpectedly for 2-3 weeks in December when I had about 4 massages scheduled. I tried to catch up but they have few openings since they are understaffed so I have been repeatedly behind on using my massages. I tried to work with Willie, the manager, but he is not a nice man. He yells and berates loyal customers. I cancelled in June but was charged in August when I was told and have a cancellation form stating my last payment would be July. I spoke to Willie today and he was nasty and rude. I told him I would call Corporate and he laughed and yelled they can't do anything about it since he is independent and not financially tied to them. I called and unfortunately, Corporate can't help. All I asked for was time to use up the almost $500 worth of massages I have been unable to use with them. Willie doesn't care about loyal customers so I am writing this to warn you to be very careful with signing up with him. Good luck with cancelled appointments and dealing with Willie. I had a 3:15 appointment for a facial. I show up at the Crestwood location at my scheduled time only to be told I'm not in the system. Unfortunately I didn't record the phone call making the appointment. So I couldn't remember the date I called or who I talked to or who my appointment was with. When I booked the appointment the girl made it sound like there was only one person doing this. The guy at the front desk was so lacking in customer service. No I'm sorry something must have happened. No let's see what we can do to make this right. Just you're not in our system therefore I'm done with you. Let me look busy while I stare at my computer & wait for you to leave. Too bad he was training somebody to man the desk. The lack of customer service will continue to live on at this location. I got a massage there once and it was okay, although my back was sore the next day. It was deep tissue so I think that's normal (?) A month or so later I made an appointment after a lot of back and forth on the phone. They couldn't get me in on the day I wanted (a Friday) but could squeeze me in on a Saturday. Fine, whatever. My husband drove me and dropped me off since I had booked an hour long massage. After waiting for the receptionist to get off the phone and acknowledge me, she informed me that my therapist wasn't there and wouldn't be able to do the massage that day. She said they called to tell me which a straight up lie. Never got a call, text or voice mail from them. Had to call my husband to come back and pick me up because he'd already left. HORRIBLE!!!!!! Do not go to, do not give any of your business to this location. Let me explain. I bought my wife a gift certificate for a one hour massage. When I walked into the store the owner/manager Willie responded to my one hour massage request by merely asking did I want to add a tip to that amount? I did of course, payed the rate he quoted me then left. My wife went into the salon, received her hour massage and upon leaving thinking that she was ready to go she was told by the cashier that she couldn't go anywhere until she payed the remaining balance. She informed the cashier that she received a card for an hour massage. After waiting for a half an hour the manager Willie spoke to my wife very rudely. He raised his voice several times, argued with her, and made her feel very uncomfortable. He said that it was her fault that she never should have received that rate, that that rate was for first time visitors. That being the case he should have realized that when he entered all the information in upon ordering. He then responded to my wife's posting on Facebook with lies about the incident. This location is ridiculously unprofessional which I have heard from multiple people that had previously attended the Crestwood salon. Not Reaxing at all. read more
