It was a Friday so it was pretty slammed in there but Nathan made sure we signed in after he asked what services we needed. After a short wait Nathan got started on my removal & my husband got sat for his pedicure. I would like to mention that Nathan was just absolutely running the floor. We are snow birds and I decided to get my nails done in March before heading back to Missouri. First of all Nathan did my nails and when I made my appointment I asked for dip nails. Well I ended with some type of gel that actually held up really well. The problem being is that one of my nails got infected and it took me about a month to clear that up, and another nail was filed into my nail bed, and now it is still sore and turning brown. It started turning brown about 2 weeks after getting home. Now, my tech has to be very careful taking the old off. Also, Nathan likes to do what he wants not what the customer wants. I wanted the tips painted a couple of colors but he insisted on doing them white. He said it was much easier. I probably should have stood my ground on that one. I am the customer and should get what I want. I definitely would not recommend this salon, and won't go back to it next year. read more

This is all personal preference. Not what I expected or am accustomed to. I'm here for a relaxing weekend and decided to get a pedicure. It's a typical nail salon. Nothing fancy and kind of dated. Folks are nice enough and there wasn't a wait. I figured most folks are at the beach on a Saturday afternoon. Did I get what I pad for, mostly. Did I like the person doing the work, I suppose. The problem is he just wasn't good at his job. Totally my opinion and someone else might think he's the best ever. But let me give you a few specifics. To start off with, he set a timer. I've never had any one do that and found it odd, especially since it was not busy at all. I'm not sure if it was to make sure he didn't go over the 55 minute time or to make sure he went the full 55 minute time. He is horrible at giving massages. It was not relaxing at all. He held the hot stone like it was a paintbrush and just kept going in small, fast circular motions. It felt like he was washing dishes instead of giving a massage. Not relaxing at all. He also never massaged my feet. He kept focusing on my shins....which is weird too. Like, I have calves and feet that also have tired, weary muscles. Lastly, he didn't really attempt to work on the callouses on the bottom of my feet. It was more like a super quick drive by. Maybe he just needs more training and this is seriously a first world problem, but enough to make me feel like I need to leave a review. So back to, did I get what I paid for? Yes, and no. I did get a pedicure and he did all the things but not really. And part of what you pay for is the experience and the relaxation and there was absolutely zero on that one. I've had a pedicure but it felt like more of a polish change. Here I am one hour later and I still have sore, un-massaged feet. I did really like the music they played there though. That was the best part of the whole experience. read more

I stopped in while on vacation because I didn't have time before we left. They have a ton of colors, which was really nice and made it easy to match the photo I brought in. I went here for a standard manicure/pedicure. The tech who did my service wasn't very friendly and was very rough for both services. I don't get colored manicures and just requested a clear coat of standard nail polish. She ripped my cuticles pretty badly and made me bleed, then applied gel coat without the UV treatment. It all peeled off within 24 hours. When I returned the next day to get it fixed, the service wasn't very nice and sanded my nails down to the beds and made me bleed again! My nails are dirty and have dust bits stuck in the polish. This place was generally not very clean and their work is shoddy and rushed. I would not recommend any services here. Update: less than 5 hours after my second visit to fix the manicure, the polish has started to peel off. I am not generally hard on my nails and I've never had such an awful experience as this. read more

They said the nail techs were really good and they were offered wine (sprite for my kid) and snacks while they had the job done. LaVie specializes in gel and/or shellac and recommends this as your polish choice. I do not use gel as it damages my nails so I looked at the equivalent non gel polishes, which they do carry. Kathy did my nails and was very patient as I chose a color. She shaped my nails nicely, which is important to me, and they looked beautiful at the end. Kathy was kind, patient, gives a massage that is magic, and a great nail technician. I was very happy with the way my nails came out. The owner or manager of the salon was also very helpful. Things to consider if you go here though: there were ants crawling around the pedicure chair space, which happens in a beach town, but was unexpected, and they really do seem like they want you to use shellac. I was, and still am, looking for a salon with non toxic, 5 free, 7 free or 9 free polishes and nail polish remover, which is difficult to find most places, I realize. But I still always look. I enjoy getting manicures and pedicures... especially a pedicure as a treat. If anyone knows a salon or spa in the area that carries these, I'm interested. But again, I know this is hard to find. Kathy was great (thank you!) and the salon was very friendly, they took me as a walk in about 90 minutes from closing and my nails were beautiful. read more

I didn't think that spending hours in a salon was my idea of a good time, my wife got her nails done here for the first time bc their picture looked great plus , You have to try something new once, right? But her nails did not come out anywhere near like pictures are shown or what the picture she showed them for one her nails were all the way to her cuticles to where her skin is stuck in the nail and they were thicker than the picture we continued to tell Nancy but they continue saying it would look better after she was done yet they still looked the same and since we said something she literally starting being rude and really aggressive. A little late on my review, but wanted to make sure I had a chance to give some feedback. My daughter and I visited over Spring Break, and they had just opened. They were so nice and welcoming. The salon was very clean and they definitely had their COVID-19 protocol in place, which I very much appreciated. It was very easy to make an appt via Yelp and they responded quickly. Best place for a manicure. I've had my nails done for years but had started dreading it so bad. They would have me in a chair sometimes two hours all while packing on acrylic so thick it was ridiculous. Today I tried Lavie. I was greeted by Nathan who was attentive and very gracious. My sister and I made an unplanned stop at Lavie Nails and Spa today. Best decision! The shop is super clean and the owner and staff are amazing. We had the higher-end essential oil pedicures and they were fantastic. 75 minutes of relaxing pampering. I followed it with a much-needed manicure. Chose the aloe vera one and it, too, was fantastic. My tech was a young man (Bang) and he did a terrific job. Found out as we were checking out that they were running a grand opening promotion, so all of our services were 30% off.
