Another place that I've been to many many times but for some reason I've never reviewed. Law Bird is one of the best cocktail bars in Columbus. I love how innovative the menu is and how it is always changing. The MOMA menu was one of my favorites but the one they have currently is sooooo good. The staff is great, super friendly and great vibes. They also do fun little themed pop up events as well as cocktail classes which I find super cool and unique. The mini martini is one of my favorites but you really can't go wrong with any of their drinks. I love coming here and will continue to come and support them

I will keep this simple. Step 1: Get there at 5:00 sharp on a Sunday because by 5:15 you might have trouble getting seated. Step 2: Get your drink on. Their cocktail menu is several pages long, seasonally rotates, and has something for everyone's fancy. Step 3: Tip your server. They are very knowledgeable about the menu and can help curate selections to your preference.

Lighting was perfect and I loved the cherry blossom decor during their springtime City Pop pop up!! Drinks were mixed perfectly and miso honey butter + bread was sooo good

Holy cow. Seven stars out of five. I don't drink very often. Not anymore anyway. But I enjoy a good beer, and a good cocktail. I've heard a lot about this place, but it never really seemed like my thing. And it wasn't open during the day so I couldn't get there as easily. Today, I had some time on a weekday evening, and stopped by. Street parking was scarce but available. The place is cozy in that Brewery District/German Village way. Lots of windows. Friendly, professional bartenders. I wasn't very hungry, which was fine because they only have a light food menu, small plates. I got the smoked salmon, expecting lox I guess. It was canned salmon, but very, very good canned salmon. Accompanied with very good crackers, and a great house made caper mayo. You can also get hot sauce and other sauces, but I went with the basics. Everything here is carefully curated, and all of the items on the tray went together perfectly. It was a nice snack or appetizer. A thing you might get if you came here for a drink and an app before you went somewhere else, or after going somewhere else. For me, tonight, it was just enough. And I debated getting a non-alcoholic cocktail, because some of them can be made that way, but the Swedish-inspired old-fashioned sounded great. I love rye, and all of the other ingredients just sounded right together, and sounded right with the salmon. And they were. Just exquisite. I'm not using that word lightly. This was an excellent cocktail, and an excellent duet of food and drink. With excellent service, in a comfortable atmosphere. Oh, and with good music playing. At least for me. The first two things I heard were Cake and POTUSA, and they kind of set the vibe for the rest of the visit. Expensive? Yes. If I was better off, and was serious about cocktails, and lived closer, I would be here all the time. As it is, I will keep track of their menus, because they seem to change, and I will definitely be back once in awhile

Nestled in the Brewery District, this is treasure for hip new restaurants. I love the idea of craft cocktails. You walk in and are greeted by the friendliest hosts that immediately show you a menu. You can order and ask questions before you are seated. Big tables that are shareable between small and large groups. Very clever drinks that each has its distinct glass. They serve food but great place to grab a cocktail (or two) before hitting your restaurant. We need one of these near my town. Highly recommend.

One of the most creative cocktail spots in Columbus. Lawbird is small, but somehow both very hip and very welcoming. They change up their cocktail menu often, sometimes featuring a seasonal or special theme, like their Sakura City pop-up each year that features Japanese whiskey and cherry blossom decor. Every drink is inventive and delicious, often with ingredients you don't find anywhere else and made with care each time. They have a limited menu of bar snacks, or small shareables, so it is the perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks and a few bites before heading somewhere else for a full meal. Great for a date or a night out with friends.

This was our first time in and we attended one of their cocktail classes. This is a tasting series they do a few times a month, each with a different theme. We attended the Japanese Spirits/Cocktails. The owners run the class and lead you through the tasting experience as well as teaching you about the history and flavors. You get 3 half cocktails during the experience, all were fantastic. They also have some light snacks, which we really enjoyed the variety of Japanese snacks! I highly recommend taking a cocktail/spirit tasting at Lawbird. Annie and Luke really make the experience amazing! We can't wait to come back for another! You also get a packet of information highlighting what you learned in class as well as a "build your own bar" list to help you recreate the cocktails at home!

We came for drinks. I got thugs passion " a spritz tupac would fuck with" and honestly it was terrible and I don't think for any amount of minutes Tupac would ever drink that. However, the server was sweet and attentive and the pickles were soooo good. I wish it was all dilly beans, such is life.

Much like a well-balanced drink, Law Bird consistently hits every note with manuvevered precision--the cocktails are elevated without being self-important, the staff are friendly without being imposing, and the atmosphere is vibrant without being overstimulating. At the suggestion of our fantastic server Miriam, we started with a round of their mini martinis, which are a great way to kick-off the experience. From there we enjoyed exploring their current menu which features cocktails that are inspired by famous paintings. Their menus always have options that range from the approachable to the daring, and they also have non-alcoholic offerings so everyone can be part of the fun. I'd love to give an additional shoutout to Miriam who made our recent visit so fun and special and who found room for us even on a busy night! If you're looking for a curated and cozy cocktail experience, you'll find it at Law Bird.

Two faves, one photo: the mini martini and Dole Whip are musts on every visit.

Situated on a quiet corner at the edge of the German Village, this little neighborhood bar is set up in a historic building and well-poised to hold its own among other high-caliber bars on High Street. Often full but rarely overflowing, Lawbird's creative and oft-reinvented menus keep a cultured crowd coming back for more, with crafty themes and a handful of mainstays that maintain a sense of familiarity for those who like to dip in from time to time to bask in the rosy neon glow -- my personal favorites are the $5 mini martini (they default to an olive, but I always order them with a twist) and the Dole Whip. There is no happy hour but with prices as reasonable as these, that's just fine. Limited food and snacks are available, and while parking can sometimes be a pain (street only) it's often free so long as you can find a spot among the brick jungle that is this block of the city. I wish I knew about the venue; the seasoned wooden floors tell a story that stretches back before the bar, but time is entitled to its secrets. It is enough to simply enjoy the place as it is now and enjoy excellent drinks, good company, then move on to the next destination of the night. Where next? Who knows. When you're here, you're not governed by reason.

The best servers!! We stopped in randomly and it happened to be one of the final nights of the sakura pop up. We had so much fun chatting with our server and hearing about all the other pop ups and his fav stuff about the place. Even got to keep some of the menus bc they had cool artwork on it! I got the Dolphin In Town from the pop-up menu and everything we got was beautifully served and yummy‍ Defo recommend!

This is one place that attracts people to GV besides the history and the requisite visit to the Book Loft among other places. It's definitely the place that makes you feel cool and hip for having attended it and feeling a little superior when people haven't heard or know but haven't the chance to go. Lawbird offers regular seating, bar seats, and even seats by the counter. I don't know if strictly allowed, but a couple times I've brought food from the food trucks at Antiques on High and eaten here while having a cocktail. Lawbird does offer small plates, and they're pretty good. I've had the pickled veggies and the feta/hummus and pita. I've not tried the hot dogs (would have to be the vegetarian option. I'm glad I got to take my partner here on my birthday. Was a good way to end the night.

Super cute cocktail bar located in German Village. Visited for the first time after having dinner nearby. The drinks options were unique.

Just wondering if they also are involved with Palm Valley in Bridge park in Dublin?

Doesn't appear so. Palm Valley is owned by Gorilla Cinema Presents which runs multiple trendy cocktail bars in Cincinnati.

Do they have happy hr specials?

Not that I know of. I know that they have Monday night specials with drinks and food, not on the normal menu.

Their visual chart is a…read moregodsend for cocktail explorers, and all of the drinks came out delicious and exactly as described. It's so creative, and the drinks are really the stellar stand out here. However, the atmosphere of those drinks is what gives me pause when thinking about coming back. The limited table situation, tiny cramped space, and loud music means that it doesn't feel particularly relaxing. People are constantly brushing up against you (even at 5PM), and holding a conversation at a normal distance is nearly impossible. NOTE: This place is covered in dust. No shade to the ownership as it doesn't appear to be anywhere near food prep areas (it's on the decor, on/around shelving, all over the faux plants, etc.), but if you're someone who's sensitive to dust, this is probably not a good fit. PROS: -I loooooooove how they've done their drink menu. As someone who is still exploring the potential of cocktails, their nerdy "chart" that places all of their drinks on a sweet/bitter and alcohol-forward/approachable visual chart is SUCH a help. As such, everything I ordered was absolutely amazing for me. I knew exactly what to expect from a drink because of its position on the chart, and it delivered. -Their drinks are really unique. Aqua faba? Fat washed alcohols? Lollipops or toasted marshmallows as garnishes? Super cool. Don't let some of the weirder descriptions creep you out of trying them. -All of their drinks were delicious. Everything I ordered was exactly as described. I often go places where the taste is barely related to its namesake, but they were entirely on-point here. CONS: -I'm not sure if someone called off that night as other reviewers are in love with the service, but our service was really really slow. No real rapport with the staff; just stating the name of a drink as they rushed past and then they were off to try to clean a table or take someone else's order. The drinks they made were great, but this isn't somewhere we'd go if we were in a hurry. -The pictures do not accurately convey how small this place is. Like, it's small. I'd guess less than 1000 square feet. My apartment is bigger by a lot. This isn't necessarily an issue, but it means people pile up quickly as they wait for seating (there's like 4/5 tables and then bar seating). The human walkways are small enough that the bartenders and other guests will brush against you a lot - even while seated. -I get the vibe they were going for here, but with the smaller space, I think a lot of the potential decor options had to "go" in order to fit more humans. It's giving me hardcore The Hearth Room (in Cincinnati) vibes, and I think it could honestly pull it off if it simply had more space. The "relaxed, sophisticated bourbon bar" doesn't quite come through as well when things are so focused on simply fitting in more bodies. -It's loud AF. Like, really, really loud. Between all the people and the blasting pop music, it required leaning into someone's ear in order to speak at normal volumes. We'd regularly have to pause the conversation if something in the music was building to a drop. This is not a place I'd take someone I wasn't very very comfortable with because it really requires being in someone's space to talk. -There's a single all-gender toilet here for everyone in the establishment. It's basically a revolving door of people in and out of it. The door auto-closes, however, so it's really difficult to figure out if it's open or not. There was usually a queue of people waiting in front of the door.

Really in love with its vibes, both indoor dining room with different segments of seatings and outdoor patio tables are amazing. The interior design here is truly unique and artistic. Great for big groups, date night, or even just chilling with friends. Not sure if it's the standard here, but there was never anyone filling our water during the entire dining time after they left 2 bottles of water on the table. Our server is patient and friendly but not on point. They messed up our orders, forgot one order and brought one wrong (we ordered smashed burger but received chicken sandwich). Very surprising that the staff didn't do anything or offer to send in the correct order. The chef of table service for Tomahawk is fun and enjoyable to carry conversations but unfortunately our Tomahawk was overcooked. We loved the presentation for sure though. Their smoked ribs is not "smoked" but boiled and soaked in sauce. The "smoked" part refers to its presentation, but their machine was down, and we were not told, so we basically got the ribs, neither smoked in cooking method nor smoked when it was brought to our table. The donut tree is another one great for eyes and cameras. It comes with little fireworks at the table service. Overall we enjoyed the breeze and atmosphere here. Will come back for relaxation if in town.

That being said, upon opening the door we were told we couldn't come in without masks. Mine was in my pocket, no problem. I haven't left my home (in Tennessee) often enough since the beginning of the virus for it to become habit to automatically put on a mask when I get out of my vehicle. But 9/10 times I remember before entering a public place. The male bartender just seemed rude in the way he told us to put one one. I had read the raving reviews, and being a Yelp Elite myself I know I can and do trust their reviews above others. So....I was really looking forward to trying something new and enjoy watching a bartender do their thing. The bartender pointed to two framed menus on top of a cooler containing seltzer's and canned drinks, and some glass bottles of pre-made cocktails, I think. I would've appreciated the bartender ask me what I liked, and help me decide, but it was easier for him to point to the sign. Customer service absolutely sucked hippo balls. I asked if I could just order a Knob Creek and Coke in a short glass, and a Blanton's for my hubs. Sure!! What I got was a shot of each in a to-go plastic condiment container with a lid, and two big paper go cups (like Burger King) of ice, and a can of Coke, which I told him never mind I had a soda in the truck. We also got two bags of Cheeto's, to make the sale legal. So....we poured our bourbons over the ice in the paper cups. I drank a few sips of mine, yum, even in paper. My husband was just about to take a sip and noticed something stuck in his ice that looked just like a maggot. He walked back across the street and told/showed the bartender, who vehemently denied it came from the ice because it was a brand new bag. Then I noticed 3 of the maggot looking things in my ice, so I went back in and showed my husband and then the bartender. He told my husband it was probably from the citrus he was cutting on a board near the ice bin. They were frozen INSIDE the ice cubes. I'm upset with myself that I didn't take a picture of it, it was gross. I'm upset that a bartender would try to make it seem like it was nothing. After seeing it all in my ice my husband just asked for our money back, and the bartender said, "But I've already poured another." Ummm, sorry, but no thank you. He did give the refund, but I most assuredly won't give them a second chance when I visit Columbus.
