This place is tucked into a corner and is so cute on the inside, perfect for all occasions. This time, we sat at the bar and were greeted very warmly. In fact, the bar tender was very kind and attentive the whole time. The main thing that made us pick this place though was the food that was offered for happy hour. I LOVE mussels, so when I saw that they were discounted as well as pizzas, we had to stop in and try them. The food was absolutely delicious. The Rossi is an absolute Columbus Staple. Delicious food, great service. Great location. You can find parking on the street with additional parking garages nearby. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We were quickly seated. There was only one other couple in the restaurant and we were sat directly next to them which I found odd. So many options on this street, Rossi is one to check out. Quaint restaurant with smaller seating area but impressive menu. This spot is known for the meatballs and pizzas. Guess what? We ordered both! Meatballs, Short Rib Pizza, & Truffle Pizza all hit the spot. The meatballs were huge and the toast points made it a meal on its own. Short Rib Pizza was nice balance of meat and cheesy. The Gouda Creama was so good I wish it was available on the side. Truffle pizzas can be overbearing but due to the balsamic drizzle it helped made it just the right combination. The pizzas can be shared and is the best way to have multiple options. If I get a dessert, it's typically not in the liquid form. But when I saw Pistachio Martini, I would be drinking my dessert. It was rich and creamy but not too heavy. It was so good my friend ordered one after they took a sip of mine! Staff were friendly and offered recommendations. Missed out on the Happy Hour but it looked great. Part of a restaurant group that includes the Press Grill and Club 185, you will see several of the similar menu selections at each location. Each restaurant though has unique features to their individual menus. It is my observation that Rossi is the "fanciest" of the bunch. Press Grill has two locations one in the Short North, which is nearby, and the other Press location is in Grandview Heights. I have posted a menu for your review. My favorite here is a pasta with a Diablo style spiced cream sauce. There's a well appointed bar with a wide variety of spirits available. Apple comfortable seating in the dining area with lighting and ambience that can contribute to the success a more intimate gathering. Standard challenging parking in the Short North, but with some thought and preplanning, you should be OK. If you're not familiar with the area, go online, take a look at some maps and figure out where the garage parking is located. That seems to me to be often the most reliable options. read more

Tried The Rossi Kitchen & & Bar last night for a special event. The restaurant is nice, and the food was great. Server could have been a bit more knowledgeable, but it was a large party. The most important thing was their knowledge of cooking for a celiac. But let's be real -- "mini martini energy" is still the Rossi's brand, so I was relieved that tradition didn't get lost in the corporate sauce. Since the place was already packed early in the evening, the drinks took a beat to get to us, but worth the wait. Food Calamari - $14 Truffle Pizza - $12 1/2 Caesar Salad - $7 The calamari? Shockingly generous for the price. If the hunger was hungrier, that + the salad would've been a whole dinner and a cute one at that. The Caesar was crisp and classic -- always a safe starter. But the Truffle Pizza... It pulled up overcooked and under-sauced, leaning heavily into flatbread territory -- not the luscious truffle moment I hoped for. No acidity, no balance, no real contrast. I left most of it behind and mentally noted: stick with the margherita next time. Tried and true never judged you. Damage About $50 for a pre-game, which feels right for Short North happy hour these days. It had been a long time since I was last at the Rossi and memory served me well, as this place is still great! We started with a bottle of wine, the focaccia and the meatball, all of which was great!Then we had a Caesar which was also delicious. For our main course we had the white pizza which was good, but I wouldn't order it again, and the pasta Rossi with chicken and that was awesome. This could be my second review. Great ambiance, great service, great bar and wine selection. Appetizer highlights are the meatballs which are mandatory, Brussels, Calamari. Finally made it in for a night at The Rossi! I think my favorite part about this place is the atmosphere. Wednesday night and the place was buzzing - definitely my vibe! I lucked out and got to try their restaurant week menu where I was able to try the flavorful short rib ragu. The pasta rossi was great too - super rich and salty. The desserts were ok, but honestly I chalk this up to the restaurant menu. I'd like to see what else they have to offer. The only other constructive feedback would be around the pacing of courses. We were a very slow eating party, but some consideration would have been appreciated. I definitely recommend the bar area for a fun, intimate date night. read more

I adore this restaurant. There's a lot of great Italian food in Columbus and The Rossi is on par with Forno/Marcellas. The drinks are always very strong but good. My first time as Rossi was for happy hour last night. As an Italian who has had my fair share of home cooking, I was pretty impressed with the meatball appetizer. The sauce was so good and had all the flavors you're looking for. I also took advantage of the $6 cocktails and got a mojito and a Paloma. The service was great- I made a reservation earlier that day. Also overall, really cute atmosphere and ambiance, I would love to come here on a date. Came here as a walk-in with two of my girlfriends Saturday night. Thankfully, we were able to get seated really quickly and greeted by our server within just a few minutes we decided to start off with the house bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. It was absolutely delicious. We also wanted to try a few of the starters so we ordered the fried ravioli and the ciabatta bread. The fried ravioli truly reminded us of pizza rolls so a little nostalgic. They were very flavorful and absolutely loved the bread too. It was nice and crispy on the outside and soft and delicious on the inside. For the my entree I got the carbonara my friends ordered the rigatoni and the burger. We went for happy hour on a Friday afternoon. Upon entering. We were immediately greeted by the host and entered into a warm and cozy space. I felt like I was in a historic bar in NY or Chicago. High ceilings, gorgeous wood, padded bar seats and bar face so your legs aren't brushing against a hard surface. We sat at the bar where the bartenders and servers were noticeably friendly and attentive. Ultimately, this is one of my favorite happy hour menus in Cbus (half off pizzas, shareable, and $6 cocktails). We decided on a mushroom pizza, which had a nice umami flavor, crispy thin crust, and was pretty large and more than enough for two people to share. The calimari was crispy, nicely seasoned, and came with a unique basil dipping sauce (plus more traditional marinara). Finally, the margarita was a bit weak but still pretty good for $6. We came here during happy hour and was I was excited to finally visit. Parking is the usual paid street parking. The restaurant is beautiful, the bar is so classy, and I would describe the atmosphere as cool retro jazz. It was a Tuesday evening, very calm and quiet, except for the kitchen noises. Their menu changed slightly, I think they had their pizzas for happy hour previously, but it wasn't this time. However, the OH pizza was delicious, crispy, sweet, spicy, fantastic. I would recommend this pizza, it's very good. We also got the meatballs, bruschetta, and truffle popcorn. I was not expecting the meatballs to be two massive balls, it was good and delicious, just a bit too salty. The popcorn was a bit soggy, but truffle flavor was good. The bruschetta also came on just two slices of bread and covered in tomato and balsamic vinaigrette goodness. The appetizers we got during happy hour ranges from $3-$4. We also got the mini Cosmo and Lemon Drop, and chardonnay to sip and those were good to pair with everything. I preferred the Lemon Drop a bit more, it gave a good sour and sweet balance. Overall, with mini drinks, appetizers, and pizza, the cost was about $53 before tip. It's not too bad when we shared with 3 people. I would come back for their pizza and a couple apps! I really like the atmosphere of the bar and staff was very nice and patient with us. Staff was nice to accommodate us and allowed us to choose somewhere else to sit. I would recommend this place for a casual date, a drink, and a delicious pizza. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the decor of the restaurant. Wanted a good date night - pre concert stop. Hadnt been to The Rossi in a while but quickly remembered why it was such a great spot. North part of Short North area and actually had a lot of street parking nearby. The Rossi is small so highly recommend reservations - although tonight we hadnt planned ahead and we lucky on timing (had a nice hightop for two near the bar. Vibe is casual with first class service and high energy. Everyone there looks happy and socializes with their gang. Barstools 12-14 were packed with friendlies from side to side. Hostess was super friendly and seated us quickly. Our server, Connor, popped over really quick for intro and drinks. We later learned it was only his third week, but he was a rock star! Thanks Connor. Started with a glass of wine (good selection to choose from) and an Bourbon (great selection) coupled with their Bread Service - really fresh hot bread. Highly recommend this simple start. We also saw the couple next to us had the bruschetta and it looked amazing too (nice time). The menu (see pic) has something for everyone. For dinner we split the Leafy green salad and the Salmon (Connor recommendation) and Chicken Parm. Both were beautifully presented and tasted even better. Either dish would be a hit! 2nd review....the 1st one on 4/3/26 has disappeared??? Went here on 4/2/26 for the 1st time. We arrived a little before our 5pm reservation. We were seated immediately. We were taken to a small 2 person table next to a wall. I asked if we could have a bigger table. I was told if we were given a bigger table we would need to leave by 6pm. We decided to keep our original table as we didn't want to feel rushed thru our dinner. We were celebrating a birthday. A few minutes after sitting there 2 young girls came in & got seated at a 4 person table in the window right next to us. We didn't say anything. When we came in there were actually a few bigger tables open including the table they got seated at. The 2 girls did leave right before 6pm. We sat at our table until 6:20pm & nobody else got seated at that table. There didn't appear to be any valid reason we couldn't have sat there?? I had to sit my purse on the floor. The staff checked on us frequently except for 1 waitress with long brown hair. Her & our waitress were working the tables in our area. She brought food, drinks, checked on all the other tables & reset them as patrons left. She never checked on us 1 time, but walked by us without saying a word multiple times. However when we were leaving she made sure the tell us goodbye. We made the best of our celebration. The restaurant did give a complimentary desert & the food was good, but something felt off at this restaurant?? I'm not sure if we would go back or not. My friends and I were for restaurant week. My friend was in-town for work and she's talked highly about Rossi so we were all looking forward to it. They had a small but mighty Restaurant Week Menu. We all ordered the Toasted Ravioli for our appetizer and it was delicious, were toasted to brown perfection. If you are planning to split them with multiple people I would recommend ordering two orders if so, you are not gonna wanna share! For my entree I ordered the Pasta Rossi and WHEW! It was exactly what I was looking for in pasta, (me and my boyfriend loved it) a creamy tomato sauce with chicken that had amazing flavor! Would definitely come here and order that again! Allow me to rave about the 4:00 - 6:30 happy hour at Rossi! 1/2 off their snack menu and meatballs, and those are some good meatballs! The marinara sauce in which they're smothered are terrific. On the snack menu, the bread service is soft, tasty and served with sea salt tinged butter that makes the dish noteworthy. I tried the giardiniera which featured larger than expected pickled vegetables which were a fine balance to the bread and meatballs. Drink-wise, the happy hour menu mostly features discounted wine pours, but I opted to go with a $4 draft which left me with no regrets. Though I was getting full, I split the Pasta Rossi with my wife. The kitchen was nice enough to divide their signature entree into two small plates for us which was emblematic of the great service there. We wanted the tiramisu for dessert, but it wasn't available on the day we visited. We settled for a tasty limoncello cake which they comped for us.
