I needed a part for my Mahindra tractor, but Lawn Care Equipment was out of stock. Darrick in the parts department went out of his way to send me info of the nearest dealers that actually had the part in stock. I was able to get the part ordered with one of those on his list. In my opinion, Darrick didn't have to do that, but he knew I'd be waiting a long time to get the part from Mahindra. I appreciate that he did that, as I needed to get my tractor back up and running sooner than later. read more

I have a chainsaw with a really dull chain and I have two tree's worth of logs to cut into firewood. So, after Yelping, I came here. The youngster at the desk wasn't sure if there was a chain that fit. It's a small electric chainsaw of unknown origins--it came with the house when I bought it. An older worker came by and the two discussed the situation with the youngster taking my chainsaw away for a bit. When he returned, he had a new chain (still in the box) and had taken my old chain off. So, would have been great if he installed the chain, but at least there was a new chain to be had. I put it together at home, the wrong way incidentally--so I really would have appreciated if someone else did it... I put it back on correctly and I've already cut about 1/2 a tree into firewood. read more

I purchased my first Stihl product here last week. My original reason to visit the store was to drop off my lawn mower for its yearly service. However, they were having a promotion on Stihl products, and I needed a new trimmer... so I asked for sales help. Don, the associate that was helping me, clearly explained the different options. He didn't try to upsell me into something that I wouldn't need. I felt very informed and decided to purchase a new FS 55 trimmer. Before I left the store, he took it to the back and tuned it up, brought it out front and showed me how to use everything, and threw in some saftey gear to keep me protected while I work. When I go back to the store, I'll be sure to ask for Don. By the way, I'm not sure why, but they were offering free hot dogs, wings, and pizza the day I was there. read more

The service was outstanding, they have ice cream and popcorn while you wait! I told them if they come up with a line of women's clothing I think I could get it sold out. hi this is the worst rental service i called them a day before for an aerator and I drove all the way and the guy told me I wasn't booked and then he tried to rent me one for a $300 and the guy who I poke before told me 200 then he calls his boss and he said that aerator wasn't for rental when they hadn't pulled out for me now i am behind on work what a joke fake servic. read more

I bought my toro super recycler and a weed trimmer from their previous location something like 6 years ago. After walking my yard since then and taking up to 3+ hours to mow I finally caved and went looking at zero turn mowers. I got lucky and they had a used one that fit exactly what I was looking for at what I took to be a good price. I got a mulching kit added and a cover. It now takes me about an hour to mow and trim. The snacks are a nice treat as well. read more

Update: called back, now 3 weeks (21 days) since I dropped off my mower. Told (politely) that they haven't started working on it yet, and to call back in 2 days. The wrong item was ordered and when I asked for the order to be corrected Sharon at the parts desk showed NO INTEREST in helping me resolve this issue. I then asked for a refund on the wrong item and was told I would not be refunded the shipping cost and would be charged a "restocking fee". You have lost all future business from me as well as my family and I will spread the word on your poor customer service as far as I can. I've always had great experience with these folks. They look at and know the products they sell. This won't be the cheapest place to buy a mower, chainsaw, or whatever, but if you want something quality that gives long service, talk with them. I appreciate the grumpy reviewers that were hoping for drive through service. This is a small family-owned business that can quickly get overwhelmed if several folks come in at once. Budget a little time and you will discover you are talking with folks with years of experience. It is worth giving them a shot. All my items - chainsaws, mowers and other equipment - are still working years later. read more

It's very funny to see people complain about the wait times for service department at this business. Did you ever think the reason they have a two week backup is because everyone brings their stuff here to get it fixed right and so you can't be first in line? This business is owned by good Christian folks that are friendly, kind, and will loan you a tool or a tech for small repairs on their parking lot if you're in a hurry and need to finish out your day. No one else does that. No one. I drive just a little bit further to get my mowers, parts, and service here because I've been to every lawn mower sales shop in STL and these are the only guys that get it right every time for me and my company. Horrible. I've been there 3 times due to their location but never again. Each time customers outside waited past their posted opening time while watching the employees on the inside watch us but do nothing. Each trip resulted in two week waits for minor repairs but they make up for it by overcharging. I'll make the drive somewhere else to get better service and price. read more

Unacceptable repair timeframe! I've purchased equipment here and consequently try to have the equipment serviced here as well. However, never again! As the other gentleman stated, I was told they're 14 days out on service when I dropped it off. I thought at the time, that seems a little long, but I'm sure it won't actually take that long. Think again! I dropped the trimmer off on May 8th and called on May 22nd (exactly 14 days). I was told by the person who answered the phone that my trimmer was scheduled to be looked at on May 28th....really?! That's insane! Who can go that long without equipment?! For god sake hire on some additional help in the spring! Seems like somebody around this place needs to learn how to efficiently run a business. I'll be taking my equipment elsewhere for repairs and consequently all futures purchases will be made elsewhere too. read more

Worst experience ever. Store strung me along for 6 weeks telling me it would be done this weekend. When I asked for a discount for the amount of time it took and hardship without a mower. The owner told me I should have rented a mower from them. The owner was rude and it was clear rather than be honest and tell me if I go to a John Deere dealer it will be done in a week vs 2 months. Stay away! Was a long time customer. Now under new ownership. Negotiated a deal for a 5k Exmark zero turn based on a price match from a competitor. They then decided not to honor the price. Claimed I didn't have that price from the other dealer. They actually had the regional sales rep call the other dealer and rail on them not to honor the deal at that price and try to persuade them to increase their price. When I came in, LCE claimed I didn't have the price from the other dealer. I consider what they did unethical, at best. The other dealer honored their price, despite the pressure from the regional sales rep. Now a happy owner, no thanks to Lawn Care Equipment and meddling Exmark sales rep. (LCE also claimed they didn't want to trade my Sears tractor because they didn't sell used Sears tractors. Imagine my surprise when I walked by their adjacent location and their were 2 used Sears tractors sitting outside for sale--salesman's response: "Really, I didn't know that." Right.). Sad. read more
