We prepaid again this year for irrigation services, but we just keep getting a polite run-around on when they will actually get here to turn on the system. I have been with this company for over 15 years. I have a feeling they are going out of business. I have left 6 phone messages in 3 weeks with no response. My grass is brown as they did not turn on irrigation system. For 3 weeks in a row I have received text messages that they are coming the next day to turn on system. I do not live there full time but I am betting the system is still not on. I continue to ask they not put chemicals down on a Tuesday as my grass is always cut on a Wednesday. The chemical guy showed up on a Tuesday. He told me he would not place chemicals down. Now for 3 weeks in a row I have received a text he will be putting chemicals down the next day (Tuesday). Again, no response to calls, emails or text messages. All of my services were prepaid. read more

LU has given me the ugliest lawn possible. It's unbelievable I've actually paid for this. I would highly suggest another company. They will not contact me back after asking for pictures of the lawn. Only the lawn guy did who is hard to understand & during a down pour rain no less. Responding to your comment: Lawns Unlimited Ltd. it's a shame you couldn't own up; maybe I would have considered removing this. I don't just rip companies that try harder. The Army worm was never mentioned whatsoever before I cancelled, only 1.5 weeks after. All while I was expecting a call from the owner. Never received one, so called to ask what my money was for the last 3 years. The yard is dominated with weed in addition to this worm. I have well more weed than I started with. Hugo came during that absolute downpour which was worse than the hurricane outskirts that came through. As I noted, Hugo is a nice man, but he is absolutely harder to understand over the phone. I would ask others to call in and ask. It's a shame you couldn't just admit LU has much blame here. Didn't even address the weeds, that's terrible. read more

Lawns Unlimited uses good products and has good service technicians. However their scheduling and back office needs significant improvement. My account is supposed to be on a call ahead requirement, but I NEVER get called ahead of time. How hard is it to have a system that identifies you as a required call ahead customer. I prefer to be at home when they are providing any service so I can ask questions and/or point things out in the lawn that might be a problem - like the current Poa Anna weed disaster that apparently can't be treated?? I use them for lawn care and irrigation and every year when they turn on the irrigation, they never fully check each sprinkler head to be sure it is rotating properly left and right (i.e. not too far or too short either way - too much on the driveway, road or walkways, etc.). I shouldn't have to oversee the irrigation startup, but I also end up needing to do so - they are supposed to be professionals in this area. I am only in the first year of the full lawn care program, but so far a bit dissapointed with the level of weeds still in the yard and being told that at least one of them - the seeding and quickly spreading Poa Anna can't really be controlled without additional expensive treatments, NOT included in the lawn care program. read more

Juan did a really nice job he was patient with all of my questions and explained the controller to me and how to set it up. He had to replace a few heads and dug the yard up in such a way that you would never know he dug the grass around them. My only complaint is the schedule process. I asked the customer service person if they could give me a day they would be here. She was very friendly and explained she could not since they were so busy but that I was on the call ahead list. (I wanted to make sure I was home so I could ask questions about setting up the controller) I called again the next day to inquire again if they had a rough idea when they would be here. Again she said she could not but they had me as call ahead......see where this is going? Sure enough 9:30 ish Monday morning here comes Juan pulling up in front of my house. No phone call, email, text or anything. Everyone was very friendly and did a great job (price was fair, I thought) but this area needs to be worked on. It kept them shy of 5 star rating. Just to be fair I will use them again to winterize my system, hopefully I will get a call ahead of time. read more

He made me aware of a proposal I had signed in 2022 which I apparently misplaced. and had forgotten signing. I apologized for my error and told Mr. Bean that I would write a traction. The owner of the company is incopuitant and dishonest!!! He insisted that his irrigation technician knew what he was doing out at our house. He had winterized the irrigation system in the fall and then in the Spring insisted that someone had rewired the controler.controller. Wanted to charge me for a problem that didn't exist. Beware!! Hidden fees included in bill! Called to have our sprinkler system opened up, when the call was made I made it very aware that we wanted to be present when the guys showed up. We've never had a sprinkler system so we wanted to be there. So the guys showed up when no one was home!! Thank god my husband had the day off so he was able to be there and learn about our system. The guys where there maybe an hour and a half, we gave them a check for a sprinkler head and a new controller and off they went. We get a bill in the mail a couple of weeks later, after giving an initial $120 deposit, we were being charged another $220. We were charged for a two hour service and $100 travel time!!! So beware, I'm sure we were NOT the only service call in Dover that day, I'm sure everyone they serviced in Dover got charged $100 travel time. The guys said they would see us in the fall and call by Oct 1st to set up closing services because they try and do all of their Dover clients at once. They won't be getting our $100 travel money this Oct. You just lost a really good customer!! read more

BEWARE! Very unethical Lawn services provider. Be careful when they recommend replacing any lawn maintenance devices. Their service people are unqualified to make electrical connections. They performed an electrical connection that knocked out electricity and then billed for returning to repair what they messed up. When we retained them to maintain our sprinkler system, they immediately told us that we needed a new system. Unfortunately, we were away from home and took their word for it... THAT WAS A MISTAKE. Lawns Unlimited can not be trusted to honor their signed contracts or the application rates or products they SAY has been applied to your yard. I had a signed contract with the owners signature to repair some sink holes in my yard. I signed the contract and sent a check for one half of the contract price in March 2017. When they came to do the job several months later the workers said the job was too big for the contract price and the owner said he would not honor his signed contract. I did not get my deposit back until late September, only after calling several times! This week (9/18/18) Lawns Unlimited applied their early fall application. On their bill they indicated they had applied 149.9 lbs Polyon and a 31.5 fluid oz of Battleship 111. I could find not evidence of the Polyon on my yard since it is a coated pellet. I called Lawns Unlimited a couple of times to discuss the application. When the agronomist returned my call he indicated they had changed their products and had not applied the Polyon or the amount of Battleship indicated on the bill. I want to start off by stating the lawn treatments we received were good and brought our lawn back to life. Unfortunately, the customer service is extremely poor. From day one we have had issues with billing and unauthorized repairs on our irrigation system. We agreed to automatic repairs on our irrigation system up to $200. After the first visit, we received a charge on our account for $378 for a repair of a broken pipe that neither my husband or I authorized. This repair was not brought to our attention and the charge took money away from our prepaid irrigation package. In addition, the irrigation package we choose had 5 visits included. Whoever processed our initial paperwork entered the 7 visit package. Therefore, we were being charged for more frequent visits that we did not authorize. After many unanswered emails and phone calls, my bill was never resolved. I discontinued our service and would not recommend them. read more

Perhaps things have changed over the past 5 years but 5 years ago. They could not identify Nutsedge and that it was difficult to get rid of and had nothing when Lowes carried a post emergent ratifier that worked fine. Then they could not identify Barnyard grass . Then and I quote after asking my backyard was noticeably less green than the front, " It needs O2" the cost to aerate and oversees was ridiculous but I greened it up with an organic Fertilizer without the 02. For the price I was able to buy my own aerator and grass seed and still had change. The well fixtures were installed on an angle that eventually caused a sheet crack in a top pvc pipe and generated s leak. An easy fix and nothing to do with unfamiliarity with your systems. It's my system to which you installed a well that had issues and you wouldn't fix while one call to another well installer had them there in 30 minutes and charges me for parts only. About 10 bucks. After a full season of spending money for everything from Fungicide treatment to lime in the middle of winter you wanted me to do something else. I fired you and do everything myself and the lawn looks as good if not better than those with your sign in their yards. We started with Lawns Unlimited last fall and continued with fertilization and maintenance this spring. I contacted them to ask if they would also provide mowing service for the 2019 season. I was originally told that they wouldn't provide mowing service. Then I was assured by the office manager, Susan, that yes they would be able to do mowing service, I questioned this but was assured they would mow my yard. I was even provided with contact information for an existing customer in my neighborhood; I contacted this person and got favorable information. One week ago, I contacted Lawns Unlimited and was told that the first mowing would be March 26, 2019. Today I received a phone call from Lawns Unlimited informing me that they would not be providing mowing service in my community. I feel this is unprofessional and makes me wonder how reliable the company is. read more

Lawns Unlimited has the worst customer service. They are rude and uneducated about their own services and processes. I have a maintenance agreement with them to turn on and off my irrigation system. I paid, in advance, for 3 visits. In my neighborhood, Lawns Unlimited has been there 3 different times turning on neighbor's irrigation system. I spoke to my direct neighbor and he just called last week for the service appointment. I called Lawns Unlimited and asked why I haven't been serviced yet. She told me that they are booked solid with appointments and couldn't fit me in. They can only do 10 appointments in a neighborhood a day. But, I have a contract - doesn't that put me near the top? She continued to say they are booked and will get to me when they have more appointments scheduled in the neighborhood. I asked her when people from my neighborhood called for service months ago, why didn't they look up to see if anyone in that neighborhood had a contract so they could be added to the service call for that neighborhood. She then became agitated and rude. I asked what advantage is it to have a contract with them. I pay in advance for the year for 3 services but get serviced behind people who don't have contracts. She couldn't answer any of the questions so I asked for a manager. She slammed the phone down and needless to say, I haven't heard from a manager. My advice, don't sign a contract with them or better yet, find another company. After this year, I will not do any business with them. read more
