This Caltrain staff is horribly unprofessional. Beware! :(
Lily L.

I have been taking Caltrain for the past year from Lawrence to SF for work. I'm a big proponent for supporting public transportation. Has always liked Caltrain and all its staff even though my company provides a corporate shuttle from my area to work free of charge. For the past two days in a row, I've experienced unprofessionalism from a staff/conductor and flawed ticketing system that left me getting off the train distressed and in tears. I really hope Caltrain works on improving its current ticketing infrastructure and flow. Having staff check tickets on train is horribly flawed and ineffective. There's way too many people that abuse it and get away with riding for free. And then there's people like me, who spend $200+ a month on Caltrain that ends up getting unfairly kicked off the train, left stranded, ID confiscated and issued a ticket for $380. When it's two days in a row by the same guy, I just feel victimized now. Yesterday: There was a ClipperCard machine error. I tagged on but somehow it didn't show on my ClipperCard even though I had a $190 balance on the card. This is easily fixed if Caltrain has an entry barricade and have staff at the originating station to deal with machine/ticketing errors. Not letting me get on the train if my card didn't work is okay. It's better than dealing with this on a moving train with no way to explain and fix what has happened. Ticket check staffer publicly accused and humiliated me (loudly) for not buying a ticket and kicked me off the train. Dumped me off in the middle of Hilsdale and it was raining. I had to spend $57 on an Uber to get to work. Thank God for Uber! There's machine/technology errors all the time, is there a way this can be avoided for passengers? Today: I encountered the same ticket check staffer. Recognizing him from yesterday for getting kicked off the train, I got flustered and nervous so it took me a while to find my ClipperCard. Just a few long seconds of looking for my proof of purchase, he started making a scene about how I didn't pay for my ticket and demanded that I give him my ID card. He took my ID card, went away with it and wrote me a $380 ticket. When he came, I gave him my ClipperCard. It showed its paid. I told him he's rude and should've given me some time to look for my card. He yelled at me saying that I'm the rude one. This is all incredibly embarrassing and unecessary. I also feel extremely uncomfortable he has all my personal information from my ID card. Can Caltrain staffers treat passengers a little bit more kindness and compassion? We're all just trying to get to work to make a living and sometimes stuff happens. I have never purposely not paid for a ticket and deeply offended and feel wronged for being accused like this two days in a row! I am sad I no longer feel comfortable riding Caltrain. I know it's not fair because every Caltrain staff has been nothing but nice and helpful in the past. I just don't ever want to experience this again. So disappointing.

A bit hard to find and if you sneeze you could potentially miss this place if you're supposed to be picking someone up.

$7.75 to go to SF, no traffic...hard to beat that. It's well located and everything was clean, safe and easy.

On this station it will be up graded but it's gonna to be awhile. I read the story in the San Jose Mercury News Paper on March 13,2013.

You can take it clockwise (gray route) or counterclockwise (red route). The shuttle is clean and spacious and has free wifi; when I rode it on a Saturday, it was pretty empty. Its weekday hours were also recently expanded to 7am to 7pm, making it a viable work commute option. You can even track it live via a website or phone app (I haven't tried the app), which makes catching the shuttle a breeze. I did notice both times I rode the shuttle that there was an incident of someone shouting at the driver to stop because they needed to get off, but it was hard to tell whether the driver had missed their stop request or they had tried to get off somewhere that wasn't a stop.

I am not from Mountain View but this cute little shuttle does great magic for people who are native to the area. People of all ages ride this. There was one time where it can be full of young people who want to save gas on getting around their city of residence. Other times it's a mix of people from age 4 to 85 that want to go to the doctors, San Antonio Shopping Center or a random Starbucks. On Saturdays it can go near Shoreline so if you are biking near the VTA bus yard this bus can be your resting area thanks to their bike racks. I live in a low-income area of San Jose and are really jealous that nothing like this exists near where I live. I wish it did so I could save money on gas. Note: We are still in a pandemic so please wear a mask. Staff here wear masks and seating is limited so continue to social distance.

I was in desperate need for a ride home and by chance and fate, YTCC came in just in time. I didn't have to wait long for a taxi to rescue me. This was one of those incidents where price is not an issue because I need to get home during a desperate time. Top of the line service indeed. My driver was actually right on time and drove with great caution all the way to my flat. That's a win there. I haven't rode a taxi since high school but this place did a good job of helping me reconnect with those times again. If you are down, messed up or drunk, Yellow Taxi Cab is your hero.

Within 2 minutes I was able to book a cab ride with Nick and asked him to come in about 20 mins. To my surprise, he was there within 15 minutes outside my door! I would definitely recommend this cab service for anyone that needs a last minute ride. Extra plus for the cab being an eco friendly Prius and clean.
