Car and taxi stand. On the side closer to the airport. There's on the other side as well.

This "newer" state of the art (at the time) Bart and Caltrain station has gotten old quite quickly. It's sketchy during the night and abandoned during the day ( like any of the stations on the Bart line ), but sadly there really isn't anything to do nearby. I grew up in Millbrae and while there's an In-n-out nearby if you're adventurous, don't stray too far before missing your train. A busy hub when it comes to Giants games as well, so be prepared to search for parking on your way into the city. Overall bland and the area around it sucks. Check out the palm trees that must cost a fortune to maintain. This ain't San Francisco or Palo Alto yet.

This place is clean. In an OK location. Trains roughly run every 45mins. Access to BART or to the Airport is seamless from here and not expensive if carpooling with rideshare from this location you will save a bundle plus beat a lsrge chunk of traffic and wasted time if you go online and do some work. Look at times. Time yourself accordingly. Save a good 20 to 25 bucks a day. Also be aware at nights homeless activity and transient on the catwalks or exterior perimeter working people for money. Parking is plentiful and local law enforcement has a station nearby. Taxi service is here 24/7. Access to SF And Oakland games are easy. Prices are very comparable and 30% less than taxi or rideshare if timed right no surges and some fares are free if the Giants or a company sponsors a designated sports train. Lots to know. Enjoy your trip.

The main transfer point for Bart and Caltrain. It also is a good source for airport parking if youre organized enough to reserve in advance. Seems to be under utilized if you ask me. Sometimes if Guittard chocolate is i. Full swing, this place smells like brownies and/or chocolate. Weird!

    Well lit.

Very well lit at night in what appears to be a safe neighborhood abs it's still in zone 1 for Caltrain so getting to San Francisco from here is at it's cheapest rate. It's convenient that you can transfer to the BART as well. Also a convenience is that there are lots of taxis standing by as well!

Headed down the peninsula and this is a pretty convenient transfer point from BART to SamTrans. Clean with benches at each bay.

Ask the Community - Millbrae Caltrain Station

How is parking here? Can I use BART parking if Caltrain parking fills up (without riding BART)? Are parking permits available?

Unfortunately, I believe you cannot technically use the BART parking if you are not taking BART. And, there is a fee for both, and the Caltrain checks their parking 24 hrs. However, I believe the BART does not charge or check after 3:00 or 4:00 pm.

The Millbrae station is of more importance than SF or SJ because it connects you to BART and therefore the city, the east bay, and the airport.

I've ridden BART plenty of times before. Usually it's crowded, sometimes a little grimy, but it gets the job done. This time, though, I was honestly surprised. The SF International Airport station felt clean, organized, and surprisingly calm. Maybe was because it was Saturday? Who knows. Either way, the whole ride felt easy and peaceful -- a really nice way to head home after an emotional airport goodbye.

I love it that it's connected and accessible to both SFO and Oakland Airport as its last stop. While visiting SanFran the traffic can be terrible, and parking is hard to come by, when in areas but many stations are conveniently located near major streets and popular attractions. There are 3 major lines to transverse between NorCal area - yellow, red and blue. The BART is clean and most people respect and follows the rules of "no eating or drinking". I also like now each exits are cornered off in plexiglass....previously it was wide opened so you see a couple local people (mostly teenagers or young adults ) jumping over the turnstiles to avid paying the fares.

If you're going to spending most of your time in the East Bay, Oakland International (OAK) may be the better choice. But, SFO is one of the largest airports in the area and most domestic and international flights comes through here. My last visit was through Terminal 2 and it was adequate for arriving and departing flights. Lots of dining options at this terminal and quite a lot of foot traffic. There were some display exhibits about old technology throughout the terminal, which was neat. Overall was a good experience here. Just wish the pick-up and drop-off areas ran smoother. It can get confusing depending where you're coming or going to, but there's some minor inconveniences half the time coming through SFO. But it all works fine and is a dependable airport.

Adj: Busy International Airport with a Minimalist Design…read more San Francisco International Airport, better known as SFO is an airport I've flown from many times and apparently have never written a review, hmm... Maybe that indicates a nonchalant view of SFO? I usually feel much more motivated to write a review if my experience is amazing or awful, but in between, not so much. SFO would fit in that category. It's a super old airport apparently. In fact, SFO is 99 years old(!) as it officially opened as Mills Field Municipal Airport on May 7, 1927. It started as an airport when "Mills Field Municipal Airport of San Francisco opened a newly constructed wooden Administration Building on a dirt airstrip in a cow pasture that cost less than $9,000 and served 19 passengers in its first month. Today, as a major international gateway to more than 125 destinations, SFO is one of the nation's most innovative and busiest airports serving more than 53 million passengers per year." This quote according to https://www.flysfo.com/about-sfo/happy-90th-anniversary In terms of its ease of accessibility, I recall top level is departures and arrivals are on the bottom when you're driving in to drop off or pick people up. We usually rent a car from Sac and drop off at SFO rental car center, and then take the air train (or whatever it's called here) to get to our terminal to fly out, we do the reverse when we get back to SFO. It's pretty smooth that way and honest, probably cheaper than to drive our own car and park it long-term. In terms of ambiance (or lack thereof, actually), SFO feels cold and institutional in many parts, with art and decorative elements that are all a bit too "abstract" or stark for my taste in many areas, and the waiting areas at gates are all kind of old, drab, and non-descript. Still, it's doing what it's meant to do, just be careful that some areas feel kind of unsafe as they're not very well lit (sky-train stations/stops at night feels that way for a lone traveler esp. for women). Overall, SFO is an updated (although sparsely designed) and efficiently operated airport that's not bad for an international airport.
