So me and my mom went to this dealership to buy a vehicle. We first met with Jeff who is an amazing salesman- very thorough in his knowledge, knows the vehicle, listens to your wants and if very sociable. We decided to go back to the dealership about a week later and unfortunately Jeff was not available so we met with Ned. Ned is a very disrespectful salesmen, does not listen to your wants and needs and does not accommodate you. While we were negotiating on the vehicle I was interested in- he made a snide comment saying "do you have your vehicle keys? Ok well maybe you should take that and leave". Horrible customer service. No respect at all. And very upsetting. If this is what Ned thinks customer service looks like- he shouldn't be in this line of work. He should definitely be reprimanded for his verbiage and behavior because that is just unacceptable. read more

Where do I start? I purchased a used Tahoe and was told that they "went over" the vehicle before selling it. I asked them to check some of the fluids before I picked it up because because some were low. I checked the next day and they did not top them off. A week later I go to get in the Tahoe as I had to be at an appointment in a half hour, and it wouldn't start. I had to purchase a new battery and a new starter. I'll also mention that the A/C isn't working. Come to find out the frion is low. This is my first purchase from Lawrence and most likely my last! This vehicle was not "gone over" very well at all. My husband even said to the salesperson that they didn't clean the vehicle up very much, and he agreed....but they didn't do anything about that! I feel that after paying over $24k for a vehicle that I shouldn't have to be putting this kind of money into it after only owning it for 2 weeks! **Lawrence Chevrolet - Disappointing Customer Service** I purchased my vehicle from Lawrence Chevrolet on December 5, 2025. Less than two weeks later, on December 18, I discovered that the driver's side door was not locking with the remote. I hadn't noticed earlier because I typically lock and unlock the vehicle as I walk away or toward it. The issue became clear when I opened the door without unlocking it and the alarm went off. I contacted the sales department right away, but due to their schedule and the holidays, I wasn't able to get into the service department until December 29. When I did, the service team identified the issue within about 30 minutes and quoted $554 to fix it. The service department spoke with sales, and I was ultimately told the repair would not be covered because I did not purchase an extended warranty. I then contacted the sales department directly and was told this was a "Lawrence family hard line" and that they would not fix the issue. The call was abruptly disconnected during that conversation. The fact that Lawrence Chevrolet would not stand behind a basic locking issue discovered just 13 days after purchase is extremely disappointing. This is something that should have been caught during inspection before the vehicle was sold. For comparison, Mercedes replaced the brakes and rotors on my girlfriend's certified used vehicle six months after purchase--at no cost--because they stood behind their inspection. That level of customer care makes a big difference. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Lawrence Chevrolet if you expect support after the sale. read more

I have had several bad encounters there and won't go back. My husband took his car and said he thought that it needed a transmission oil change. They called us the next day and said to come pick it up and they charged us over 100 bucks. They charged us for a diagnostic that said that the transmission oil needed changing and never changed the transmission oil. Took my car there after hitting a spike. Told them I had insurance for tires through GM. They gave me a cheap tire for a brand new sports car (they didn't have the right tire). They informed me that they didn't know how to use the GM insurance (it was through another dealer). I just tried to put air in that tire, and the cap was threaded incorrectly on and my son had to ruin the cap to get it off. OH Lawrence Chevrolet you need to get new staff and a new business ethic. read more

I was in the market for a brand new vehicle. I had been in a car accident in 2018 that left my car totaled and me scarred from driving! Took me some time to move past my fears of being on the road. I'm a Chevrolet lover. Excluding my first car, I've driven a Chevrolet. I went to Chevrolet's website and built and priced the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox that I wanted. I found one closest to my build and saw that it was available at Lawrence Chevrolet (or once I spoke to Ned Deissler -- In Transit). Ned Deissler, one of the Salesmen at Lawrence Chevrolet, gave me a call first thing December 15, 2021. We spoke at length about the vehicle and when it was expected to arrive at the dealership. Estimated date of arrival was December 22nd, 2021. However that date came and went. Ned kept updated on what was going on with the vehicle and that he would keep a look out and update me on its arrival. The Chevrolet Equinox hit the dealership January 10, 2022. Ned informed me of its arrival and we discussed pickup availability. I decided to pick up the vehicle the next day -- January 11, 2022. My dad and I drove from Philadelphia, PA to Mechanicsburg, PA (2hr drive). Everyone at the dealership, especially Ned, we're friendly and personable -- even to my dad who was NOT looking to purchase. My purchase went smoothly and there were no "greasy salesmen tactics". You know what I'm talking about. Paperwork took about one hour and I was out the door. Staff even let us know about dining options since we had a long drive to get home. read more

Traveled to Grantham PA for a conference. Tried to schedule a repair for a Monday (appointment was made on the prior Saturday) with the understanding a courtesy shuttle was necessary. Went to the appointment to discover that they only have one shuttle driver that is on vacation. Rescheduled for Wednesday when a driver was supposedly available. On Wednesday found a driver was not available and, because of work, could not drop off the vehicle at the agreed 7:30 as I was not informed they did not open until 8:30. Quite disappointed. Bottom line, if you are traveling through the area and need a repair, don't choose Lawrence Chevrolet. read more

Kept my vehicle for over 3 weeks, asked for a loaner and the service managers kept telling me they had none, Checked on vehicle after more than a week and it was outside not being worked on. Carter the service manager said we have other vehicles to work on and your car is a 2006. Wrong answer. After $3300 later two throttle bodies , wiring harness among other things I got my car back only to discover the check engine came on. Took it back and they told me they couldnt schedule it until week later' Poor customer service after all the waiting and without a loner car I would have to wait. Called another dealer and they took the vehicle in the same day. I bought two trucks from them but I will never buy another one and will not recommend this dealer to others. When my usual shop didn't know what was going on with my car I decided the Chevrolet dealership so they can diagnose the issue. I went in they said a lot of items are showing on the scan then they said a new battery and an air intake hose was needed. They could do the battery but need to order the hose. So I paid for the labor, battery and part. I then called a few days later to get this part installed. They said they had the part and so I scheduled another time paid for this labor. Same day the issue was still going on so I called asked if they have a warranty on their diagnosis because it isn't fixed they said no. So, I scheduled another appointment for diagnosis, the tech asked me to explain what is happening and so I explained how to drive the car to get the problem to show up. I then, after an hour, took the shuttle to work. They called said it's most likely a ground wire but time has run out for another $160 to do more diagnostic. I said no because I paid $900 which was two separate labor days plus the first hour of $160 and I can't afford this anymore. read more

I took my vehicle in for warranty work, I was told I had low oil and was charged around $150 to add oil, just to charge me around $60 to change the oil. I was also charged another $180 to do a fuel injection treatment. I was told these had to be done before the warranty work could even begin. Somehow an oil change and a fuel injection treatment cost me $469.00. If I wanted my warranty work done, I had no choice but to do these services first. read more

Purchased a used van 2/22. Two days later brought it back for a loud clunk. They had it for a half a day and found nothing wrong. 3000 miles later I had oil changed at another shop. They brought me back and showed me how the drivers side strut was shot. Also Saud the brakes and tires would not pass inspection. Now this is a vehicle they passed. I assume they passed it knowing I would be back in a year for their free inspection. Then they would get me for tires, struts, brakes. When you take your car here and they charge $89 to diagnose the problem and then try to tack on more than double that as additional diagnostic steps, you know you've gone to the wrong shop. "Diagnose" should cover, you guessed it, the diagnostic process, so the $89 should cover whatever they're doing to assess the issue. Then, when they fix an issue and you have what could be a related issue less than a month later, and they won't check it out and waive the diagnostic fee, you're done forever with this corporate greed shop. read more

I purchased a Chevy suburban here a few weeks ago on a Friday eve. The purchase went smoothly, but Saturday after I brought my car home, the check engine light came on. I called my salesman Mike Shuey and asked if they could go over it and see what was wrong. He said another employee lived nearby and would pick up the car Monday morning on the way to work (since I live a distance away). Monday came and went and no one got the suburban or even called. I called him back. He claimed there was a "miscommunication" and they would be picking it up the following Monday evening. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited patiently. The following Monday also came and went with no car pick up, no calls from the dealership. When I finally called to confront him, of course I couldn't get a hold of him and had to leave him a message just telling him to forget the whole thing. The after purchase service is absolutely TERRIBLE and I will never go back again. My car is going back to my own mechanic who I can actually trust to follow through with what they say. I don't know what their problem is, maybe $25,000 isn't enough of money to get good service!! read more

I stopped in a couple of weeks ago because the rear hatch door on my suburban would not open with my remote. I mean can you imagine having to open the hatch by actually pushing the button on the door?! I have an extended warranty on my vehicle so I wasn't worried about the expense. However, I was advised that I'd likely have to pay the $100 diagnostic fee on my own. After waiting about 30 or so minutes, I was advised that I hit the button on the inside of the vehicle which turned off the remote to allow the door to open. Geez! I was advised that they checked everything out as it related to the door to make sure I'd have no other problems. They also advised I would have to pay half of the diagnostic fee that they quoted, which I wasn't happy about but certainly understood. Anyway, got up to the counter and they did not charge me anything AND they washed the outside of my vehicle! Woohoo! Score! I'm a woman and honestly hate going to have any service done on my vehicle. Extremely dissatisfied with my experience. DO NOT COME HERE! Their motto must be "the customer is always wrong." I was driving back from visiting family in Pittsburgh when my car was making a low hum and stopped off at this dealer before continuing. Turns out the front bearings were failing. This dealer charged me $105 diagnostic fee to tell me the right bearing needed to be replaced. They quoted $675+. Knowing this was extremely high, I took it to another mechanic who fixed for 1/2 the dealer price. Interestingly, after we fixed the bearing the dealer said needed replacement the car still made the hum; turns out the other bearing was the culprit too. Interesting how the dealers advanced diagnostic equipment isn't really successful with a complete/accurate diagnosis. I spoke to a service "manager" who was useless and refused to help in any way, probably because they tried to take advantage of the situation. Dealer mechanics are expensive and should be avoided, but between an unsatisfactory diagnosis and failure to take accountability, and terrible customer care, just don't go here. Terrible! read more

I met with Ed Kent, Sales Mgr., Maley Lysle, my sales person, Ron Forbes in financing and lets not forget the nice lady at the desk who greets you when you arrive. Although, I was still undecided when I walked in the door, there was no rush or pressure. I looked at a few vehicles and test drove one. Gave Maley a few ideas. Took my car in for service and was told I needed parts replaced. After giving me a ridiculous price they called back and said they could only buy used parts for what I needed. After asking for my updated price they simply said it was the same as what they originally quoted me. Used parts for the same price as new??? Still waiting for an explanation on that one...other than sucker!! Please stay clear of this place...it's worth the extra travel and time going somewhere else. Plenty of other dealers to choose from. I already emailed this dealership weeks ago with all the details (who I spoke with and the details of our conversation). Like I stated above I still have yet to hear any explanation but now that I posted this review they want to talk to me. Yeah right...if any of you really cared you would have responded weeks ago when I originally sent an email directly to your dealership. Or better yet in person when I picked my car up. Took our jeep in under warranty for strong antifreeze smell but no leaks. Told it was the intake. Repair either misdiagnosed, done incorrectly or not done at all? We take the jeep back a month later with the exact same issue. Now we are being told it is a cracked radiator, says it is completely unrelated to previous issue and will cost us over $500 in repairs because warranty has expired. So was it the intake, really? Or was it a crack in the radiator and you missed it when it was in the first time? Antifreeze isn't the only thing that smells about this. Been waiting all day for a return call, but nothing. My guess is they will wait till they have their money before hand. If this is how things go down AFTER the sale we will be more than happy to get the husbands new truck elsewhere. read more

Chevrolet had the car that best matched my needs, namely the 2016 Malibu hybrid with the newest safety technology, such as blind spot, lane change and collision warnings. There were a few competitors with cars that fit my needs almost as well but, generally, they came with more options than I wanted. Lawrence Chevrolet offered me close to exactly what I wanted at a very fair price. I was neither pressured nor provided useless or inaccurate information. This was a repeat of my very favorable experience with Lawrence Chevrolet in 2011 when I purchased a Chevy Cruze Eco (which is going to my daughter-in-law). If it were possible to give zero stars, I would in a heartbeat. It took 5 days to do a routine state inspection. I wasn't called for daily updates on the work done, or to be updated on the estimated amount of additional time needed. I wasn't told until day 3 that they were waiting on a recall part for my vehicle, and I eventually had to tell them not to bother repairing the recall at that time because the ludicrous amount of time it was taking to finish the servicing was making it almost impossible to get either myself or my boyfriend to work. The service representative I spoke to (Vaughn) never sounded confident in his estimates of how long something would take, and seemed reluctant to answer my questions. This is the second time in a row that a service appointment took much, much longer than was necessary, with the same representative, the same lack of updates or sense of urgency, and the same severe inconvenience. I will be finding a new place to take my car for servicing, one that won't charge insanely high prices for service that is sub par at its absolute best. read more

I wish I could give no stars. These guys let me drive 1.5 hours to buy a truck that was sold. I had been talking to sales about this truck all week and had a scheduled appointment to close the deal on it only for them sell it to someone else a few minutes before I arrived. I was to meet with the general sales manager who denied me upon arrival and passed me off to the used car manager who told me the truck was sold and offered no apology after I walked out the front door in frustration. I was clear with the staff that I was traveling a long distance and that it was important to have everything in order for a fast transaction upon arrival because I had no intention of traveling that far and going home empty handed. Had they asked for a deposit I would've given one. After an email in the morning informing me that the truck was being cleaned and they'd be ready for me I was confident all would work out. I certainly had no expectation that there would be another buyer. Clearly they care about the dollar more than they do about the customer. Awful experience and a waste of my afternoon. read more

My Husband and I are very disappointed in Lawrence Chevrolet. We bought a 2010 Chevy Malibu LTZ a month and a half ago. The car is beautiful and we really like the performance from this vehicle. The service on the other hand really did not please us. A week after we bought the car we made an appointment for them to check a squeaking sound and replace my sun visor that broke off.(it was $97.00 to fix the visor) The service consultant told us that the squeaking must have been a rock up near the brakes and the sound is not there anymore. I was furious when my husband brought it home and was making the same sound. I called to make a second appointment to fix what they didn't fix the first time. I specifically asked the gentlemen for a rental car. On my appointment day I left work on my lunch break to drive from Camp Hill to the pike. When I asked the lady why I wasn't getting the paperwork for a rental she apologized and said that all of the rentals were being used due to the recall and they were really busy. So I wasted my gas and lunch brake just to drive out there to find that they couldn't accommodate me! I made a third appointment! At this point we realized at high way speeds the steering wheel shook. The day before my appointment I dropped off my car to pick up a rental. We waited until about 3 pm to get a call from a service technician to tell us that we have a bald spot on our front right tire and he couldn't hear this noise. He didn't even give us an option on how to fix the tire. I proceed to tell him that he wasn't listening hard enough. Take the car out back and you can hear the squeaking while going over the bumps. I told him I wanted it fixed. He called back a little while and said they put some lubrication on the axles. Seems to me that they never took it back out to see if that was the issue because the issue wasn't solved. I will never take my vehicle back to Lawrence Chevrolet ever! I will spread the word to all of my friends, family and co-workers to never do business with this company. We spent a lot of money on this vehicle. It is embarrassing to have a squeaking sound coming from a beautiful luxurious car. Now I must try to find another shop to fix a problem Lawernce Chevrolet cannot. Also the day we bought the car our sales person Dick told us he will send us a new key fob. It's been a month and a half now and we finally just received after we had to ask for it! read more

Within the past 6 months I have had 3 bad experiences with their service department and seriously question if they really do employ "certified GM techs" as they say. I have a 2007 Trailblazer SS that was in for service back in October 2012 for a ticking noise. They told me I had 2 broken bolts on my exhaust manifold & replaced them. The problem came into play when I drove it home and noticed it wasn't running right and it was leaking fluid. Took it back to them only to find out that the tech didn't correctly put things back together. Then in December 2012 I was in an accident with the same vehicle. Took it to them for the repair work. Again upon picking up my car & driving it home I noticed it vibrating a lot. Took it back to them & found out that instead of giving me a new fan they put the fan that was damaged in the accident back into my car! The broken fan was the cause of the very noticable vibration & they even told me that I'm lucky to have noticed it when I did before a piece of the fan broke off and caused more damage to my engine! And more recently (March 2013) I had it to them for inspection & they failed because I had a marker light out. Instead of paying way too much for them to replace a bulb I took my car back to replace the bulb myself. I soon found out it was not the bulb but the wires going into the plug for the bulb were pinched and damage & caused the bulb not to work. Since I had just gotten my car back from them in mid January 2013 from the accident & both headlights were replaced I concluded that they did not properly install the headlight which caused the wires to get pinched and torn which lead to my marker light not working. When confronted with this they offered no apologies or even wanted to admit in any wrong doing. Needless to say I'm done with them. Three strikes and your out rule certainly applies! After buying 2 vehicles from them and having service work performed by them over the span of about 10 years now it is sad to see how downhill their performance has gotten. My family and friends have even bought cars and took their vehicles to their service department but not anymore. You can't rely that they will properly put your car back together. read more

My husband and I have been using Lawrence Chevrolet for service on our Tahoe for the past three years. Our latest experience with their service was disappointing to say the least. We took our vehicle there to get an oil change and tire rotation. The same day we picked up our vehicle a warning sensor appeared on our dashboard stating our tire pressure monitoring system was malfunctioning. We called them and were told that the technician forgot to reset it so we should bring it in and they would do so. After we took it to have it reset we got home and the light came back on two days later. We called again and this time were told to make an appointment. We made the appointment and took our vehicle in for the third time. I waited for them to check the car and was greeted by their service employee who informed me that the sensor was damaged and needed replaced, the total cost would be $170! I asked to speak to the service manager who insisted that the sensor was not damaged when the tires were rotated, even though the warning light did not appear until a few hours after the tire rotation was performed, and that the responsibility to fix it was ours! I was shocked! To make things even more interesting a technician who was in the waiting room with me informed me that the sensor had to have been damaged when the tires were being rotated. I left the garage with my warning light on and it's still on. I will NEVER go back to Lawrence and wanted to share this experience so others will know how they treat their loyal customers!! read more

On Friday, 2-14-14,  I called the service department to schedule a oil change for my 2010 Cadillac CTS.  I asked if there were any specials.  The women who answered the phone said there was a $39.99 oil and tire rotation special.  She said that my vehicle would be eligible for this special. Due to the special, I scheduled the appointment for 2-17-14.  I arrived this morning at 7:30am.  I requested the $39.99 oil and rotation special to Ryan, my service adviser. When I returned at 4:20pm, my car was not finished.  I waited an additional 40 minutes until it was ready.  I asked why my car was not complete, to which the lady advised that there was a mixup.  I then went to the  cashier to pay and was told the bill was 84.98.  I asked why the bill is so high?  The cashier said that I had requested the mobil 1 synthetic blend. I informed the cashier that I requested the 39.99 oil and rotation special.  I asked to speak to a manger but cashier said he was busy.  I was running late so I could not stay. After I left, I called and asked for service manager Grant.  I explained my problem but Grant offered no solution.  I simply explained that I would like the $39.99 special honored.  Grant stated that he and his advisors did not know what oil the Cadillac would use until they run the vin and my car used the above referenced oil.  I explain the above scenario and again requested the $39.99 special that was quoted to me. Grant, argued with me in regard to the type of oil and would not honor the special. I am extremely dissatisfied with the service and level of confusion and incompetence that was foreseen today.  There are a vast amount of mechanics and dealers in the area that know and understand their products and care about the customer.
