I bought a new 2021 Hyundai Sonata from Freysinger in 2021. Less than 2 years later and less than 17,000 miles later, despite oil changes at their business every 3-6 months, the car is completely undriveable. They made a mistake during the last oil change and did not tighten the drain plug securely. A human error easily made, sure, but it caused the engine to lose all oil and seize while driving it on the highway. It destroyed the engine, the drive belt, the starter, and damaged other parts. Freysinger has refused responsibility arguing that someone must have slid under my vehicle while I was driving it on the interstate like Keanu Reeves in the movie Speed and unplugged the drain plug because it would be impossible for them to have done it and my car to still function for a short period after. They have destroyed a vehicle that I paid them almost $40,000 for less than 2 years after purchase. They refuse to take any responsibility and continue to gaslight me. Hyundai corporate USA and another Hyundai dealer have both investigated the issue and found Freysinger Hyundai maintenance team as the most likely cause of failure and yet still Freysinger refuses to accept any responsibility. It's now been 4.5 months since this occurred. Meanwhile, I am stuck with a $10,000 repair bill, months of agonizing stress, and continual car insurance payments on a vehicle that cannot even turn on while it sits on another Hyundai dealership's lot waiting for resolution. I cannot recommend enough purchasing from literally any other dealer than Freysinger!! read more

I called in several weeks ago to make an appointment for a couple known issues with my Elantra. One was the fuse recall where cars were instantaneously blowing up and the other, a known issue that the manufacturer extended their warranty for. When I called, the young man to whom I spoke was very nice. I explained the issue with the steering wheel and the fact that the car was past the extended limits of the extended warranty. He assured me everything would be covered and taken care of. When I dropped the car off for service, it was a completely different story. The steering wheel issue was not going to be covered. The young man who set up my appointment was not surprisingly no longer working there. Do NOT accept a promise from them for rainbows and butterflies. Make sure you get everything in writing. My initial impression would have been 5 star until their "real" customer service showed what they were really about. I brought my car there due to a recall & they had it for about a month. I live in MD so When I picked it up it appeared good until the next morning when I had to head back home. I didn't use my AC the even picked it up since it was nice out but that next morning as I headed back to Maryland I had NO AC! I called & left a message. They called me back on Monday & said to take it to my local dealership. All week, no AC and when I finally took it to my dealership they said the dealership in PA would not pay for a diagnostic and I probably have a pin hole. I called the dealership and said my AC worked fine before and now I'm being told I have to wait another week to take it back to Pennsylvania. Come to find out, once I brought it back, THEY did not put freon back in the unit. No apology, nothing!! So disappointing that they didn't own up to their own fault and I had to go without AC in the summer for over a week. Y'all definitely need to do a better job, I won't be coming back. read more

I bought a new kona limited on the 20th of Nov. The car is a beautiful vehicle with unbelievable technology. Unfortunately with just 150 miles on it the engine management system had a problem and I had to take the car back to Freysinger Hyundai. The service department and sales were excellent ushering me in immediately. It appears at present there is a faulty component dealing with the engine management system which they have ordered. In the mean time I have been given a loaner. It is a shame that these things do happen, especially with all the new tech in these cars, but I also know that the dealership is doing everything they can to get this taken care of in a timely manner and have been a pleasure to work with. I HAVE always had excellent experiences with them and expect no different now. From their sales department ( Shawn) To their owner (Gary) and service department they have kept me up to date. Three great experiences at Freysingers Hyundai. 1: Purchased my 2015 Sonata smoothly and for a great deal. They dealt with my needs and any issues that came up during the process. 2. Had to bring my car into the shop because there was a short in the turn signal switch that was causing my bulbs to blow and eventually began to make the electronics short out. Part was on back order so they gave me a free loaner for almost a month until it was fixed. They noticed my oil was sludgy during an oil change. They assumed I wasn't changing my oil regularly which honestly looked as so. However, I showed them proof of oil changes. They changed my oil for free a second time. 3. My motor blew. 50k miles and out of no where it blew. Had my car towed for free using Hyundai roadside assistance to sunbury Hyundai. Contacted them on the next business day and immediately knew I didn't want it dealt with there. I had it towed at my expense to Freysinger's. They gave me a loaner again for free! Thank god because they found my motor blew and required a new one. Motors were on back order for 2-3 months! My car actually got finished within a month and I was on my way, no hassles all paid for by my warranty. read more

On a return trip I stopped at a rest area to add gasoline to my 21 Hyundai Santa Fe but when I pulled up to the pump I found that the push to open fuel door wouldn't open. Made sure the doors were unlocked per the owners manual but no luck. Left for home and for several days tried to find out why the door only worked intermittently and tried to talk to the Hyundai Customer support, no info there just said see dealership. Since I felt it was important feature to put gas in my vehicle I contacted 2 closest dealers and got no help at all. A call to Freysinger resulted in a quick afternoon run from Leola to Mechanicsburg and they took a look at it, found the problem (a dirty electric motor) cleaned it at no charge and I was on my way with a working fuel door and a lot less stress. I cannot thank the service people there for listening to the problem, being willing to see me ASAP and fixing the problem so fast. This is real customer service and I had not been a customer before this but am now and it's worth the drive to get service like this. read more

Our 2012 Hyundai Sonata's engine seized up just after my husband left work -- he works in Camp Hill and we live in MD. We had a tow truck take it to Freysinger since it was the closest dealership up there. Since it was late on a Thursday afternoon, we didn't find out that we would need our engine REPLACED until the next day. We asked for a loaner/rental vehicle and were told that "they were for their customers" (insert blank stare here). We finally received approval for a loaner/rental car the following Tuesday, but not after I had to call Hyundai myself to complain! Trying to work with the Service Rep was an absolute nightmare -- not helpful at all. We were not provided much in the way of communication -- we had to keep calling for updates. It took NINE (9) WEEKS to get our engine replaced! Since we live in MD and my husband is on shift work, we asked that they give us a heads-up when the vehicle would be ready -- didn't happen. They called us and told us to come pick it up. We told him we would be in the next day as we were not driving over an hour in rush hour to pick up our vehicle. Overall, I would not recommend Freysinger's Service Department. Less than two (2) weeks after we received our car back, we receive a Safety Recall Notification for rust! I find it very hard to believe that the dealership didn't know about the recall before the mass mailing went out. Why couldn't they also do the recall work? We will now be taking it to a local MD dealership for this recall, then selling the vehicle. Too much hassle! Bye bye Hyundai! read more

I had to go to Faulkner Hyundai 2060 Paxton St, Harrisburg, PA 17111(717)303-3194 to get my 2007 Accent fixed under warranty, Because Freysinger Hyundai the Local dealer where I bought my car new was unable to we worked with. So thumbs up to Faulkner. Freysinger Hyundai 6251 Carlisle Pike Mechanicsburg, PA 17050 (717)620-0394 Is a terrible Hyundai dealer. The Service writers are rude. (ANGIE) The Mechanics are experts in lying to the customers. I had a check engine light on & the car was running rough. So I called Freysinger Hyundai to schedule a appointment on a Wed. The 1st date they had open was a Full week later. So I had a week to look the engine over. I noticed that there was antifreeze in 2 of the 4 spark plug wells. Maybe about 4oz. enough to cause the ignition coils to not fire the spark plug. So I removed the antifreeze, and dried everything off. The car ran better, but still had a check engine light with a less rough idle. As I drove it (6.3) miles to Freysinger Hyundai the problem got worse. The next day they told it would be $358.00 + for the diagnostic fee $89.00 two coil packs and 4 copper spark plugs. I asked about it being under warranty because it is a malfunction in the engine. They told me that the Hyundai REP. was just there a day before and I would have to wait a full month until the Hyundai REP came back. After arguing with the service writer & mechanic about the antifreeze in the spark plug wells, they told me it was just water. Then I asked where is it at then ? So 1st off the there was more antifreeze in there after I dried it out before I drove to the dealership. Now I have the dealer telling me, yes there was a (liquid), but just water. They said "it was from we washing the underside of my hood." That some water got into the spark plug wells. Just 2 out of 4 some how. I spent the next 2 hours just talking to the service Manager over possible solutions on how to fix my 07 Accent under warranty. I even said" I'll pay for the whole thing no questions asked, but under one condition, please take the car to the wash bay after it is put back together and hose the engine completely down with 80 gals. of water, That I will pay for also to see if (liquid) pools up in the spark plug wells again." Instead I was TOLD to leave the dealership with my non-functioning car. SO I had the car towed to Freysinger and didn't have to pay. That was also covered under Hyundai's warranty. And they fixed everything no problem. read more

Took my '15 Sonata SE in for 30K servicing yesterday. Cost me $125 to have oil/oil filter changed, tires rotated, cabin air and air filter replaced. They wanted to also change brake fluid, change coolant, replace PCV and service throttle body (what ever that is). Total would have been $500+. None of the last 4 were in the maintenance services schedule booklet. I ask what gives but didn't get a good answer--they said something about recommendations vs warranty. I said, what's the difference? I felt I was getting hosed on cost and will probably start looking elsewhere. Have been a regular service customer there for past 9 years. I took my Tiburon in for service and they changed the oil and rotated my tires. It started sounding funny as soon as I drove it off the lot, but I thought I was being paranoid. As the sound got worse, I had a friend take a look. Apparently they did not tighten the lug nuts and overlooked a lug nut that was broken in half on my front wheel. I called Hyundai to tell them this, and they basically blew me off. I was unknowingly driving on an unstable wheel for two months; when I took it to my trusty mechanic, I was told multiple times that I was VERY lucky that I did not get into an accident and that not only would I need the wheel hub and bearing replaced, but that there was also a hole through my wheel. Obviously they gave my car a quick lookover without regard for my safety. They're lucky that Hyundai America provided SOME reimbursement. I won't be back. read more

Very unprofessional! I was looking around for a car for my 16 year old daughter and we found one on the Freysinger website that was prefect. I did a pre-approval and was contacted quickly by Steve Freysinger who said they could finance and I made an appointment to go in. Well, after I got there, the sloppy looking sales person (Josh) said he was unable to locate that particular car. Apparently, a family member decided it was a good idea to take it off the lot and go on vacation with it. (REALLY?). When I expressed that this was not very professional he got VERY defensive and said it happens all the time and that they are professional, after all they have 5 dealerships, he said. He then said he would look at what else they had on the lot that would suit my needs. He found one that suited my needs and went to find it on the lot. He left me sitting there for 20 minutes and then came back and said that car is not there either. I finally, exasperated, asked if he had ANY cars that he could actually show me on his lot. I then asked him to please get my credit app and find out what I was approved for and then give me a list of cars that he actually had on his lot that I could see. He was gone so long I finally got up and left. As I was walking to my car he followed me outside and said "woah, woah, I was getting your credit app". I told him "this is my only day off, I don't have time for this shit", to which he replied "Well, there is no shit and I think it's better that we don't do business together". I absolutely agrees. Who wants to deal with a sloppy, unprofessional, bumbling, disorganized sales person who keeps a multitude of dirty cups and empty water bottles all over his desk". I left there and drove home and on the way I stopped at Platinum Pre-Owned on a whim and walked out with a car for my daughter. I was offered coffee and the experience was lovely. I am in the market for another car in a few months and I sure won't be visiting Freysinger. read more

Even if they did it for a good reason, they should get prior approval before having a technician drive someone's car home overnight. Very sketchy. We bought our CX-5 here. We are very happy with the car and the sales staff were wonderful. The service department is another story. Every time that we call to schedule an oil change we are sent to voicemail. Then after we leave a message, no one returns our calls. Finally when we do get through (because we keep calling back, not because they call us back) the time slot that we were hoping to get is no longer available. The first time that we got our tires rotated the tire light came on, on the dashboard. My wife had to make a special trip back to have them look at it. They said she probably ran over something and had a hole in the tire (9 miles after she just left the place!!) Ended up they didn't reset the tire pressure sensors. The next time it happened we just reset it ourselves (Thank goodness for an informative You Tube video!) We only have one more oil change coupon left, then I'm sure that we will not return to have our car serviced there again. read more

Yelp is dishonest. I have put 3 reviews up for Freysinger and it is insulting that Yelp will take down a good review on a good business. I am someone who leaves reviews when a business deserves them good or bad. I have noticed over the years that Yelp will make a business pay to keep the good reviews up but will harm a business with bad reviews. Someone should sue Yelp for dishonest business practices and black mail to the businesses that they are supposed to serve. Freysinger is a family run business that will bend over backwards for their customers. Let's see if Yelp will do this business a dis-service again by taking down this good review. read more
