Absolutely worst doctor . Lied to me was dishonest left me half blind . Never followed through with the surgery because he billed my health insurance company . Then Dr Hopp went behind my back and said it was a complicated case after he promised me my eye was operable . My doctor was with me she heard the conversation while he called I had documented proof . Do not go to him all he cares about is money and cake celebrity clients and relatives . He lied to e and time he contacted my Opthamologist when I told my Opthamologist he hand showed me his email he never got a thing he also lied. I even sent him many gifts . He is the worst most deceptive doctor I've ever met . For 4 years I got stuck in a rabbit hole with him because he kept billing unauthorized claims to my insurance company . I call it white collar crime . Erin does all his dirty work when i requested my medical record that somehow disappeared I will be reporting him to board of Opthamology and medical Board of California luckily I took screenshots of all my visits proof of being there . He also made me drive all the way to Lancaster he thinks this is a joke . Please id you care about your eyes do not go this doctor unless your out an out of pocket celebrity willing to pay him her the table sadly he just bills the insurance and beats around the bus . 3 stars because the doc himself is great! Great personality. Kind and caring. Great doctor. However, you'll wait an hour or more each and every time you go. I know doctors can get quite busy, but if you can't see someone within 10-20 minutes of their scheduled appointment, you're doing a terrible job of scheduling. The only real problem here is the wait. I don't like to write bad reviews, but in this case it's warranted. . . I was tested for reading glasses only to receive the prescription for distance by email. I called the office and asked simply for the rest of the prescription ,8 times over the course of 1.5 weeks . Each time Erin his long time assistant promised to get it to me and kept assuring me that after Dr. Hopp needed to sign off on it and would get it to me. It never happened during those 8 requests. I don't know if it's her covering for him, or that she couldn't deliver something very simple. I literally felt like I was going out of my mind. I finally got a call from Dr. Hopp apoligizing that he was understaffed and assured me he would get it to me the very next morning, stating something lame like he didn't understand what he had to sign off on. Really? . I called towards the end of the day and asked Dr. Hopp to call me on his special line..he never called me back. Instead, about an hour later the prescription came in after hours from Erin apoligizing. Too late. Also, why didn't Dr. Hopp call me again to at least try to smoothe things out? Well he lost me, my husband and daughter as patients. He was going to have my other daughter as a patient, but that is not happening. read more

After a few visits to urgent care and then my Primary I finally got to see my Ophthalmologist​ (who is also great) and she immediately referred me to Dr. Hopp because my situation was severe. I was scared to death of losing my vision. Dr. Hopp saw me EVERY OTHER DAY until the worst was over. he was on top of it and really relaxed a dire situation that had been going on for weeks. My eyes healed up as good as anyone could expect and my vision is 20/20. But really this rating is about his bedside manner and his commitment to taking care of me. read more

My review is magically missing. Dr Hopp YELLED at me and threatened to stop the lasik surgery AFTER he had cut my eye open! Really freaky! How's this Joe still in business with this attitude? details: After all the disturbing tests and preps, at some point during the procedure, he kept repeating to me "to look up" and I kept looking up at the ceiling while lying down. After he repeated himself a 4th time, I thought maybe he means "look upward" meaning roll your eyes upward. So I did so and he went nuts and began yelling at me, moving his arms in the air, gyrating his head like a top, saying "that's it, I dont have to go thru with this!" He basically threatened to stop the procedure. I froze! I went back to looking at the ceiling and somehow this time, it was ok. I had to wait 2.5 hrs in waiting room before being seen, nasty parking attendant, and Dr Hopp never diagnosed a serious eye problem, or checked prescription on eye glasses, I was happy to switch to another practice and never go back there ever again! Dr. Hopp jumped into an emergency we were having with my 11-year-old son, even though Dr. Hopp doesn't normally see kids. We discovered what looked like a dangerous injury in my son's eye and Dr. Hopp agreed to see us immediately. He wound up picking fiberglass shards out of my son's eye for 2 hours in the evening. The whole office had gone home by the time he finished. He had worked a full day and then added hours to his day with a difficult situation in a speciality (pediatrics) that he doesn't even offer. DO NOT GO HERE. THEY LOST ALL MY RECORDS AND SAID I MADE UP GETTING MY EYES DILATED! HORRIBLE OFFICE. I went for TWO visits last year to have my eyes dilated and then came back to get a prescription written which they gave me on a small white piece of paper. I misplaced the prescription and I called asking for it so I could get my glasses made and they said they LOST My prescription! There was NO record of me having a vision RX done! If THATS not enough, I went to another eye doc, Dr.Richlin (highly recommend him!) and asked Dr.Hopps office to send my eye dilation records over so Dr.Richlin could look at them. They sent back NO records of my eye dilation and said I NEVER GOT IT DONE like I hallucinated it, also I have my mom TAKING ME to his office to get dilated a witness to my apparent hallucination. Also they said I had come in for an eye infection??? NEVER HAD AN EYE INFECTION! I was charged a big copay for the things I had done and I will be BRINGING my receipts from my insurance company to them as PROOF I had the procedures done and get a refund. This office needs to be put out of business for the level of incompetence I've experienced... read more

Dr. Hopp's office has been unable to provide me and my sister our medical records. They took over for a doctor who retired and they say that they cannot find our files. We have requested them repeatedly for months now, only to be told that they will "look" for them. If they say, "We will return your call today" - they don't. I would not recommend anyone going to this office for treatment. If you willingly decide to take over someones practice, you should be sure that you can accommodate those patients requests. My sister is diabetic and has been going to an eye doctor for treatment. He really should have those files. My sister and I have been extremely inconvenienced and wasted a lot of time we do not have. I was so scared to have a laser surgery on my eyes! I was referred to Dr. Hopp by a good friend who is a nurse at Cedar's Sinai Hospital. I trusted my referral source because I knew she knows the best doctors. Still, I was very nervous. I first went in to see Dr. Hopp 6 years ago for a consultation. It took me a long time to return for surgery. I finally had my PRK laser eye surgery a few weeks ago. My only regret is not doing is sooner. I can SEE! I can see better and more clearly than I could ever see before with my lenses. I remember waking up the first night after surgery and seeing the time on the clock on my bedroom wall. I've never seen it before without lenses. It was blurry but I could see! I expected some pain, discomfort and dry eyes after surgery. The truth is that I had absolutely no pain or dry eyes. I did have some mild discomfort and my vision was blurry for the first week as he said it would be. I was very sensitive to bright light and wore dark glasses inside of my brightly lit home. One day, about a week later, I woke up and could see clearer than I have been for years. I am feeling so good, I forget to follow Dr. Hopp's careful post operative instructions. I no longer have any light sensitivity; I never experienced any dry eyes (Dr. Hopp did insert something into my tear glands to prevent dry eyes); I have no pain or discomfort. I am truly grateful for everything that Dr. Hopp and his team had done for me. Dr. Hopp was very good at explaining everything that I should expect during and after the procedure. His assistant Hector was very patient and very attentive. The nurse that assisted Dr. Hopp was very accommodating and helpful. I wish I could remember her name....they gave me a Valium and a teddy bear to help get through the surgery so my recollection of the actual surgery is not very strong. There were some interesting visual effects for a few seconds and then it was all over with. I have to admit that I was very impressed with the high tech equipment they used to examine my eyes and prepare for surgery. More importantly, I felt comfortable with Dr. Hopp because he was not pushy with me. He was patient; he gave me my options; and he executed the surgery perfectly. Thank you! read more

My husband needed to get cataract surgery and Dr. Hoop and Erin has strung us a long since Nov. 2015. Dr. Hopp said my husband needed to get his corneas replaced and said call Erin to schedule so we had a date in Jan. And they canceled last minute. Then set him up just for cataract surgery from Feb 8 and canceled that due to not getting the measurents from his previous surgeon! Who does that! Don't you think should have had these way before you scheduled any surgery date! Also my husband needed paper work for work and his insurance trying to get them forwarded and filled out was like pulling teeth!!! It took weeks just get get a simple from from Erin. Erin never calls back or does anything she says she's going to. If she says she was going to send you an email in 10 minutes it took 6 hours or we would never get them. My husband hasn't been paid since Jan.2016 because they don't have their crap together! We won't be returing to this office! read more

Dr Hopp has been wonderful! I was having a problem with one of my eyes. I was able to get a same day appointment. After getting misdiagnosed elsewhere, Dr Hopp was able to correctly diagnose me and give me the proper medicine. I was better in a few days! He has great bedside manner and really takes his time to explain what is going on within your eyes (he took the time to show me on both a 3-D model as well as an animated version on his IPad). The numbers didn't look just right but I'm too young and healthy to have glaucoma... but just in case, Dr. Hopp is sending me to a specialist. Sure enough, the tests are conclusive and a simple laser procedure makes sure that a growing problem that would have turned into glaucoma ten years from now will likely never happen. Dr. Hopp performed a cataract surgery for my mother recently. My mother has ARMD and she is legally blind in one eye. She was very fearful of doing a surgery on her one good eye. Dr. Hopp and his staff answered many of our questions patiently. He took time to explain everything to us, all the risks, the odds, what she can expect after the surgery, pre-op procedures, etc. The surgery went very well and my mother can see out of that good eye very well. She has a better vision than as long as she can remember. After the surgery, Dr. Hopp and his staff have always been available to answer our questions. His staff is wonderful, whenever I call his office they are very pleasant and helpful. I can't say enough of how happy my mother is and how grateful we are of the good service and professionalism of Dr. Hopp and his staff. read more

Was amazed at the help I recvd from my last vista to Dr Hopps which was for my 12 year old son...Lately the service in Beverly Hills has been sub par to say the least but after my last visit I was reminded of the great old days when your experience was as important as the service..First off Erin was great..helpfull the whole time..My son was in pain but she was there every step of the way while we waited to see the doctor...she went above and beyond the call of duty...even going so far as to walk around the front dest to tell my son the pain would go away soon and sitting next to us to console...The patient comes first ! And she honored that to the 9th degree...a week later my son feeling much better and eye completely healed asked me "who was that nice lady who helped us when we went to Dr Hopps?"
