Why didn't I listen to the review that said to run from this doctor's office? The only redeeming factor was a beautiful office, which lost its luster quickly. When I got in to see the doctor, during his quick review of my file, he missed an important detail of my MRI, reopening the file to reread it after I asked him about it. My overall impression was a doctor with a rushed, careless demeanor who seemed to go through motions without really caring about results. If it was possible to give a rating of zero I would. I would not even send my worst enemy to his office for treatment. Dr. Miller is unprofessional, rude, and does not have a patient's best interest in mind. He does not listen to his patient's concerns and will recommend possible treatment without having medical records. I had to provide my MRI report and images to him. He was impatient and did not wait for the images to load. While being prepped for an outpatient procedure, Dr. Miller made a disparaging and racist remark to staff at the surgery center. Most doctors meet with a patient in the recovery room to discuss how the procedure went and advise of what to expect, not him. I was not sedated so he could have easily met with me after being wheeled out of the operating room. At my two week follow-up appointment, I waited for 2 hours to be seen after my scheduled appointment. He was very defensive when I informed him that the procedure did not help. During my appointment, he took a personal phone call. I found out at that appointment, he still did not have my recent MRI images or report. When questioned how appropriate treatment could be determined without medical records, he quickly walked out of the exam room while saying he would request them. His "bedside manner" is atrocious and you are not seen as a person but rather a number. read more

I was referred to Doctor Miller's office in order to get an ultrasound for my brachial plexus region. A neurosurgeon believed that I had thoracic outlet syndrome. For the record, I went to the office in Santa Ana (2001 E First St #110 Santa Ana, CA 92705) My actual Ultrasound was done by I believe was a contractor named Michael S Jablon. He was very nice and helpful. As he was using the ultrasound on my neck, chest, wrist and elbow, he was willing to explain the process and help assure me what was going on and it was even to point out issues as he was going. After the ultrasound, I reviewed the results with Doctor Miller himself. Based on a referral from My neurosurgeon, Doctor Miller gave me an anesthesia injection on my brachial plexus area. He was willing to answer questions about how the process worked and how I would be numb for the rest of the night, but also showed that I was able to temporarily not have pain. The only problem I have with this place is that apparently they pre screen you by giving you a call from random number. Unfortunately, I'm very skeptical of getting numbers that I do not recognize, so I didn't know this until I went into the office. Thankfully when I went to the office they're willing to call me again for the pre screening after filling in the patient form work. Overall, my experience going here was pretty good and if you plan on getting ultrasound, whether through a referral or not, this is a pretty good place to do it. read more

I have been to see an amazing amount of doctors for my chronic knee problem. I have found that most physicians will lean into their specialty. The knee surgeon wanted to operate, they operated, and it got worse. Other specialists did their own thing, but to no avail. The first people to identify the problem that I really have were Dr. Miller, Dr. Michael, and their compassionate staff. I cannot stress how grateful I am to the physicians who stood over me, sagely with an ultrasound and pointed at it and said this is it. They referred me to a rheumatologist, gave me temporary pain, relief, and between them and the rheumatologist I am today walking without a problem and it has been so for the last month. I will give you an unqualified five star review. Theirs has been a three month effort, leading to identification, isolation of the culprit and relief. Thank you so much! read more

Do not go to the doctor even if you are referred. His office and himself will waste your time. Not properly go over your report. And then Dr. Miller will yell at you when you let him know you wasted your entire day waiting for him. I'm pretty sure I got to sit through him enjoying his lunch. And a surprise guest from a former employee. The walls aren't very thick there so you can hear their conversations and what they're doing while making you wait. He also doesn't take the time to review his patients files before he sees them and is an overall horrible human being. He does not care about the pain you are experiencing he just wants your money. He will leave you in pain and in tears like he did to me today. This Dr Lawrence Miller is very compassionate and thorough. He is like a detective when it comes to treating his patients. I had over 2000 pages of medical reports and he wouldn't see me until he read it all. He listens more than he talks which is what I look for in a qualified doctor. He is also not full of "Pomp and Circumstance," nor does he have a "God complex," as evidenced by his modest appearance and demeanor. I have seen over 40 doctors and more than 10 different neurologists over the last 4 years since my accident so I am a bit of an expert in this regard. Dr Miller was the only doctor to diagnose my movement disorder so I can now seek treatment for it. I would highly recommend this physician. He differently got A's in medical school, unlike some of the C and B doctors I have been seeing over the years. read more

Everything listed below on the low Star ratings is what I've had to deal with with and more. The lady up front is one of the rudest people I have ever met. She talks crap about patients in front of everyone in the waiting room. She will tell or act annoyed when trying to ask any question. She is very friendly with anyone who speaks Spanish but no one else. Also apparently one one person can get information for you and I couldn't get it no matter how many times I had called or requested and I needed the paperwork. In fact I did not have it for what I needed it for and no one else would get it for me. The chairs i the waiting room are the most uncomfortable chairs I've ever sat in my life, which is the problem considering that most patients are here from an accident. On top of that they will have no problem making you wait an hour and a half to 2+ hours over your appointment time. Every time I've addresses or said is there a time you just let me know when to come like are you running two hours behind that they're saying you have to be on time but we don't control you know the time that you actually get seen, they refuse to address the issue they talk about how they're trying to be good to their patients by spending the time needed but every single time I've had an appointment with Dr. Miller he has brushed me off and super rude. Refuses to spend time with me so it's just a total lie because they're running behind. In fact, Dr. Miller took a phone call in the middle of my appointment while I was undressed and totally disregarded any of my questions. I feel so vulnerable and I felt so uncomfortable and then he proceeded to take his fingers and jab me very hard into my throat. I couldn't swallow for days after. On top of that I have horrid back problems and he proceeds to continually take my leg and yank it up and I repeatedly said that I can't go that far it hurts. It will hurt continually and I'm out for the rest of the week. He does not listen to a single thing I say . And of course he's rushed. He does not want to spend the time. He is not careful with what he does, he does not know what he's talking about or what he is doing. He's constantly telling me that my other doctors were in the wrong while I have gotten clear answers from other doctors, but not him. I am trying to change doctors because I can't stand him, but that's the Lawyer's pic so until then I'm stuck going to Him but just avoid this place at all costs. They are so unbelievably unprofessional and I can't believe the stuff that I've heard or seen or dealt with. This office is the worst. The receptionist, if that is what she is, is rude and uncaring. The seating is uncomfortable. This is a doctor's office for pain, right? I took a family member for an appointment and he waited 45 minutes to be called into a room, only to wait another 15 minutes to see the doctor. The doctor had none of his records and did not do a thing for him. He told him to come back in a month. For what? Nothing. When scheduling the appointment, I asked if the wait time is normally an hour, and the rude front desk person said it was. So, I told my friend, we will just arrive an hour late then. The obnoxious woman responded that she would have us wait another hour. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. You get ZERO care and a rude experience. read more

The front office personnel are terrible and appear to be more focused on chatting with one another then tending to patients waiting in the waiting area. I literally sat there and waited for 1 1/2 hours before walking out and leaving. Mind you they do not validate parking and suggest you walk to the gas station to get change to put in the parking meter. After waiting for nearly an hour a "receptionist", I use the term lightly, asked me to verify my number (which was wrong in their file). I then receive a phone call about a 1/2 hour later from someone working remotely from home to do a phone pre-health screening before being seeing by the doctor. This is unacceptable, my time is just as valuable as theirs. I will not be going back and will be seeking a different referral! read more

RUN Not Walk from this incompetent doctor, and I only refer to him as such because he has the initials after his name. I'm sure in the beginning he earned this and cared about healing people but since then he has become lazy, uncaring, robotically, impatient and greedy with a terrible bedside manner where his main focus seems to "get ''em in and get ''em out'" rushing people in and out due to his employment contacts w companies. He's an angry guy who need to retire. I was in such pain the day of my surgery and feeling vulnerable and scared, and all he could care about was that I told the front desk I was so disappointed he never called me back as the nerve shot he gave me made it worse and I was out of my mind in pain on Friday. But here I was at 5 am his first patient ans instead of asking me how I felt the first thing he commented on in the most bitchy rude way was screaming at me "I did call you back and I couldn't get though! Ans you know what, you shouldn't even get this shot you should just go straight to surgery!!!" Can you imagine his insensitivity! It's was like he was at stamping his feet like child! I was shocked. Ams the nurses were so uncomfortable! How incredibly unprofessional. I have since learned of someone better who I will begin my healing with but Lawrence Miller feels he is untouchable and needs his license removed! read more

The most incompetant staff as well as their so called manager(s) Esmy and Yassenia. Not only did they write a report for insurance with inaccurate information that was never taken from me, but they wrote an appeal that was written without my knowledge as to what was being requested. Like a six month rehab program that I probably never be able to come close to complete. When you look at his first set of documents to be signed, it looks like they were written by someone that has very little or no professional education, thus reflecting on this doctor. I suppose I should be glad that I was never authorized for treatment with this office. Those that are in pain, beware and you may want to take the time and look further for a competent office. Be also forewarned, their phone service by those that answer is something left to be desired. You're either on an eternal hold or it then goes to an answering machine. I like this guy. Dr Miller is genuine, knowledgeable, and honest. The wait time wasn't drastic like the office which referred me but I want seen exactly when I got there. I didn't have to open a movie on my phone to watch or anything so I didn't mind. The staff were all good to me as I visited the office as well as the surgery center. I'm younger (early 30's) and I'd recommend others see Dr. Miller if he's an option. I ended up going to the surgery center after my consultation and was pleasantly surprised. The wait on the surgery center was less than I had informed the wait would be and the couches were very comfortable in the waiting room space. Doc Miller the killer walked into the surgery room with his Large cup of coffee , then proceeded to inject me with the epidural , i almost jumped out of the bed .He had no clue I hadn't been put under . Was this guy hung over or just incompetent ? After the procedure I experienced excruciating pain and a burning sensation in my back and legs . Never in my life had I felt that bad . I have seen Dr Miller for 16 years for a workplace injury. He is the only doctor I have no connection with, who know nothing about a patient he has seen for that time period. He makes abrupt random changes to your pain medication with no explanations or alternatives or taking into account other treatment you are going through. I would suggest you go to any other pain management doctor if possible, if not see the lady doctor who sees patients instead, she is far more empathetic and actually listens. Dr Miller is playing CYA instead of treating patients and will discontinue your medication without notification or reviewing current treatment. Dr Miller is the most compassionate and thorough Doctor I have seen. I am suffering from a failed spinal fusion and Doctor Miller did an outstanding job focusing on reducing my pain while not over medicating me. When you are dealing with serious long term pain issues you have to be careful with not developing an immunity too quickly. Dr Miller has that perfect touch of being able to reduce pain without going overboard and burning through your pain options too quickly. He also really cares. He spent time to get to know me and was the first doctor I had seen in years that had a thorough understand of my prior medical conditions before coming in the door. He also remembers me and my issues every time I see him. He is a great doctor who is very empathetic. As chronic pain patient when I see the negative reviews posted here it seems to be people not seeking pain relief but pain medication. As a pain doctor, Miller has to say "no" to people for their own good, and people neither like or understand why. When I was in the lobby I saw at least one person who had no external indicators of pain. Yet when he went back to see the doctor he developed a limp and moan as he walked and moaned with ever step. A patient like that doesn't get through Dr Miller. In closing, Miller is a top notch doctor for those really suffering. He will seek out tests to find out the source of your pain and work to fix it, rather than just cover it. Yes the wait can be long, but go to any top doctor such as Watkins at Marina Spine Center where the wait is often four hours, Millers 30 minute wait is nothing.
