I have been a real estate broker for nearly 10 years. My client was about to close escrow with another escrow company until a cyberattack took place. I was referred to Lawyers Title by the other escrow company to close out the transaction. Sarah Latter and Erwin Martinez moved very quickly and thoroughly to help us close escrow in 2 business days! They are professional, quick to respond, and diligent. Their fees are also very reasonable. Excellent service and hope to do business with them again soon. read more

This is the worst title company I have ever had to deal with. We had two escrow officers either quit or get fired mid transaction. When our first officer left the company, no one followed up or notified us or our lender and it took raising it to higher management to get anything done. Then our second officer took over but then went MIA right before the transaction was supposed to close after being delayed by the first officer leaving leading to a second delay. These were at the San Diego office. Ultimately, we ended up with Shana at the La Jolla office for closing. She was the only redeeming part of the experience. She was friendly and helpful. I would not use or recommend Lawyer's Title. read more

Be careful! When you're refinancing or buying a home, remember you have a choice. I've done both over the last few years, and next time I will not go with Lawyer's Title. It looks like they're understaffed, overworked, or poorly managed. Once you reach someone, they're professional and pleasant. However, just try to find out where things are, and you're in for a waiting game. In my recent case, they overpaid my property taxes which I had already paid before opening escrow. I confirmed with the county that Lawyer's Title had gotten the refund. Just try finding someone who will acknowledge that and refund our money. (We're still waiting...) It would be better to simply respond with "We don't have an update for you" or "We got your message and will reply in 2 months" or something - anything! Or, maybe Lawyer's Title needs to have enough people to manage whatever level of business they've taken on. read more

I have worked with a local credit union in San Diego for over 25 years. Jessica Littlejohn is currently our escrow officer at Lawyers Title due to Anna recently quitting due to overwork and stress. We PAY them. They are OUR client. They work for US. Jessica provided the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. I am literally blown away she was not immediately fired be her supervisor. We reported her actions IMMEDIATELY after our horrific experience with her where she verbally berated and talked down to us ..... demeaned us. Talked to us like we are stupid. She was the worst escrow officer I have ever encountered. In over 25 years. She is the worst. Ever. Period. She was rude. Condescending. Argumentative. She swore at me! Lawyer's Title Company is my sole title and escrow company I retain after I've renovated a property and the client is ready to list their property. I call them first. SDenia Ponce and Sarah Latter have been my personal team - since day 1 - from Lawyer's Title I utilize and will continue to engage on every future transaction I participate in. I have NEVER had a call or question unanswered. In the event I needed info quickly on a particular property - they've gotten me what I needed within 2 hours or less of my initial request. I've seen title companies take up to 2 days for this! Hence why I'm never leaving Lawyers. If you need a title and escrow company, they're great and if require more attention than the average client - I would HIGHLY recommend the team I've mentioned (SDenia and Sarah) due to their professional history/knowledge in the San Diego real estate industry coupled with their personal professionalism and work ethic. read more

Everyone I have met has their strengths and brings a different insight to the table. Jeremy works 24/7 NON STOP and his staff does as well. They rock. Title companies are never going to have it easy on Yelp. Because while it's a service that most people need, few people actually want it. Yes, it sucks that homeowners and homebuyers have to pay to protect against claims (even if the bank is the beneficiary), but that's how insurance works. It's a necessary evil. That said, Working with Lawyers title is a great experience. Dee Dee Burland and the entire Title Unit are extremely professional and helpful . When I have questions regarding preliminary title reports or client title issues I get a prompt & thorough response upon contacting my title officer. Lawyers Title received a refund check on August 27, 2019, from the government (following a home purchase) and we didn't see it until January 6, 2020. When I called, they claimed they have a large backlog they are working through...for four+ months!? Accounting was very nice and professional...this is clearly a management/leadership issue. Not sure if there are any legal requirements on timing for refunds...regardless, this is just bad business. read more
