I was blown away by the attention to detail that is on display here! Layla and Ringo's is definitely the place to be on Wells. The ambiance, the music, the views, the lovely barista's, resulting in such a refreshing delightful experience. Thank you, Charlie & Noah my experience and Matcha Lavender Latte was a 10/10 The story of Layla and Ringo's is such a beautiful story. Long story short Layla and Ringo are the owners dogs! So you know the pup cups are elite! You can even bring a picture of your doggy inside to hang on the wall! I know that's sooooo cute! Besides having such an incredible view there's street parking right outside the cafe which isn't terrible so after you pay for 7 dollar latte add 5 bucks for 1 hour parking but it's totally worth the experience in my opinion. This cafe experience is definitely elite and I'm grateful so much effort and heart has gone into it making it the perfect after work spot because Layla and Ringo's is one of the very few cafes that stays open later than majority in the city. I appreciate the 7A-7P hours. Me and a friend came here for a late lunch. I got the Breakfast Burrito & a Strawberries and Cream Latte, and she got the Breakfast Sammy & Pistachio Honey Latte. Both food items were underwhelming in size for the price ($10). Flavor of the burrito was good, and the sauce that came with it had a nice kick. The sandwich on the other hand did not stand out to us, and did not seem cafe quality (easy to replicate at home). Overall, vibes in cafe were cozy and welcoming. They also have little one person sound-proof cubicles where people can take meetings, which is something not a lot of cafes offer and adds a unique touch to the establishment. The interior is so cute. It's a great spot to meet friends, or if you need to study or do work. There's even private little working booths that you can sit in! There's also a little store with other things and knick-knacks you can shop for. The drinks were magnificent. Cute cafe that is super popular! Have to get there early for a table/seat on the weekends. The matcha was great and almond croissant was delish--super flaky (and messy, beware). We had an issue where someone (mistakenly?) grabbed our food/drinks so it took them awhile to remake because it was busy but they were really nice and gave us a couple freebies. This place was packed at 11am on a nice Friday, for good reason. It's super cute inside, and the food and drinks are amazing. My bacon, egg, and cheese bagel was $10, but it was incredible. The plain bagel (which is apparently made fresh every day there) was slightly toasted, the bacon was perfectly crispy, and the egg was perfectly scrambled. Though very busy, we got our items in about 5 minutes or less, though had to take them away since there was nowhere to sit inside. I've been on the hunt for a great cafe to work from, and Layla and Ringo is definitely one I'll be revisiting. The music and ambiance are just right--not too loud, not too quiet--creating the perfect balance for productivity. The coffee was not bad I still need to try their match and the wrap was amazing and would definitely also be better as a salad as well. Overall will definitely go again, just be there early to get a good spot. read more

If you are a coffee connoisseur, this is NOT the place for you! Unfortunately, I'm one of those coffee snobs that takes my coffee seriously. The coffee here is VERY weak with a slight bitterness to it, and no flavor to it whatsoever. My friends and I have been here a couple times because it's so stinking cute and the vibe is fabulous, but none of us enjoy the coffee:( The service is great, but PLEASE change out your coffee beans to something better!! read more

To escape the morning rain, I tried L&R on my wife's recommendation as a place popular with her nearby office. I don't know that I will return. Walking in, the overall ambiance was nice with good lighting, and I was quickly greatly by a very pleasant team member. Many patrons were working on laptops, and there is a variety of seating to accommodate different styles of work or just hangin' out. My initial sense of the vibe was positive. My veggie breakfast burrito was solid and accompanied by a tasty salsa. Now the minuses... First, the burrito was packaged excessively and unnecessarily, especially for such a small burrito and given that I was dining in, in a large compostable bowl with plastic lid. Unfortunately, there was no option for responsibly discarding the bowl or recycling the lid of No 1 plastic, so I was forced to put the lid into my bag for recycling at work. Next, the music was just loud enough that it could not be ignored, yet it was bland enough to not be worth hearing. Finally and most importantly, the coffee was terrible. I ordered dark roast daily brew drip, but it was the flavor of the paper cup that shone through most. I'm not a coffee snob, indeed on a recent road trip I bought black coffee from a rest stop vending machine, but I ended up dumping today's coffee. It had almost no flavor and left me looking forward to coffee at my office. Maybe their fancier options are more satisfying, but I could never recommend L&R on that coffee alone. In summary, I'm unlikely to return unless my tastes in music and coffee change significantly, as both were too bland for me at L&R. read more
