Amazing crepes in the city! All crepes are rice crepes so they are gluten free. The shop has a wide variety in menu items whether you're looking for something sweet or savory. We got the goat cheese pear & honey and the lox. It was a little messy so be cautious with kids but the shop gives you a paper holder to tear as you make it further in your crepe. They are all made to order too so prepare to wait an extra few minutes but worth the wait! The shop is being and cozy with free wifi if you wanted to pop open a laptop and get some work done.

Really good crepes. They have some unique flavors that they do really well such as the crème brûlée that I really enjoyed. Their drinks are also really solid. Would definitely come back again and am jealous of anyone who can frequent this establishment.

This is the second time that I have been to Crepe & Bean as I live in the West Loop. Sleek, contemporary coffee shop that is located int he Presidential Towers. I don't eat crepes very often, but these crepes are excellent! They are super soft, fluffy, and they have some great combinations. The California Breakfast had two eggs so it was extremely filling and it had extremely fresh avocado. The Banana Nutella crepe was loaded with Nutella and bananas so it was very sweet and had a ton of flavor. The crepes are messy and I think they need some better napkins as they have bar napkins (small that hold a drink). Coffee is pretty good overall. Prices are pretty average for Chicago and the staff is friendly. Overall, if you are a fan of crepes and coffee, you should definitely check out Crepe & Bean!

Love the concept and the crepes were delicious! The cappuccino and latte were not bad but not amazing. The inviting space is connected to an apartment building, with a range of different size tables. I can see it being a good place for remote working or catching up with friends. Single occupancy bathrooms

We visited around noon on a weekday, and while it wasn't busy, it also wasn't empty. The atmosphere was comfortable, with some people working and others enjoying their meals. We both had delicious crepes, and they were surprisingly easy to eat. My friend noticed (too late for me) that the holder has a tearable section, making it even easier to eat without making a mess. I'll definitely be back!

I live in the building so I am lucky enough to get to eat here pretty consistently. The food is ALWAYS delicious and the coffee is great. Specifically the caramel popcorn latte (sub oat milk) is the most innovative coffee recipe I've ever tried and it did anything but disappoint. The staff is superior as well. Always welcoming and willing to give recommendations. Lera recommended today's meal to me with enthusiasm and not only was she a pleasure to speak with but she was right on spot! Would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Yummy California Breakfast from Crepe and Bean!

We were in a hurry and in search of coffee and something light for breakfast. We are so happy we found Crepe and Bean. We love breakfast and what is better than breakfast that you hold in your hand? Yay!!! Breakfast in a crepe! We ordered the California Breakfast which came with scrambled eggs, cheddar and mozzarella cheese, spinach, and avocado all served in a freshly cooked crepe. This hand held breakfast delight was so tasty. All of the ingredients worked together for a fantastic breakfast flavor. We also had two of their lattes which were very refreshing. We really enjoyed our first stop at Crepe and Bean and will keep it in mind when we are in the neighborhood in the future and need a yummy breakfast.

I was looking for a coffee shop in the loop and ran across Crepe & Bean. As the name implies, they have crepes and coffee, but they also have smoothies and smoothie bowls. Plus, the crepes include sweet and savory options. What's more, the savory crepes use halal meat. What more could one want? I had to check this place out. The interior is nice and spacious, and the ambience is relaxed. I like the decor, especially one of the paintings that I unfortunately didn't snap a photo of. Service was friendly. I decided on a spicy beef crepe and a cappuccino, although I would have liked to try a smoothie as well. The crepe was presented like a bouquet of flowers. Very cool. It was kind of hard to eat, though. The crepe itself was excellent, and it wasn't overly sweet or anything so it worked perfectly fine with savory fillings. As for the fillings, there wasn't much ground beef in there, but the little bit in there was quite tasty thanks to the sauce it was slathered in. Even though it was called spicy beef, it wasn't spicy at all. The matchstick carrots and red onions were nice, but unfortunately the bulk of the filling was lettuce. I mean, it's a good way to get your greens, but I also like my protein. The cappuccino was excellent. It had a nice, thick layer of foamed milk on top. Most places simply cannot get that right. It could be that some baristas simply aren't trained properly on using the wand, or other shops don't have very good machines. Crepe & Bean got it right, so the foam was very satisfying. All in all, a very nice lunch, coffee, or snack spot if you're in the loop.

Found this spot because it was close to Union Station. My friends got the savory crepes and those looked really good, but I got an acai bowl because it was hot out. I like mine with as much fruit as possible, but there wasn't much choice on the menu. This is the first one I've had with cashews on top, which I wasn't a big fan of. Otherwise it was fine. This place is pretty nice inside with plenty of seating. If I lived nearby I'd definitely visit often to study or something.

Okay, so I've been making & eating crepes all my life. I also practically NEVER leave reviews for anyone. This place, however, just completely (and unexpectedly) shocked me with the best filled crepe I've ever had in my life. My partner and I were rushing to Union Station to catch a train, and needed a quick place to grab a bite -- only requirement being some vegetarian options. My partner got the California Breakfast crepe, I got the Lox crepe. Both were under $14. I doubted one portion would be enough for me after a missed meal, but decided I'd have this crepe and then order another later if I'm not full. The person at the counter was sweet and attentive, ready to give recommendations, and fairly sure we will *not* need extra portions. Hm, I thought, that's mighty confident. Turns out: they were right, I'll probably be full til next morning. Let's get to the meal: Presentation - *chef's kiss*. The crepe was in a funky plastic bag with handles, put in a cup for stability I presume. Honestly, I don't think it needed the bag, and I'd prefer to have a meal without plastic all over it. But since it's quick affordable food on a quick journey, I can't really complain. Flavors: the salmon was perfect, not too salty. The sour cream/whatever spread was FANTASTIC. Little bits of dill completed the flavor. The crepe itself was great: chewy enough, but soft enough, and most importantly -- it had actual flavor to it (a rare occurrence in the U.S.). Now, I'm really weird about avocados. A touch of those lil black dots, or some minor stringiness, and I won't eat it. This avocado was perfect. Speed: I've gotta say, it took about 15-20 minutes to make both crepes for us (they were still working on another order when we ordered). But holy crepe it was totally worth it. Space: the restaurant itself is nicely and simply decorated. There is a HUGE green velvet couch (we were too slow to snag it), and at least a pair of big velvet chairs with foot stools (I'm not kidding!!) where we eventually ended up sitting. The music playing was somewhere in the vicinity of Europop, which made me miss home. Conclusion: I wish I could come here every single week, because there are about 18 more menu items that I'd like to try immediately -- but alas, I simply do not have that much space in my stomach. Thank you, Crepe & Bean! P.S. Oh, my partner's California Breakfast was also delicious. He kept wondering if there's some secret bacon hidden in it (there wasn't), and after I tried a bite of the crepe-- I understood what he meant by saying "the egg is sort of... magically fluffy, and the spicy mayo! Oh my god!"

Clarice C.

Food was delicious, service speed could be improved, ambiance relaxing. I ordered a crepe with turkey bacon, eggs, spinach, cheese. It was perfectly seasoned. I also ordered a brown sugar cinnamon drink, too much cinnamon for me, returned the drink. Then ordered a lavender lemonade, tasted good but tasted like carbonation in the drink, and I cannot have carbonation. So if you can I would recommend the drink.

So...not sure the food is good. I just happen to think the attitude is a little worse. Came with a group and someone in our party ordered the French Onion Soup and then a Croque Monsieur. No one else in our group ordered a starter. What's weird is for some reason they decided to course the soup with everyone's mains. Normal restaurants, including like....your local suburban Chile's, know not to do that but this place thought that was normal. So already, my friend is a course behind everyone because they didn't serve his starter first. What's worse is when he finishes his soup...he doesn't get his main. We actually FINISH our mains and he still hasn't gotten his. He makes a comment VERY NICELY to our waitress like hey! Just wanted to check on my meal! She responds, "all our meals are timed perfectly." What!! My buddy goes, "Okay...I've just been waiting for 15/20 minutes so I think I'm ready for my sandwich." She responds, "okay....let me alert the kitchen." Wait? You didn't even tell them he needed his meal?? We wait another 15 minutes. We flag the waitress again and ask where his meal is and she responds "everything is made to order so the kitchen needs some time." Okay. This is a Croque Monsieur. Are you....rising bread right now? What is happening? So I get frustrated and jump into this and say, "Ya but we've been waiting over 30 minutes for his main. We've all finished so now you're asking my friend to eat alone." She responds, "everything is served hot so what is the problem??" !! I get annoyed because up until this moment, we've been pretty nice. But this waitress not acknowledging any issue or trying to make it better and talking back to us like this is weird. So I just say, "Bring a manager over." Well...it didn't matter. This lady learned her attitude from somewhere and it was probably from the manager. The manager immediately is on the offense like, "you ordered a soup and we wanted you to have the soup hot. And we want your next meal to be hot. We make everything fresh and we clean our dishes in between." The heck? All we want is for my friend to be able to eat his main. So I say, now rudely, "just bring the food. We have waited 30 minutes now. Everyone is done with their meal. If you haven't made it, cancel the order and we'll go somewhere else." She responds, "we usually serve the starter first. If you didn't like that, then don't order a starter." SERIOUSLY!? What is happening!? I think about telling her that USUALLY even if only 1 person has ordered a starter, that gets served first before EVERYONE gets their mains TOGETHER. Instead I say, "listen, cancel the order or give us the food but we aren't waiting any longer." And she goes, "we can't cancel it. The kitchen has been working on it." So I say "this better be home baked bread because they've been working on it for 45 minutes by now." IT STILL takes another 5 minutes to get this meal. It is cold. It is an average Croque Monsieur. And they probably all spit in it. At the very end, the waitress comes over and says, "I see what you mean and there were coursing issues but we take pride in our food and we weren't going to degrade that so we could serve you faster." This place literally lives up to a Parisian stereotype, I guess.

There is a small market doenstairs with easy to grab pre prepared meals and wines as well as other snacks and beverages as well as trinkets and souvenirs. Since everything in the store is pretty expensive, I don't really purchase much. I have other family members gift a meal or two for me which was eggplant parmesean and I have to say that it was pretty tasty. The portion size i think is generous as well though it did make me really sleepy and nearly almost put me in a coma Nonetheless, it was pretty delicious. They have a wide variety of other goods to choose from as well downstairs. When you take the escalator or elevator to the upper floors, there are dry goods such as breads, tomato sauces, cheeses, bread, and much much more. The wine wall was pretty spectacular as well amd they divided the wines by region. The other part of the store has a stand alone restaurant towards the back which was packed. They also had these stations woth an open concept kitchen so you can see the chefs cooking as well as the bartenders preparing drinks. That was fun to witness as I walked by. It was very hustle bustle and they had one lounge style sit down eatery with waiters and another casual restaurant in the back with waiters. I highly recommend it if you have not gone.
