Located in the River North community, this vibing coffeeshops is reflective off it's community: young, dog loving city dwellers. The aesthetic is cozy neighborhood coffeeshops, with a "Friends" vibe. Upon entry, there's cozy couch /lounge chair seating leading up to the cashier who takes your order. They do offer limited breakfast/lunch options. Partitioned off to the side is a small market similar to those seen at Cracker Barrel but stocked with trendy food and craft options. After a brief chat with my cashier, who was awesome with explaining my drink options, I ordered the Lucky Latte which is a vanilla based iced latte topped with Lucky Charms cereal cold foam. Now, their s'mores latte is highly mentioned, however, I prefer my s'mores fresh off a bonfire. I give their Lucky Latte 7/10. Not as flavorful as I hoped yet enjoyable . Would I return? Absolutely! Layla & Ringo's you are so perfect. The thought & detail that went into this grocer/coffee shop/cafe has not gone unnoticed and I freaking love it. I came on a weekday and it was jam packed with other remote workers which was so great to see. I grabbed a seat at the bar. In the summer, the garage door opens up, so I will definitely be coming back to enjoy that when the weather warms up. To drink I got vanilla bean latte which is made with housemade vanilla syrup. Round of applause for this latte y'all. The perfect balance of sweet and creamy. 10/10. To eat, I went with the avocado toast. friendly baristas, varied drink options (with the ability to add matcha to some of their drink options, which i really appreciated), and a decent amount of seating. this place gets pretty busy the closer it gets to noon. it's a great spot to work, and a lot of people do just that, (myself included). they even have a few little phone booth rooms, which i've never seen at a cafe and is a huge plus for people who may have midday meetings. the turkey club sandwich was also delicious. this is a great spot for dog lovers as well, as they have a little wall dedicated to doggy photos. read more

Have walked by this coffee shop so many times and finally stopped in. I'm glad I did - it's a cute and refined space that has a gourmet market attached. The baristas were so kind and friendly. I ordered a summer special - the milk and cookies cold brew - and thought it would come with Cookie Crisp cereal on top but it didn't :( maybe they were out of the topping. Oh well! The drink was good, not exactly what I was expecting. I'm not sure cold brew was the right choice for this drink. The cookie milk at the bottom tasted exactly like leftover milk and cookies. It had little bits of cookies that added an interesting texture. The cold brew just sat on top of the drink and didn't really incorporate into the cookie milk no matter how much I mixed. I know they do fun special drinks frequently so I will be back to try some more! read more

I really really want to love this place. I've been twice now and it's been a little rough. It's very expensive for what you get and the staff seems grumpy. Super cute cafe! I love that it's dog friendly, the space is pretty big and airy. I also love the little store connected to the cafe. I came in for breakfast on a weekend morning, so there was a bit of a line to the door. But that was just more time for me to say hi to all the cute pups. I ordered the pumpkin spice chai and the breakfast burrito. The chai was delicious. Not super sweet, and perfectly spiced. The burrito was flavorful and pretty filling. It took a bit for the food to come out, but when it did, it was piping hot and delicious. Overall, super amazing spot! I went again a few days later for a matcha latte which was also delicious. This place is cute but very small. It's packed most of the day, but they close at 6pm so that's nice if you have to study. The turmeric latte I had was delicious. The purple sweet potato chips I had were interesting and the ham and cheese croissant I had was ok. They offer actual food items, which I appreciate over the traditional pastry only approach most cafes offer. It feels like a smaller scale foxtrot, they have a very small grocery section to the side. Now, I wish I could keep saying good things because this is one of the coffee shops I was excited about before I even got on the plane to Chicago. My partner got the Pistachio Honey Latte but it just didn't taste like much of either and tasted extremely watered down. I tried ordering a strawberries and cream matcha but I believe they were out of strawberry syrup so I asked for a suggestion from the cashier instead, to which they said blueberry but I believe they was a miscommunication or confusion because my matcha didn't taste much of anything as well. It may have done something with the way I was ordering where maybe I was being confusing so I will take blame for that. We also ordered a breakfast sandwich which was good! I will give grace where grace is always due-- it did seem like the baristas behind the counter were stressed with the volume of people coming in and they were not adequately staffed. I've been coming here every week since it opened. I live right around the corner so it's my definite go-to! I have noticed however the espresso taste in my latte is getting less flavorful and more bland. Also the vanilla & vanilla bean flavors have changed as well. Lots of tables and couches for you to work at - in fact the cafe is quite quiet because everyone is working on their laptops. Didn't see much chatter happening at all. There's also a little store attached with cute groceries and books. I got the vanilla bean latte decaf with coconut milk. Wanted to be cutesy and try it with coconut milk cuz I normally love coconut milk - but for some reason, it made this drink taste a bit sour. Thank goodness they had a little condiments bar where I could spice up the latte with my usual soy milk - made it much more creamy and then I loved my drink! We also tried the grilled cheese and tomato bisque. Grilled cheese was quite good, but could've had more types of cheeses. Overall I thought the food and drinks I tried were ok, but I loved the ambiance, decor and the fact that it was dog friendly. Similar to foxtrot, they have a large section of the store dedicated to selling speciality foods, fun trinkets and dog treats and the other side is seating. I loved looking at all the fun foods and admiring all the small details in the cafe. The staff were also very friendly too. I got the honey bee latte which tasted mostly like bee pollen, but wish I could taste the espresso a bit more. My friends and I shared a breakfast Sammy, avocado toast and a chicken Caesar wrap. The best bite in my opinion was the avocado toast, which had burrata, bacon and tomatoes. The breakfast sandwich was a bit small but still tasted ok. Nothing special about the Caesar salad wrap. Really cute spot! Plenty of work space even has little conference booths! I also love how dog friendly it is! I worked there and my pup got to be there too! Such a cute coffee shop that is great for hanging out with friends and for doing work, or even for grabbing some groceries! I came here on a Friday afternoon to do some work with a friend and it was well-populated but overly busy or too crowded. I like that they have different sections of the coffee shop and that it was spacious. One end has lots of tables and a long table with outlets that is great for working. It also has a few private phone booths if you need to take work calls! The middle of the cafe is more loungey and has really comfy couches with coffee tables that have various games and coloring sheets. This is also where the cashier counter is and barista so you see this right when you walk in. The other end of the cafe is a grocery section where you can grab food, snacks, or whatever you need. The space is so intentionally designed to serve the specific functions of working, hanging out, and buying goods, and it's also very aesthetic and cute! I love the dog theme, and you can even place a photo of your pet in their little drop box by the dog bulletin board display and they'll put it up on the board. Given the many functions the cafe serves, especially the optimal space for working, I love that they close later than other cafes (7pm most evenings). They also have an outdoor patio out front. For coffee I got the iced pistachio latte and loved it! It was not too sweet and had a moderate pistachio flavor. Staff were kind. The space was clean, and their bathrooms were spacious. I love this place! I'm so glad it's in the neighborhood. I've had their iced vanilla latte, as well as the speciality vanilla latte (or were they the same thing? I don't know.) I thought the latte was good but it's definitely expensive. For food I've tried the ham and cheese croissant, breakfast burrito, and lox bagel. I thought the ham and cheese croissant was delicious. The lox bagel had a lot of toppings which I appreciated. The breakfast burrito was my least favorite but that's because I prefer a more simple California style breakfast burrito. My only minor minor complaint is that since this place is so great for coworking that tables fill up and don't seem to vacate, so if you want to sit and enjoy your food and drink there then go earlier on the weekends. read more

This cafe is soooo aesthetic. I loved doing work here and I can see it being a popping spot when the weather gets nicer in the summer. I loved the decor, open space, and sunlight. There are a ton of reviews saying this place is dog friendly and you think it would be given there are dogs in the logo and THEY HAVE A DOG MENU. But word to the wise they are actually not dog friendly (your pet must be a service animal!!) I've been here a few times with my under 15 lb dog to grab a coffee and a pup cup and this morning I walked in with her and was told to leave as they only allow service dogs. When I explained I had been there before with my dog and was just going to order something and leave they said it didn't matter and that if she wasn't a service dog I would have to leave.
