Parul is the best!!!! Before I continue with my review, I would like to mention that I had never gotten threaded before meeting Parul and I will never see anyone else other than her! I have lived as far as Valley Village and would still travel the distance to have her thread me. I fully trust in her and we have gotten to build a closer relationship with each other in the past 3+ years. My eyebrows are naturally uneven and one of the brows grows in a different direction than the other (the saying that your eyebrows are sisters and not twins - this is me!) but Parul works her magic on me and turns me into a woman (inside joke with her is that I come in all hairy like a man and then she turns me into a woman again). She's quick and thorough with her threading skills. I highly recommend that you see Parul for your threading needs - she will change your life! read more

Very disappointed. I had gone there before and was very pleased. This time not so much. I went for a full face and eyebrow procedure. They never wiped down my face with antiseptic but began threading. Every time I've gone to get threaded it usually takes at least 30 minutes. This only took about 15-20. They do have you look in the mirror when they're done but truthfully it's hard to see. I did feel my face and it felt smooth. However, when I got home and looked more closely, I saw there were a lot of hairs they didn't get. Also, the day after I had red welts all over my face! I have never experienced that before. Yes, I take responsibility for not asking for them to wipe my face with antiseptic before they began and yes, I probably should have gone out into the sunlight with a magnified mirror. However, I do expect an establishment to have procedures and systems for quality control so that customers don't have to tell them what to do. I will not be returning read more

All of the ladies at Layla (at any location, but the Thousand Oaks one in particular) are very skilled, fast, and perform virtually painless eyebrow threading. They also don't shame you for unkempt eyebrows like some OTHER threading places will. They also don't try to pressure you into buying extras, which is usually just annoying and makes you feel like a hairy wildebeest! Lol. I go here every two weeks and am always in and out. There's rarely a line, and they charge only $10 for eyebrows (make sure to give a tip!). The atmosphere in the studio is nice, relatively quiet, and pretty. Overall, consistent and great experience. I went for over a year but since then, I'd moved. I normally went to Chandni because she was consistent, listened and rarely, if ever, had any cuts. With her, you barely feel anything, which is rare. The shape is typically even and I say typically because no one is perfect. Another thing I'd like to point out is that from the time I'd walk-in, to the time I would leave, I felt welcomed. They are so nice and seem to all want to do a good job. The worst service I've ever seen. I came in here yesterday for a full face threading. The lady was nice but she definitely doesn't know how to thread. I told her that I have very sensitive skin so please be careful with the cheek area. She said she will take care but she kept ripping off my hair and skin leaving me with rashes all over my cheeks and i bled in some spots too. I hated the service and after everything was done and after i complained how much it hurt and how unsatisfied I was with the service, she had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to tip her. I've been coming to the LayLa location in Thousand Oaks for a few months now. I saw Parul mentioned on other Yelp reviews so came in to see her. As others have stated, she is very skilled, friendly, and does an AMAZING job! A few times I brought my 2 kids in with me because I was in a pinch, but the last couple of times I've been able to come in without them. Guess what? Parul asked that I please bring them because she loves kids and enjoys having them around. I was not expecting that! And it just makes it even easier for me to come in and maintain my brows! I've ALWAYS done waxing because I was too afraid to try threading/was just used to waxing my brows. Lately my regular waxing place (a nail joint) has been providing me horrible customer service. I would wait about 20-25 just to be helped for a quick eyebrow wax. I decided to give LayLa a try and was so so SO pleased! I am never going back to waxing! I walked in and was greeted immediately and then sat down a second later. She began quickly. I was so scared it'd hurt but if you can tolerate waxing this should be a breeze. Cons- threads burns-- I've gotten my eyebrows threaded a plethora of time before so it's not that my skin is sensitive it's that the girl was to rough with the thread. Missed a few patches that I ended up plucking myself but could have clearly gotten threaded out. Ambiance: nice tunes in the background but kind of smelled like b.o. A bit nauseating. Put some air fresheners or plug ins and it'll make the place as serene as the colors and decorations want it to be. Overall review: Eyebrow threading was good. Place needs to smell as good as it looks. Be gentle. I still left a pretty good tip even though I have scars now. I won't be returning though. read more

I really didn't want to write this review but I want to warn people so this doesn't happen to them. About five months ago I went in here to get my eyebrows done before going on a trip (i had been here multiple time and they had always been great) I want to someone new expecting them to be just as good but during the process of getting my brows threaded I could feel something was off it was taking too long and it felt like they were taking out a lot of hair. after she was done I noticed she had made my eyebrows much thinner than normal BUT she had also taken One end of my eyebrow completely off. honestly i was so shocked i cried. they were super apologetic and I spoke to the manager and they gave me a gift card which i thought was very nice. i went twice more and they were fine but i never felt like my brows looked as clean as i wanted them to be but I was still growing them out so it was fine. I just went back a few days ago and I have to say I will not be going back. it doesn't even look like they did anything to my eyebrows and they took part of the tail of my eyebrow off AGAIN after I had spent months growing it back. i'm super disappointed because I really wanted to like this place because the manager is so nice but I can't keep doing this to my eyebrows, should have learned the first time. not to mention they have almost doubled their prices in the last year. read more

Warning! I got a total of 8-10 cuts on my eyebrows coming here on both sides of my brows. I've done threading for 10+ years and occasionally get 1-2 cuts but this is unheard of!
