We shared the falafel (my favorite), the sfeeha (best enjoyed warm, as they get a bit tough once cooled), and the beet dip, which was tasty but perhaps a little too much...I'd recommend trying the sampler dip instead. We're not from the area and we just came across Laziz Kitchen in Salt Lake City after visiting Boneville Salt Flats trying to grab a lunch before continuing on our way to Arches National Park in Moab, UT. This is a nice Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant in the area. We had the Falafel, Lamb Burger and a dessert. My Lamb burger is really good with cauliflower on the side. The service is great and waiter is very nice by even sharing with us a bit of a trivia about SLC. Given the chance to be back here in SLC, I will definitely visit Laziz Kitchen again. read more

My colleague and I went here for lunch today. It was my first time, but he goes occasionally. I got the falafel wrap and fries, and the fries were fantastic! I also really enjoyed the falafel wrap. The hot sauce was the perfect level of spicy, but I didn't realize it was habanero -- I'm not a fan of the sweet flavor. My colleague ordered the shakshuka and really enjoyed it, he said he's had it before. We both got the baklava and it was nothing to write home about, but I'd order it again if I had a sweet tooth. They also have sweet hazel cakes, though, so I'd probably order one of those instead! read more

I was craving something hearty yet fresh to cool me down in this insane UT heat, and Laziz Kitchen delivered. I ordered the Lebanese Bowl with Kafta, and it came out in a perfect portion size. The beef was cooked wonderfully and was packed with flavor! My sister ordered the Baba Ghannouj dip which was delightful and super light. I even told our server that it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Our service was quick but we were also the only customers inside. I know their other location on 9th is a bit more trafficked but I'm closer to this one so it's convenient to visit! My first visit to this location of Laziz Kitchen and I was impressed. I didn't realize behind the restaurant is the Back Door a quaint cocktail lounge serving the full menu of Laziz. I ordered the Mediterranean Platter which offered a nice combination of flavors. Your choice of protein is included and I selected the Kafta which is a seasoned beef. This platter was fresh and flavorful and I left satisfied. Plus enjoying an Old Fashioned with my meal was a bonus. The service was prompt and attentive. Looking for a great hidden spot in SLC this is it! We loved everything about this place. Service, food and ambiance check! The music was amazing too ! Great casual but food was definitely elevated. Fresh as can be and so tasty. I love the Mediterranean smells and textures and flavors. We had lunch here and it was pretty steady busy, they had a patio and plenty of seating inside too. We had the zaatar fries to start with and yes a must get. Crunchy and great zesty spices. My friend had the salad bowl. It comes with so many veggies and she chose the cauliflower side. Again so fresh and colorful and so much of it. Huge plate! I tried the cauliflower which was really good. Slightly flash fried so not too oily. I had the Lebanese bowl, another great dish, lentils, rice, veggies and I had the chicken added. I love their tzatziki. So good! These. Dishes come with plenty of food and great share but never overly heavy . I love that. Our server was awesome and took care of us nicely. They serve beer, wine and sodas and coffee and teas. Oh, I got the sampler of dips, which came with hummus, baba ghanouj, and a beet dip. It wasn't bad, but the bread was a little stale. Next we have that zaatar fries, which flavor wise were amazing. I got the addition of garlic, cilantro, and red pepper flakes. I didn't like the fries were extremely oily, and that they were so unevenly cooked. Now the salad bowl was the winner for me. Extremely fresh, earthy, complex and flavorful. The dressing is very light, which I loved, and butter lettuce, quinoa, tomatoes and black olives worker wonderfully together. Meh. I really wanted to like this place, but overall it was average. The place itself was nice, clean and a pleasant environment. The staff was nice and informative, but the food just lacked flavor. The Kafta was lacking flavor and spice, the falafel, was a little dry and had a strange flavor, and the hummus was just off for me. I'll try it again to see if it was just an off night in the kitchen, but bland and average are the words that come to mind after the meal. It was also a little expensive for the price. read more

Amazing!!! Went for my fiancés birthday and it did not disappoint. Service was extremely nice, store was a quaint size and we got a nice window seat. Drinks were great, I got an herbal hot tea that was very berry forward. We started with the trio sampler and moved all the dips and fresh pita and veggies. They even offered us more pita and veggies since we still had some dips left after eating the original. We then tried their famous beef empanada type app and that came with an awesome dipping sauce. Lastly we got a lamb meatball veggie bowl to share and it was fantastic! All the veggies melted in our mouth and the spices and flavor's from the bowl blended perfectly! I would say everything was a little more Americanized than other traditional Mediterranean places we've been to but it was 100/10 great place to take friends who you want to get into Mediterranean food. This Lebanese restaurant is really good!!! Their hummus and dips are a must try. We order the Beet Dip, CAULIFLOWER FLORETS that are fried, LAZIZ LEBANESE BOWL and LAMB BURGER. The lamb burger had a strong flavor it was ok, but the flavor was overwhelmed after eating most of the burger, and I didn't finish it. The Beet Dip was so good!!!! Had a wonderful experience at Laziz downtown on a Thursday night. Our waitress, Ellie, was a true delight and made us feel incredibly welcome while providing us with excellent menu recommendations. I got the chicken entree and it was delicious. Ellie recommended a must try cocktail -- the frosted water lily. The Muhammara starter was perfect to share with two people and comes with warm pita and fresh veggies. We couldn't decide between the baklava or croissant beignets for dessert and ultimately went with the beignets. We were not disappointed! They come with three dipping sauces, but the cinnamon honey butter was by far our favorite pairing. I was curious about this place because I love Mediterranean wraps and bowls, but I haven't had any good Mediterranean food in Utah; Laziz Kitchen continued the trend. I ordered a chicken Laziz wrap, which was drenched in so much sauce that it was pouring out of the wrap and was so soggy you couldn't even pick it up. The sauce was their "habanero aioli", which basically just tasted like ketchup. Essentially, I received a ketchup burrito. The wrap was filled with GIGANTIC chunks of cucumber, bell peppers, halved grape tomatoes, and soggy lettuce. It tasted like a wet salad with a ketchup-y dressing. The chicken in it was pretty good though. I bet they have some other menu items that are good, but the wrap is ridiculous and overpriced. Overall, I didn't eat much of it because I couldn't get over how sweet the sauce was. At the very least, stay away from the habanero aioli. read more

We have eaten here several times and each time I wonder why I came back. Here is the answer.... I shouldn't. It's overpriced for what you get. $7 side of chicken is a tiny piece of tasty chicken with roasted tomatoes. My main gripe is the size. The plate is ordered today was the med platter. The rice is tasteless and they give you a giant serving of it. 4 small undercooked falafel balls that seem like the wrong consistency for a falafel ball. The hummus and tabouleh are great but such a tiny amount for the platter. Each time I come here I leave unsatisfied for one reason or another. It's a greek style chipotle.
