I've been coming to Lazy Acres for over a year, ever since moving into the neighborhood, and I'm really glad this store replaced the old Rite Aid. It feels like a huge upgrade. Overall, this is easily one of my go-to grocery stores in LA, and I literally stop by almost every day. The store is always organized, clean, and easy to shop. Not everything is organic, but they carry a lot of great products, and the overall selection is strong. I usually get my daily produce here, and I also buy wine here pretty often. The water refill area is always kept clean, which I appreciate, and their fresh juice section is one of my favorite parts of the store. The larger juices come in plastic, but the price on the orange juice is hard to beat, so I keep going back for it. I also like their prepared food section. During one stretch I was buying it pretty often and was always happy with the options, especially since a lot of the food avoids seed oils and uses grass-fed beef. They even have a live kitchen where you can sign up for classes and participate in food prep, which is a really cool touch and makes the store feel more thoughtful and community-oriented. The staff is another big plus. I've interacted with a lot of the cashiers and employees here, and they've all been sweet, personable, and genuinely pleasant to talk to. You can tell the people working here care and that the store is trying to offer a better experience. My only real issue is the meat and fish section. I've tried a lot from it over time--chicken breast, wings, ground wagyu, marinated items, branzino--and too often I've felt like I wasn't getting the freshest product. That's the one department that has consistently let me down. It's disappointing because the rest of the store is so strong. I also don't really understand why the wagyu ground beef costs almost double when it's formed into patties, but that's more confusing than a dealbreaker. At the end of the day, I still think Lazy Acres is one of the best grocery stores in LA, especially for convenience, cleanliness, product mix, and staff. But I've pretty much told myself to stop buying meat here, because for the same price I can get much better quality from a proper butcher. Since it's only a 3-minute walk from me, I'll absolutely keep coming back, just with a little more selectiveness about what I buy. read more

Don't feel safe in this parking lot. There's always someone loitering, sitting around, windows rolled down and/or smoking, etc. Once I saw someone changing clothes in their car. There's two security guards inside the store but one of them should always be checking the parking lot. The people who are not there to shop need to leave and make room for shoppers. A big bus is always parked right by the in/out ramp of the store, and you always have to drive around it. read more

Let me get this out of the way: this is not your average grocery store. The produce department looked gorgeous, the meat counter was top-notch, and the fish was clearly fresh. The employees were genuinely helpful and a cut above what you usually find at a grocery store -- and yes, you pay a premium for that. I picked up some vegetables and fruit, and the pineapple was outstanding -- easily the best I've bought in the U.S. The vegetables were noticeably better than what I get at my local market. This is a great place to shop when you want high-end produce, meat, or fish. Would I do my weekly grocery shopping here? Probably not. Did I just hit the new thoughtful grocer + health market, because I'm absolutely in love with Lazy Acres. This extensive produce, bakery, frozen goods, fresh finds, gluten-free friendly, vegetarian friendly and very vegan friendly grocery store is my next favorite in Greater LA's East Hollywood / Los Feliz area. I'm in the area monthly a handful of times and got done with what I needed and decided to explore. The layout, the products, the prices, the wine & spirit section... It all wowed me... A lot of my go-to grabs at other more major grocers (Ralphs, Pavilions, Whole Foods, TJ's aka Trader Joe's, Grocery Outlet) were significantly more affordable O.O this felt like such a dreamy experience and I don't need a rewards card? The service is kind and thoughtful. I've never see so many people on the floor re-stocking or offering to assist. The pre-made goodies are excellent. Had a nice bowl for lunch along with some yummy plant-based goodies. I got more than I thought I would and it was still a lot less than going anywhere else. Self checkout was super easy with some fun items around the registers for those final additions. They even have utensils at the end, for on your way out, because I totally spaced. The parking lot is plentiful, being the old Rite Aide and fully remodeled. Lazy A is also accessible for locals on foot. The Metro Hollywood/Western station is a beat up the street. They have a nice small patio you can access from inside the store. Some stylish ladies were vibing in there living their best Lazy Acres life. Definitely will enjoy a meal or treat in here. I'm out in the main L.A. Valley/SFV area so this isn't as local to me, but absolutely worth the trip to Western Avenue/Franklin Avenue where this Lazy Acres resides. This place is amazing! They have fresh organic food it overshadows Whole Foods and Erewhon. Way superior.

Definitely pricey, but the options are pretty vast. The ambience is great, and the staff are very warm.

11/10/24 Lets check this Lazy Acres in HOLLYWOOD Honestly, we stopped by to use their clean facilities, of course, I would snap a few & make a meaningful review, no time is a-wastin'! The design & space looks purposeful. Tasteful decor all around. The produce department looks well maintained & arranged nicely. Price-wise on the higher end, perhaps almost comparable to Gelson's or Wholefoods. Selection of produce is somewhat limited (ethnic produce). Parking is free but feels a bit cramped. There's a small area at the front where patrons can enjoy their drinks or treats, next to the indoor coffee/juice shop, in proximity of the fresh flowers. I was feeling slightly famished so I purchased from the salad bar ($11.99/lb) & a few cookies. The salad was fresh & tangy, tasty! **** I felt like I aged about 5 years waiting in line at the self checkout. There's 4 kiosks but only 2 were open. Can't fault the slow patrons---but why only 2, seriously?! Two registers were open & I could sense the impatience of the patrons waiting their turn. I know this ain't Costco but I expected the staff to be more expeditious (not unless they're really living up to the name LAZY? LOL). So I jumped over to the manned register & waited my turn. I've been making turkey sandwiches at home. I use mustard in my sandwich because it's healthier than mayo. Bone suckin mustard has been my favorite brand of mustard. Unfortunately, Ralph's stopped carrying this brand of mustard. I searched instacart and Lazy Market is the only store in the area that carries this brand of mustard. I started shopping here after boycotting Lassens for their moral, political views and among other things. I love the fact that there's parking at Lazy Acres, doesn't feel crowded or stuffy to compare, people are nice here and food is great in this location. 7.9/10 juice and coffee bar - I liked everything I got so far because I know it's healthy/good for me. Service is ok--sometimes slow. 7.7/10 hot food bar - can be a hit or miss. There's a lot of variety, but if you come later in the day, it can look sad 8.1/10 poke bar - delicious and fresh poke. Being in Beachwood canyon my neighbors and I were very excited to welcome this high end pristine market. Once inside the displays are very impressive with floral arrangements, gloriously fresh and colorful vegetables and fruit. This is all flanked by a smoothie beverage bar, a deli counter, a self serve prepared hot food department and a bakery. There are many cheeses displayed everywhere, one could hope to be trapped inside (accidentally) and be happy. I always experience that happiness factor when I wonder around the store. The meat/fish department is a wall to wall display of many selections. The liquor/wine department is very well stocked and impressive. Overall market is fine and clean. Prices are expensive. I am here to specifically comment on the cafe and prepared foods. I got an iced ube matcha latte and it was literally the WORST matcha I have ever had. Didn't taste like ube and the matcha seemed gritty. Also they didn't put enough ice so the drink was room temp! Based on that drink I need not be ordering any specialty drinks. Secondly, I bought a chicken pot pie. This also was one of the most disgusting things I have ever eaten. The inside was grey and gelatinous even after microwaving. There was hardly any chicken and they put in weird vegetables that don't belong in chicken pot pie like zucchini, squash, and parsnips. My husband asked if this was supposedly to be a vegetarian pot pie. NOPE!! Literally better off getting a frozen pot pie from Marie Callendar's. read more

Awesome store with an amazing inventory if you're vegetarian or vegan, but specifically I had the most incredible experience at the Lazy Acres cooking class led by the amazing Chef Rachel. From the moment I walked in, Chef Rachel created such a warm and welcoming environment it was clear right away how passionate she is about food and teaching. She was incredibly patient, taking the time to walk me (I was the lone student for the Quinoa Veggie Salad & Bean Medley Salad course) through the recipes. Her friendly demeanor made the class feel fun and relaxed, while her knowledge and enthusiasm made it genuinely educational. I walked away not only having made a delicious meal, but also feeling more confident and inspired in the kitchen. Chef Rachel has a gift for making people feel at ease while also helping them grow. Lazy Acres is lucky to have her, and I can't wait to sign up for another class soon. Highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to learn, eat well, and enjoy a wonderful time! read more

I take back what I said about them using less seed oils. The hot food bar is not nearly as good as Lassen's or Whole Foods. It's uninspired, it doesn't change or evolve and a lot of the food is drowning in seed oils. read more

I love it here! Such great selections and helpful staff. Things I haven't seen at Erewhon, WF, Lassens or Sprouts. And the prices are reasonable and on par. I think the biggest thing for me is the staff. The first time I went I believe her name is Victoria in the Natural Living dept. SUPER helpful and kind. Helped me decide on a few things I was in between. Vic is amazing, and great with people, and Reginald is equally amazing and makes for a pleasant experience in the store. The other employees frequently ask if you need help, but not to the point of being annoying. It's perfect and refreshing. The only issue I've had is I bought a sea moss gel, and after I traveled out of state w it I noticed it expired 5 days after I bought it!! I promptly called and spoke w Emily who told me when I got back to come in and either get a refund or another one! I asked if she needed a photo or to bring it and she said no, they trusted me! Never had anyone at a store say that. I brought my receipt in when I got back and Roc was pleasant enough but it wasn't as seamless as it was made to sound. So my only suggestion is to check dates, it's also happened at Erewhon (that was a truly seamless process), so it's just a good rule of thumb across the board. Stores esthetic was amazing! Unfortunately, like all other predominantly Caucasian places you will catch the "what are you doing here" looks and have people quite literally reverse their shopping carts when they notice an African American down an aisle they were prepared to go down and high tail in the opposite direction like I'm going to steal their cookies lol. Not to mention I was asked twice did I need help finding something by workers who proceeded to neglect my fellow counterparts of a different shade. Where do I begin? The parking lot is big - but this place gets some heavy traffic so be prepared to wait a bit. When I walked in the first thing that hit me was its "brightness". It's well lit and pretty to look at. The aisles are easy to figure out. The extent of the products they offer - including GF & organic - is off the charts! From Chilean Sea Bass to Bison to Vegan - it's all here! There's so much I would do it an injustice to try and list it. They have an amazing hot & cold "ToGo" area right next to their FRESH BAKERY! And the stuff that lines the bakery counter is AH-MAZE-ZING!! My friend, Beth, recommended this place. I just moved back to California and needed some stuff. So, when we pulled into this LAZY ACRES I was thinking, "Oh boy, another snooty grocery store". I was wrong. The staff were all friendly!! And they smile. Yay! Do you like cookies? Well F me! These cookies - which come in weighing at close to 1/3 lb each are friggin outrageous! I got a Chocolate Chip cookie as well as a Peanut Butter Cookie. I had to temper myself cause I wanted to eat them both at the same time. Let's just say they keep well overnight and are great with a morning coffee. What a way to start the day!! Did anyone ask for top grade sushi? Well, it's in here as well. Soups? Yup!!! Killer produce? YUP YUP! Want to take home something to eat? The salad bar is ridiculously stocked! Want hot food? I recently drove an hour to visit this location. I frequented the Mission Hills location when I lived in San Diego. I've missed it so much! The quality and vast selection of the meat counter is unparalleled, and the produce surpasses that of other high-end markets. Additionally, I found that I spent less money on superior quality food compared to other stores. I plan to make these trips more often, though I wish there were a location closer to my current residence. I shop here often as they're the only store in the area that sells the full variety of a drink I love. The store is always clean and well-stocked. They have a great selection of health and organic foods as well as a big prepared foods section. Their bakery is amazing as well. My biggest gripe is their terrible customer service that has continued to go down hill since their opening. When they first opened, I loved the employees as they were always so polite and friendly. I remember about 6 months ago when I had my first negative interaction with the cashier and how thrown off I was. Then every time I went after that, it seemed that more and more of their employees had the same bad attitude. To give examples: having personal conversations without interruption when customers are around, kicking boxes across the store without saying excuse me or checking if it's in a customers way, not giving tokens at the end when bringing your own bags, no one going to the order counter when someone is trying to order food, saying "I don't know" and continuing to ignore me when I ask for help finding something, charging me for the person in front of me's groceries because they forgot to finish the transaction, etc.. I unfortunately continue to come because they have items I buy that Erewhon, Sprouts, and Whole Foods don't stock but every time I'm there I'm reminded why I don't like it anymore. Cmon Lazy Acres DO BETTER!!!!! This needs to go higher up the chain because as you'll read in some of the reviews here they are having serious staff issues clearly with miserable staff members and it's not changing. First off, the Main Meat (Butcher) Guy Bob at this store since it opened is NOT NICE, IS CONDESCENDING, Hates women, & CLEARLY HATES WORKING HERE (lawsuits are in the future of this business with him there) and Lazy Acres lets him continue to work here and doesn't care. Literally stopped shopping for meats here from the first month of your opening because of him. Today once again at check out, the staff member didn't even respond to me saying Hello and How are You. We have plenty of places here in the neighborhood to shop at, and we want to frequent Lazy Acres but it's not worth it if the staff here is so lousy that you leave a market wishing you shopped elsewhere. I don't know what's going on with working for Lazy Acres but I can't imagine they are paying employees decently. When these issues have been rectified let us all know. People don't come back to grocery stores or any business for that matter once you put a bad taste in their mouth repeatedly. I keep going back because they send out coupons in the mail, then end up walking around and leaving without buying anything, or just grabbing a drink and that's it. The prices are higher than other stores with the same inventory, but the selection is... I don't know how to explain it. It's like they have a massive selection of everything *except* the thing I actually want. If you go too close to closing time, the butcher counter gets shut down so you can't get meat because it's already been packed up. I've also only two or three times been given a charity token for having my own bag - all other times no token, and never once at self-checkout. The place is clean and the staff is nice, but I don't like shopping here. read more

I've gone to this place many times as a local and I really enjoy it. One of my favorite grocery stories. They always have so many options and a wide variety of foods, including general needs items as well. I've never had a bad experience with an employee before, but even still, it's a grocery store. I don't know what people are expecting-- these aren't premium five star hotel employees. They aren't exactly paid enough to go above and beyond for you. The people I interact with are perfectly civil and accommodating to the extent of their job description, which is all I ask for in a grocery store experience. I love the parking lot this location has, you don't need to pay for parking, that's super luxurious in Hollywood. Lots of vegan and vegetarian friendly meal options to eat in store and to go. They have good sales. I don't know where all the bad reviews are coming from, it's kind of pricey compared to competitors in the area, but also Lazy Acres is higher quality so it makes sense to me. Would recommend! They also do samples and special setups for holidays which is fun and useful. read more

On a Sunday morning in late July, my family and I drove here to check out the new market. It is a nice addition in Los Feliz. We found parking at 8am and noticed the parking spots are squishy while driving out. Anyway, we walked inside and the layout reminds me of Bristol Farms in Irvine or Santa Barbara. They have food stations on the left side-bbq, Mediterranean, fish tacos, salad bar, breakfast bar, to go food items. In the back is the bakery area of pies, cakes, cupcakes, etc. Then the meat dept is in back with lots of good wagyu steak deals. All the aisles are nicely stocked and clean. They also have a peanut butter grinder. The vegetables are nice stocked. Lots of workers on the floor. There are regular cashiers and self checkout. Best to go at 7am or 8am. read more

I think these people got kicked out of all the other grocery stores so they're showing up here. Lazy Acres, please don't give in to the fake service dogs. They're illegal and dirty and gross, ESPECIALLY hanging out near the open food bars near the front of the store. Net score: three stars. I only come here because I live so close by.... I do like their coupons and sale items. However, the staff here seems very unhappy and miserable -I actually never see them smiling. No one wants to go shopping and pay high prices and have to deal with frowns and bad attitudes from the employees. Maybe they need a change of management or a peptalk. Lazy Acres is the new health food store in town and people are loving it, it seems. The parking lot is always busy and bustling with people which says something, am I right!? So I have shopped in store several times now and I can say I truly enjoy it inside. It's well lit, showcasing all the beautiful vegetables at the moment you walk in. To the right is one of my favorite sections, the supplements which has a large selection of everything you could want followed by the dairy section. To the left is the cafe, hot bar and bakery. The middle has all the other stuff you could want. It is a nice large space with plenty of room in the aisles for people to pass by. The products are all pretty standard and not too different than what you will find in other health food stores. They are more expensive than the neighboring store Lassens, but definitely not more than Erewhon. They do not have a point system in place but they do have some great mailer coupons you can sign up for. Overall I enjoy this place and will stop by here and there, but I will be sticking with my favorite spot, Lassens. read more
