Beautiful campground, great staff and great river access. Only downside.... Everything here is EXPENSIVE. 20$ for some ice cream and a coffee at the store (a cup of ice cream and a small coffee at that) and it's 20$ for a 1 mile bus ride back from Caps after you float the river. 20$ per person (4 and up) PER RIDE. So if you want to float twice in a day it's 40$ a person.... Little steep if you ask me. Also 1$ per 6 minutes in the shower which I don't think should be a charge. read more

Called to cancel my reservation for the weekend while there is flooding all over Texas, on the Guadelupe and nearby, but they encouraged me to come and that the river was fine by them. They have no idea what the next 48 hours may bring to the area. There is one road in and out of there campground and it runs along the river. Crazy! read more

I am very disappointed with how we were treated during our recent visit. We have been coming to this campsite for many years and have spent time at the pavilion many times without any issues. While we were enjoying ourselves and playing cornhole, after being there for about two hours, we were approached and told that we needed to leave because my daughter's top was considered "too revealing." We asked security why other guests wearing clothing that appeared more revealing were not being asked to leave as well. The security officer explained that he was simply following the owner's instructions and had been told to ask us to leave because of my daughter's clothing. We also asked why we had been allowed into the pavilion in the first place if her outfit was considered inappropriate, but we never received an answer. Several other guests told us they had not been approached or asked to leave. As we were leaving, one woman even commented that she did not see anything wrong with my daughter's blouse and felt that the issue may have been related to comments made earlier during the live band's announcements, which we did not even hear because we arrived much later. We have always loved coming here, but this experience put a damper on our trip. In fact, my son wanted to go back home the following day even though we still had two more nights remaining on our reservation. We understand that businesses have the right to enforce dress codes, but we would have appreciated clear communication, consistency in enforcement, and respectful treatment. read more

First, not sure why yelp has my location as CA but I'm from the Tx hill country. I've stayed at L&L (tent & rv) or hungout at Devil's Playground every year for decades, but I think they have finally lost our business for good. We could put up with the supremely narrow rv sites, and the nickel and diming (paying for compressed air, dirty shower access, and the high cost of store goods & rentals). We could abide by the un-enforced rule about no dogs, even though there have been dogs at campsites every time we go, but we didn't want to get kicked out so we followed the rules. Similar for quiet hours, and we're night owls so we're well aware of the party noise, and commotion from fights. We are always very careful using the rickety water steps at riverside rv sites, which can be dangerous because they're not maintained. However, increasing prices 213% from last year has and will keep us from the campground this year and more than likely into the future. There are too many other options less crowded and better maintained for the price point. Another campground we stay at has supremely better amenities for back-in rv sites that are $10 more/night than L&L's new rates, and pets are allowed! I get that tariffs are starting to bite, but this is ridiculous, as there was plenty of time to prepare. It was on the agenda since Trump began his 2024 campaign. read more

safe parasites are in the water. A group received a parasite. With filing a complaint they were rude and disrespectful. We spent a lot of money there. We were not asking for a refund but simply trying to let them know. Instead of them caring they got extremely rude and treated me as if I was the problem. As I posted on the Internet I found several others who received parasites. Please be cautious and when they say swim at your own risk meaning they have parasites in the water. We have gone to Lazy L & L Campground several times and have had good experiences. NOT this time, can't say what has changed to the management but our last experience was NOT favorable they have the rudest customer service we have ever experienced at a RV park. Rules only apply to the weekend traveler, we stayed four nights and encountered rudeness at many levels. Yet the long-term rentals had the run of the place breaking all the so-called rules. We were nickeled and dimed at every turn. I don't mind that every person coming in and out has to pay a Ten Dollar Day fee if they stay more than 10 minutes to drop off Grandkids that have been paid for or to bring them any needed items ie forgotten medicines. But to also push your rudeness to young audits like they are thefts is uncalled for. And the no pet rule, what a joke there are dogs everywhere, not on a lash or even an owner in site. Multiple time I watch them defecate at our site. We hope that management gets these issues uncontrolled so hopefully we can return and have a more pleasant experience because the Texas Hill Country is a beautiful place. And understanding and kindness goes a long way. RUDNESS not so much. read more

Don't laugh but it took so long to write this review that I even lost half or more of the photos. But this place is spectacular to spend with the family. We decided to get to this place since my wife had never gone through the camping experience, well, I found this place with many spaces available and with all the appropriate equipment we set off on an adventure. We run our own booth and I leave you some tips; Camping is to get in touch with nature, so do not protest if you do not have Wi-Fi, there is no reason to bring video games, never leave your mosquito repellent, when you go to take a shower do not leave your sandals people will urinate and you will not you want those bacteria on your feet, if you leave your cooler outside make sure it doesn't open easily you don't want to run out of food because of some raccoons. Talking about this place you can make reservations for the tent area but it will be more expensive than just arriving at the place and selecting a space. This place is beautiful you can throw your tubes into the water or just do some dives from the docks. Seriously need more vigilance and security, some equally.For me the truth is spectacular, dare to do something different with your family and tell me about your experience ... read more

We have stayed here twice. Both times were weeknights and park was quiet and relaxing. We liked the horseshoe area for rvs. Bathrooms are ok, but only needed when setting up and tearing down, so not a deal breaker. We plan to go back. I dont know that I would stay during the weekend of summer because the park gets sold out and it's pretty big. I prefer the smaller crowd. read more

Had such a good time and family came out to join us for a day and made it even more special. The RV sites right on the river are so tight that privacy or quiet is not going to be found but we were prepared for it & just left our blinds down on the side that had a camper right next door. It's still unnerving though to hear/see neighbors right out the window. The only other issue would be the language used by these neighbors when there were small children everywhere. They obviously don't care what their youngsters hear but we don't like our kiddos being around that 24/7. Other than those 2 issues I still like this campground because of the views and tubing. Even their little store up front came in quite handy more than once. We didn't see any other sites to choose from that were right on the river that offered more space so we will just be the right mindset that the fun we will still have is worth it. Wish K & L had some premium sites that offered this because we would be willing to pay more for some privacy. We don't want to stay in one of the bigger spaces in the field area & would rather stay in a site on the river. We also made good use of the docks they have down on the water and made some great memories. read more

If you don't know, how can you ask? They only share info if you ask. Booked with Stephanie. Site X is horrible. It's right next to the road and even with the trees trying to block our tents - it still felt like we were going to get hit in the middle of the night. DON'T book that site. Their property/river map on their building is out of date and confusing. They know this but didn't update it. We paid $180 for a shuttle ride ... that we didn't even need. It took us 7 hours instead of the 5 hours they said it would take so although it sounds fun to be on the river for 7 hours, we almost missed the last bus because it took forever to get to the "yellow house" they told us they would pick us up at. If you are planning on camping here - stay at the main location - NOT at L&L 2. DON'T bother buying a shuttle pass - if you plan on floating and won't even leave their property, it's easier to just float from L&L 2 down to Devil's Playground and then walk back to your camp site (less than 5 min walk). Also, they started charging for showers. They say $1 for 6 min but it's $1 for 5 min and you have to buy their tokens. Also, their website isn't helpful at all. read more

We had never been there so this was a new experience in so many ways. Pros and Cons... Pros: *Staff is friendly, especially Jewel at the front gate. She helped us a few times and was so sweet. *Store staff was slammed and had everyone moving fast through checkout. * Lots of access points to get into or out of the water *Basketball and volleyball courts *Live music on Saturday night *They have tube rentals if you don't have one *Store is fully stocked and has much more than normal camp stores *For an extra fee they will transport you from the end of the river on campsite property and transfer you back to the beginning *Pro if you like to stay up late, Quiet hours begin at 11 during the week and midnight on Fri/Sat nights Cons: *Roads are fine for cars but not so much if you're hauling an RV. With everyone walking in the road and parking in front of their sites, and setting up games and rafts, it takes up a third of the road width. *This IS for people that want to party. It's loud, and there are drunks, and people speeding through the roads between campsites. *There is no way to call security after hours (not sure if they have any, I never saw them once in 4 days). *Quiet hours does not mean it's quiet. On two nights there was partying til around 3am (music shit off at midnight but they didn't). My sons family was staying in a tent site next to the water and on one night, my 7yr old granddaughter got scared because someone was close by being extremely loud and screaming and cursing. *If the map shows empty space, that does not mean you will have peace and quiet. That is overflow for people with no reservations that are willing to primitive camp. We heard laughing, talking and squealing til 3am the first two nights. There were at least 50 tents if not more on burg sidea if the road behind our rv (sites 99 & 100 on the map). So close that they were able to run an extension cord and use the electricity from an unused rv site next to us. ... All in all, I would stay if it was an adult trip and we weren't there to relax but to party and have a good time and drink... but probably wouldn't take the kids again. I would choose another place for that. But definitely not the spot if you're looking to camp and chol. read more

It's very scenic and a great location right on the Guadalupe. We tent camp and were surprised to find electrical hookups available. Washrooms were clean and well taken care of, and the staff we dealt with were friendly and polite. Unless you get a spot right on the river, don't count on any shade. But there are picnic tables and raised grills. So why only two stars? Quiet time doesn't start until midnight. This is not stated anywhere on the website. We wound up with a raging party full of screaming, drunken teens at the RV behind us and some tone-deaf people with a karaoke machine (thanks, electrical hookups) to the side competing with the party for volume. While that was going on, kids were tearing around the campgrounds in tricked-out golf carts (I'm not kidding), kicking up clouds of dust while playing with fake police sirens. And then there was the Tahoe with the windows down, full of young girls in bikinis sitting on the tops of the doors, hollering and getting all the boys and men to holler back. I walked the quarter-mile to the front gate to complain at about 11:45 and the two girls and the police officer were all understanding as they informed me of the midnight cutoff. They claimed that's pretty much standard in the area. By 12:15 or 12:30 a.m., the party and karaoke were over but people were still loudly talking and laughing until around 2 a.m. So, if you're looking for an all-out party spot where the local cops turn a blind eye to underage drinking and recreational smoking, you won't be disappointed. If you're too old to drink yourself into a stupor just so you can get a few hours of sleep, I'd suggest you look elsewhere. read more

The grounds are beautiful and the access to the river is amazing. The Devil's Playground is the perfect area to hangout (and lots of people do). They tend to nickel and dime you here, but so do most tube rental places. Quiet time is midnight, but they do not really enforce it. The bathrooms.... are okay. Sometimes they are clean, sometimes they are pretty gross. I have had trouble several times with my tokens not working in the shower, so that can turn out to be a waste of money. The sites are EXTREMLEY close to one another and if you are near an entrance to the river, people will walk through your campsite to get there. Some sites one the river are not level so take that into account when deciding how many tents can fit. The details are not the best, but the overall experience is actually pretty great. The location was beautiful, but the only problem was that they had a construction project on SPRING BREAK WEEK. I paid to relax and enjoy peace and quiet. We just ended our first weekend at Lazy L&L. We went with a group of friends who camp here annually. The Pros: 1. Beautiful area. 2. Great access to the river 3. Full hook ups at most sites 4. Devils playground was so much fun for my kids 5. Our kids loved playing the beautiful trees 6. WiFi was OK 7. Garbage cans at all sites were emptied several times a day The Cons: 1. When we made our reservations there were two rules that we reiterated over and over, NO check ins before 3pm and absolutely NO dogs. Several people in our party had to leave their pets at home that they normally travel with. So here comes Sunday and the majority of the park up and cleared out, including all of our friends. Not an hour after they left at 10:30 someone came and check into their spot. What happened to the no check ins before 3? And guess what? They showed up with not one, not two but THREE dogs out running around their campsite. They were even walking them around on leashes. Not a big deal since we love dogs, but when they left to go to the river, the dogs were constantly barking in their trailer. 2. This is the first campground we have been to with a midnight quiet time. And it is midnight. There was some crazy jeep weekend going on and it was let's drive around with people hanging out of the Jeep's with music blaring until midnight. Friday night was much worse than Saturday. Sunday was super quiet. 3. LOTS of drunk people all over the place. Walking, driving etc. some couldn't even walk anymore and their friends were just leaving them laying in the parking area. The day passes to enter are only $10 so the park is crazy busy during the day. There is a 5mph speed limit because of the crazy amount of dust that only half the people follow. We couldn't let our kids ride their bikes in the evenings because of the amount of drunk people driving around. 4. The amount of trash on and in the river is very sad. Lazy L&L has trash cans everywhere. There is no excuse for people's laziness. Every morning there was trash everywhere along the river. All up on the banks and along the river. 5. They already have it selected to where somebody else had a chance to do that summer prior and they didn't post anything on the website of the changes in their policy at all. First time I came here. It was mid-June 2019. We camped on tent sites 5 & 6 for 3 days (Friday to Sunday). The Good: I was expecting to be sweating profusely and be covered in mosquitoes. This was due to being summer and be very close to the Guadalupe River. To my surprise, I never had to put on any Off the whole weekend. The water is cold and fast enough to keep mosquitoes from breeding. The cold water on the Guadalupe wipes out the sweltering summer heat within minutes. I like the fact that the tent sites have electrical and water outlets available for each tent site. This allows you to plug a fan or portable AC into your tent to sleep for the night. Bring a power strip, 30ft extension cord, and garden hose. The tubing rental service is good, very scenic, and relaxing. If you come to fish the Guadalupe, it's best using Ultra-Light tackle for small bass and sunfish. We didn't get a chance to visit the dance hall, but it sounded like they were having a good time. The staff everywhere seemed pretty nice. Over 90% of other campers were respectful and nice. We shared The bad: The river will get plenty crowded on Saturday. Enough to bump into each other constantly. Some college kids will bring stereos and blast music loud enough to ruin the relaxing mood when tubing down the river. Bring good rope to tie your floating tubes together and ask how to tie them right. The tent site grounds are uneven, which can make sleeping on the ground uncomfortable. Bring extra padding, air mattress, or a cot. There's no Tent pads like you see on Texas state parks, bring a tarp as well. Only 1 restroom for the 10 tent sites where we were. You'll have to walk a bit to get there. The fire pit construction block wind from most directions. Which can make fire building difficult, so bring plenty of kindling and something to fan the flames. read more

Lazy L&L is located on a great stretch of the river, and you'll have a lot of fun here. There are a couple of caveats I want to get out of the way first: 1) This place attract a ton of younger people, so if you're expecting the park to become quiet at 10 in the evening: forget about it. The party will go on for quite a while. 2) The place can become very crowded on weekends and holidays. If you are aware of these issues, you can have a great time. Generally, we come here to camp with friends and leave the kids at home. The nice thing about Lazy L&L is that they have a nice stretch of calm, deep river right along the first half of the park. You can swim without having to fight the current. And if you want, there are some rapids towards the back end of the park as well for the best of both worlds. There are also some wide-open grassy areas if you want to do something sports related, although it's mostly too hot in the middle of the summer. read more

Rude and Unprofessional Staff My husband and between 3 couples to 20 people have stayed with L & L for the past 6 years, spending tons of money with them. We follow the rules, etc. Generally, even feed the security and ladies at the gate. This year the staff at the gate were so unfriendly, she put a sticker on the window and walked off, not saying a word. We didn't know whether to go or stay. We got to camp and we're discussing the arrival of my daughter with the others. We called the office and was told 1 thing by their staff. When daughter arrived after 4hour drive. The next 4 hours was the management yelling at us- we did not raise our voices or get rude. They screamed and yelled and said some really inappropriate and insulting things. The management does not compromise for their own staff inaccurate actions, they do not care about you as a consumer or a person. They only care about the $ that they can make with or without you, Was basically told this. Our group has decided to never spend another dime with this company. Management that blatantly didn't care about the people that make their job possible. I don't care how nice your Campground is if you treat people so awful, we will not support them. read more

The Camp site is really nice and beautiful. The young lady that checked us in was very nice and helpfyl but the manager on duty was short and irritable. They have a odd policy Where if you stay for the weekend no dogs but if you stay for a month it's OK. I asked if we could sign liability papers as well and we were told no. After a long drive my sister had to drop off her kids and go back home :( A dog rather here a day, a weekend or a month is still a dog. I would have paid a daily insurances fee but they didn't have sense to set something like that up for weekend/weekly customers. As nice as the site is we will never come here again. Two weeks before we stayed at the Guadalupe River State Park which is also aligned w/ the Guadalupe River and our dog was allowed to stay. It was $150.00 cheaper too. Wish they weren't booked for this weekend. Hopefull they will not discriminate in the future. I do plan to look into this issue when I get home. read more

I've camping and floated many times, but this was a first time at L&L. We will for sure be going back! I reserved our spot a month or so in advance, and I just told the gal what I wanted and she hooked us up. We were in spot 20.. which was perfect. Right on the water, with steps nearby to get down to the river. The bathrooms were nearby as well. The negatives: You have to pay $1 per token for 6 minutes for shower. And the bathroom only had 2 showers. So ya it's annoying to pay for it, but it was super annoying to have such few showers for how many campgrounds they have! The office that sells the tubes for rent were very unorganized. You waited in line, and the lady had to explain the whole story to each group. Then you had to fill out a form. I think it would have been much smoother if the forms were hanging somewhere to go ahead and fill out. We will be going back for sure!!! read more

This is a nice camp site with a nice river access, however they will charge you for every ltem they can think of!!! They will charge you for tubes they will charge you for air they will charge you to put YouTube in the water to take it out the water. The chargee for a dog they charge you for family members and guests that come to visit you even two-year-old children. If you rent for the month you can use the laundry facility but if you only rent for 2 weeks you can't use the laundry facility ,forcing us to go to town to use a laundry, however when you come back from using the laundry they will harass you at the gate to make sure you have a wristband on. we are 60 year old individuals who do not party all night,we paid for our site and do not deserve to be harassed just to get back to our campsite, especially when the sticker on the windshield of your truck clearly shows that you belong in this campsite. We have family in the dallas area and asked if there would be a refund if we left two days early, needless to say that was a stupid question , of course the wouldn't do that!!! We have lots of friends and family from this area who told us not to go here!! We will not make that mistake again. read more

The steps down to the water were pretty steep for little ones or if you've had a few too many so be careful, but the dance hall was very clean and great music with great food!! read more

Been coming here for a few years now so I understand how just about everything works. However this time we had 2 of the tubes we rented from them deflate about halfway through the float. Me and my 4 friends had to make do with 3 tubes. When we returned them we asked about what they would be willing to do. The woman simply stated they don't give refunds. I pointed at the deflated tubes as proof and asked again what they could do, and she again shrugged her shoulders and said "we don't give refunds". While the campsites themselves are in a wonderful location with beautiful views of the river I would BEWARE of the staff! They have HORRIBLE customer service skills. Their credit card machine broke down just as a large group of us went to get tubes and shuttle passes--- which in turn made everyone have to use the ATM machine outside. When the ATM machine didn't work for one of my friends the worker replied "sounds like a personal problem to me".I however paid for my shuttle pass in cash and was given 4 shower tokens in return because they had run out of $1 bills. We also had to pay separately for our cooler tubes..which is typically included at similar campsites after the initial tube rental. It also seemed to me that there was no official check-in system for guests who are not staying overnight...some of my friends who were just visiting the campsite got charged $15 a piece just for coming in for 2 hours..while others got charged $10 to stay overnight. ALSO some of the guests who were staying over-night didn't receive wristbands initially and were almost refused them upon going back to the office the next morning. Also, upon contacting management regarding the problems we had--they did NOTHING in the way of correcting their errors or righting their wrongs... SO my advice to you if you are looking for a stress free, enjoyable weekend by the water...is to just stay at a better staffed and far better manged property (plenty off of river road) to save yourself the headache and money. read more
