Buffington trail and the Whitehurst trail loop is about 1.7 mile. Their trail is very well marked. Even if you get off the trail it is easy to pick it back up. Tags on trees and white marks on trees. We enjoy this hiking because it is right next to a coffee shop. This makes me happy

Now, I'm not much a fisherman, never really enjoyed it but never disliked it, just isn't my thing. However, these guys made it a good time. More than willing to educate and talk me and my son through anything and everything fishing related. Overall it was an amazing experience for my family. Would recommend, and will book with them again next time we make our way down here.

The park regularly hosts free concerts and community events, creating a fun atmosphere. There are two large, clean, and well-maintained restroom buildings, along with numerous picnic tables and a couple of grills, making it an excellent spot for a beach cookout or family gathering. Every time I've visited, there has been an ice cream truck parked nearby, and on other occasions I've also seen food trucks offering additional options. There's a small but very nice playground for children, and a sandy boardwalk that leads out toward the beach with beautiful ocean views. One thing I really appreciated was how many restrooms are available throughout the park, so you're never far from one. I also noticed brand-new tennis courts and basketball hoops. The basketball courts are adjacent to the large parking lot, but the lot is so spacious that it never feels crowded. In fact, every time I've come here, there have been hundreds of parking spaces available, making parking incredibly easy. One especially thoughtful feature is the electronic sign at the park entrance, which tells you exactly how many parking spaces are available before you even drive in. Overall, Little Island Park is a clean, well-maintained beach park with excellent facilities, beautiful scenery, and plenty to do, making it one of the best beach parks in the area.

And fishing we did! The Captain, Greg Weaver and the First Mate (I don't know his actual title) Austin made our trip one we will always remember. We caught over 60 mackerels and four large red drum (yes, we released them, not the mackerel). Everyone had a blast! Tips: take your sunscreen, a hat, lots of water, lunch, and motion sickness meds! We did a 6-hour charter. Water was a little rough and we had one man go down with the sickness! Lol You don't have to bait a hook or take off your catch. Austin was right there doing it all and working hard for his money when we had four poles all with fish on them. We left out at 7am and immediately began to troll. We caught fish as soon as we started. We hit a little bit of a lull after a while and Captain moved down a little and found where they were. Twice today we had fish on three rods at the same time. My (adult) kids enjoyed themselves tremendously today. We caught enough for us to eat and began tossing them back. First Mate John did all of the "work" so all we had to do was enjoy fishing. At the end of our half day trip we returned to the marina where Kevin filleted our fish and placed them into gallon freezer bags. I would love to go out with him again. On a side note: in addition to the fishing we saw several pods of dolphins swimming kinda close to us. We also saw sting rays in the water that had some size to them. There's a restroom on this boat.
