My husband is allergic to shellfish, they made him pay full price for the dish and didn't even offer me the lobster portion that he couldn't eat. The atmosphere of the place at 8:30 on a Saturday night is absolutely dreadful and mortem. Dark lighting in there made me feel like I was walking into an empty crypt. No hostess at the desk not a single person in sight. Food looked good on the menu but too bad I wasn't able to enjoy a nice dinner there. After I came in the second time, the hostess came up to the stand only to make me aware they just shut down the kitchen. Ruth Chris prices for Longhorn quality meal and service. I ordered a Filet and they didn't even bring a steak knife. I asked and they said they would bring it out but it never arrived. Filet was okay although it was more like Outback or Texas Roadhouse quality. Definitely not USDA prime. Sides were bad. Shoe string fries were dry and pretty much inedible. Risotto may have been the worse I ever ate. It wasn't cooked all they way and was way too al dente. I guess it is better than eating at the burger place but for these prices maybe not. Unfortunately not many more choices in Weirton nearby so you are kind of stuck with it if visiting mountaineer resort. read more

The service was ridiculously bad. Supposed to be a high-end steakhouse and our server had all the professionalism of a Denny's waitress. Brought a refill of my Diet Pepsi and filled it with Pepsi and left the 20 ounce bottle on the table. So odd. The fillet was very tough and undercooked. I requested medium and it was more like medium rare/rare. Definitely not worth the money they're charging. I've had better steak and service an Outback. On Saturday, July 29, 2023, my wife and I had dinner at the Casino, LBV Steakhouse, at 6:00 PM. I ordered Lobster with a bowl of Onion Soup and glass of Red Wine. The next morning, Sunday, July 30, 2023, when we arrived home in Pittsburgh at 10:00 AM I experienced EXPLOSIVE DIARRHEA with stomach cramps. We were hoping to get the casino buffet but they closed early at 8pm, likely due to covid (even on a Saturday night). So we decided to try this place after walking by. We were seated right away. They brought complimentary bread and butter and waters to our table then we ordered some cocktails ($9 and up). The cocktails were pleasantly strong but not overdone. The bread was warm and delicious! I really enjoyed the atmosphere which was dim and plenty of private space between spacious booths. I ordered the appetizer scallops as an entree with a side of barbecued asparagus. The scallops were melt in your mouth delicious with a sauce similar to hollandaise sauce on them which was amazing! The asparagus was plentiful and made just right. My guy ordered the strip steak (I believe) and potatoes. I had to finish his steak for him but he had it made Pittsburgh medium and it was perfect! My husband and I ate dinner here while staying in the Mountaineer resort. Reservations were required (per the website), however, the place wasn't crowded. You check-in outside the restaurant and are escorted in to be seated. We were seated immediately. The atmosphere was very romantic and relaxing. The lights were dim, there was soft music playing in the background and the decor was black tables/booths decorated in red accents. Our waiter was friendly but not as timely but he did a good job. We were brought bread and oil and spices to dip it in. It didn't take too long for the food to arrive and boy did it look great!! I ordered lamb chops Oscar styles and a side of lobster Mac and cheese. My husband ordered a filet and Truffle Dauphinois Potatoes. The food tasted absolutely amazing. The crab meat on top of the chops was the best I ever tasted. The lamb chops were made to perfection. The asparagus just fit right in. The lobster Mac and cheese put Walmarts box stuff to shame. My husband loved his meal also. His potatoe looked amazing. We talked about driving the hour and half in the future just to eat there again. Kudos to the chef!! read more

After a long week of work, we treated ourselves to a nice meal at LBV. Welcomed to the restaurant by a little tickling of the ivories (piano for the non-musical). The wait staff was very friendly and quick to answer any questions we had. The specials sounded delish...but I went with the filled with mushrooms and risotto. Hubby got the ribeye with peppercorn sauce. Both steaks were done just right and had plenty of leftovers to bring home. We started with the calamari and a bottle of Shiraz...both were just great. We dined here last night, and I can't remember having a better steakhouse experience. Jake the waiter did an excellent job taking care of us, and had some great recommendations for food and drink. Namely, the ribeye steak and filet, and the House Merlot. The Merlot is produced by the owner of the casino estate style. It's reasonably priced and very good quality. The steaks here are priced fairly, aged well and cooked to perfection. Also, be sure to get the garlic toast. It's the lightest, crispiest, garlicky thing you'll ever encounter. GET THE CRABCAKES. They're sublime. LBV has been consistently provided great quality food and drinks, along with excellent service in a comfortable setting, all at a very reasonable price point. The servers are all trained well and to you will begin your meal with a bread basket that has this amazing garlic bread . The steak comes with a side, which I picked creamy spinach, my friend picked creamy mashed potato. The sides are ok, not the best I had but good enough. My husband and I just ate here few days ago. My husband got the elk with grits . He took a few bites of his meal and then told me to try the grits so I did. The grits came with a complementary hair. The manager asked to cook him another plate and my husband said no. We stand by once we complain we do not receive anything else from the kitchen. So my husbands meal was taken off our recite but we had to pay for my meal which I didn't get to finish because once you have a hair in your mouth how can you eat?! The manager refused to comp our meal which would of been the right thing to do! Our bill was only 35$ now this restaurant has unsatisfied customers. Just ate here this weekend so I wanted to write an update while the experience is still fresh on my mind. For starters, I had two crab cakes for appetizer. They were both delish (see my first review). I also had the L.B.V. greens salad. I though I was ordering the ham, roasted peppers and fresh mozz (same as L.B.V.) but over greens. Instead, I was fooled into ordering a standard salad with tomato, onion, carrots and cucumber over greens. This broke my heart as I wanted something special and received a waste of time. I ordered the 12 oz filet mignon cooked medium plus, this is really why they lost a star. It was a great tender cut of meat that was not prepared properly. I believe they cut it too thick or maybe I should have ordered it butterflied. It was also under seasoned and there was no juice on my plate, which struck me as odd. It was completely rare in the middle and was unpalatable. I ate 75% of it and had to cut around the raw meat. For a side we shared the lobster man n cheese. This could stand as an entree by itself. It was a standard mac n cheese, what you would expect from any high end steakhouse. What made it divine, it was loaded, absolutely full of delish lobster meat. For the price this was a pleasant surprise. For two people our tab was only $150, although we weren't drinking alcohol it was still lower than what we were expecting to pay. I still love you La Bonne Vie, but I had to warn my fellow yelpers about making sure to butterfly those 12 oz filet's if we don't like them rare. Also, the misleading salad issue as there are two L.B.V. salads on the menu. I will be back again, hope to see you soon. read more

Very disappointed, I had the $45 Seabass and it was bad! Super small square portion like you get from a frozen food freezer at your local store. Paying an extra $7 for a unfresh tasteless salad was also disappointing. Save your money and go to one of the other restaurants located in the casino. There water they provide is also warm, no ice. The ambience of this steak house is refined. Dress code would be casual as it is in the mountaineer casino. The wife and I have been here several time alway enjoying our meals. Last night I had Patagonian toothfish or what everyone here in America call Chilean Seabass even though it is in the Cod family. I regress sorry. Just ate there this past Saturday, August 18th, 2012. Was at Mountaineer for a boxing match at the Harv, and we decided to dine here beforehand. The previous review, I want to make sure is clear, that ALL of their meat cuts are extra thick, so if you want a steak done medium or darker, have it butterflied, certainly. It was a mistake on your server's part not to suggest it, rather than the restaurant itself (which serves tender, and delicious steaks). Upon entry (4:30 p.m.) was my biggest, and only complaint of the restaurant, as at the hostess stand, four of us dressed in business casual at worst, and in plain view of empty tables, were told the only available options were in the lobby seating area. Once seated, we had a very friendly server, who reminded me of a dark haired Kendra Wilkinson. I ordered a Beefsteak Tomato Salad, A filet, and garlic mashed potatoes. The bread that came out after ordering is worth bragging about alone. Not only was the Italian fresh and warm, but there were what I can only describe as raisin Melba toast, and jalapeno corn muffins included, which were just FABULOUS... that pats of butter they brought out could have sat at room temperature for about an hour beforehand, as it wouldn't spread and smashed the corn muffin to pieces. The menu is slightly different than the one online. The other lady in my party and I both had the tomato salads, where the gentlemen both had field green salads with goats cheese, candied pecans, and apples... we were jealous! Though our salads were good, the price tags were the same, and the guys got WAY MORE food. My steak was beautiful. I ate about 2/3 and boxed the rest, but not because it wasn't lovely. It was cut with a butter knife with no snags. We all ordered sides and split, as the portions were quite big. The lobster mac and cheese was the best, almost sweet, tasted like it was made with heavy cream and nutmeg. The asparagus with hollandaise was second best. My personal choice, garlic mashed potatoes, were disappointing in texture rather than taste. I felt as if my own mashed potatoes were better, and I don't charge $12 for a plate. Overall, however, the meal was fantastic. I would definitely eat there again. I would just hope that I could get an inside seat and some respect in the future. read more

This was my first visit to LBV, and I was pleased that we had finally found a good restaurant in this area. First, the bread is excellent, and this is always a good sign (4.5 stars). The lobster bisque, while loaded with lobster chunks, was not richly flavored (3.5 stars). The filet mignon was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and was very tender with great flavor. It can easily stand up to what you would get at a premium steakhouse (5 stars). While the meat did not need a sauce, I did try some of their peppercorn sauce, which was fantastic (5 stars). Our sides were mushrooms (3 stars), garlic mash potatoes (3.5 stars), grilled asparagus (4 stars) and truffled potatoes (4 stars). The chocolate cake was rich and decadent as is should be (5 stars). The cost of a meal isn't cheap, but the price-performance is very good. The wine list is decent but not extensive, and the prices aren't unreasonable. The service is excellent.
