8oz filet with sautéed mushrooms. Baked potato is just out of the picture.

You will simply never believe this place is as good as it is. You'll pull into the parking lot and swear you're at the wrong place. But, you're right where you want to be! You really need to call ahead. They aren't built for major dinner traffic but all I worry about is ME! The menu is simple. Steak, chicken ( I think) and tilapia. You're there for the steak. You have a choice of two steaks. Big and massive. The one you see is, I think, their eight ounce ; that's the small one. Get it medium rare. Get the sautéed mushrooms and baked potato. Oh, yeah ... and salad with the house dressing ( balsamic vinaigrette) You won't find a better steak anywhere and I've done steakhouses from San Francisco to Dallas to Denver, D.C., Boston, NYC, and more. Say hi to Richard, the owner and chef. He'll be by to be sure everything is right by you.

Cool, crooner ambiance in the bar.

Another HOME RUN steak by the Maples. Let me just comment on one of the other reviews... Someone criticized the price - $69 for a 16oz steak and $154 for a family of 3... and it "wasn't Downtown"... then criticized the restrooms.. First - let me get the laughter out of the way.. :'-D Let me ask you this: what is your average expense to drive from the south hills to a downtown steakhouse? Average distance, say, 20 Miles (oneway)?... 1) Gas (roundtrip): $15-20 2) Tolls (given you take 43): $5-7 3) Parking: $5-15 4) Burdon of Personal Time - 30-45min each way.. 1.5h total, conservatively, say $50 per couple.. 5) Intangible cost - DUI risk, babysitter, traffic ticket risk, stress of driving for 45min plus... etc Conservative Total: $75-92 per couple per TRIP to the City! NOT EVEN INCLUDING ANYTHING REGARDING DINNER! And you're complaining about the best overall streak dinner in all of the tristate area costing $69 per head (salad and giant baked potato included!)? WOW... you're clearly well thought out... :) Grow up my friend... maybe the illusion to you of eating in "the city" is this amazing thing and well worth that cost... but take it from someone who has lived years in each of New York City, Chicago, Miami, Boston, Hartford, and Providence... You are not going tonight find a better "Good Old Boys" steakhouse anywhere.. The fact that there are only 3-5 things on the menu is a GOOD THING! That = quality and consistency... (get your redneck out of your b-hole)... and as far as the restrooms - what, are you going to do? shit? shave? shower? OR to have an effin STEAK?? Priorities my friend! If you don't want it to BE THE VALLEY anymore? Then STOP MAKING IT THE VALLEY... go somewhere else to eat shitty fried food and garbage over-cooked skirt steak for cents on the dollar... Trust me, you are not wanted at the Maples anyway!

Simply put...out of this world. Started with the crab stuffed mushrooms...all crab and no filler. Next the mixed green salad with ranch...mmmm. Then on to the meat! My strip steak was cooked to perfection and was juicy and delicious...no salt or sauce necessary. My wife got the filet and have never seen a more perfectly cooked filet. Forget wasting your time going to Morton's or Ruth's Chris...make your next steak the maples and be prepared to be amazed!

Absolutely without a doubt the best steak I've ever eaten!!!! No Bullsh_t ... the best.... A 16oz filet with a must order side of sautéed mushrooms.. Old school vibe and decor, but a must try. Rich.. the chef and owner is a great person and delivers a steak experience like no other... When in the Mon Valley area do yourself a solid and stop in.

    16oz Filet. Absolutely amazing

The Maples in Charleroi PA is by far my favorite restaurant. The staff are the nicest people you could ever ask for. They make you feel like family and that to me means just as much as having amazing food. The quality of the food at The Maples is top notch. The crab stuffed mushrooms have the most amazing taste and I still can not find any other restaurant to compare. The jumbo shrimp were so fresh it felt as if they were right from the ocean to my plate. The filet by far is the best steak you will ever have in your life. I have been to The Capital Grill, Morton's, Ruth Chris, The Georgetown, and numerous other places. None can come close to comparing to the perfectly cooked, seasoned and flavor of the Filet at The Maples. I drive over and hour each month just for this experience and it is completely worth it. The Maples is a small family owned business with a giant heart. If you want amazing food at a great price then the drive is completely worth it. Very highly recommended.

This is an old school, throwback steakhouse. The steaks are huge, and the drinks are stiff! We tried this place on a recommendation and we were not disappointed! Depending where your from,it's a little out of the way,but so worth the drive! We had the crab appetizer, filet and ny strip, salad, baked potato, and lemon cake. All get 5 stars. Servers were professional and attentive. The chef came by the table as well. If your looking for a steakhouse, the maples can go toe to toe with the best of them..

Fresh lump crab meat. So good!

Step back in time, here in this small town of Charleroi. I kid you not when I say it was one of the best steaks I have eaten. The owners, Mr and Mrs Umble took care of us the entire night. Great service, love the odd vintage ambiance... And really, the food is top notch. You pay for what you get. Love love love!

This was the most delicious meal i have ever had!! The steak melts in your mouth!!!

Best filet mignon I have ever eaten anywhere. It's perfect every single time and it comes out on a sizzling plate with butter sauce. Oh my.

The side of sautéed mushrooms is a must - they're so buttery and rich; the perfect side to the steak.

There is a small parking lot on the side of the building but there is also a lot of street parking available. It was pretty crowded but we were seated quickly. There was booth and table seating and the way the booths are set up they felt fairly private. There were also high top tables. It was pretty loud (which would be expected when it was as crowded as it was). The menu is pretty extensive with a wide variety of choices. Everything from chicken fingers to steaks. They were out of several things the night we were there. As I mentioned, it was busy, but it was still early enough that I wouldn't have anticipated it would have been an issue. So we had to pivot and make changes to what was ordered. My daughter had a steak and she thought it was delicious. It was tender and cooked well. Service was slow and spotty. Again, they were busy, but we had to ask several times for things like water refills. And our server took part of the order wrong, so one of the entrees came out wrong. Because of how long everything took to get, we just took it as is. There were no apologies, just "we're really busy" (yes, I know that). Overall, we had an enjoyable meal and will likely be back. Hopefully on a quieter night.

Bottomline: We like Campys. Here's why:…read more First, their calzones are huuuuuuuge! They nearly fill up an entire pizza box! On Mondays, it's $2 off per calzone. We've had the steak, and the Italian. Both had plenty of meat. Some of us liked they steak more; I liked the Italian better (to me the steak needed a little more flavor). But the Italian is messier; there's a ton of grease due to the meat and it coming right out of the oven. My recommendation: put it in the fridge for the next day. You can heat it up in the microwave and it's easier/less messy to eat. Their pizza is actually pretty good. They are not stingy when it comes to toppings, plus they are one of the few places in the area that have green olives (yum). In the past (a long time ago), they screwed up our order and gave us black olives (yuck) but it's been awhile since that's happened. Sometimes the pizza is a little undercooked, but I think it's the cheese that makes it so tasty. The cheese seems to be much creamier than other places. Finally, someone said there are 50% off pizza coupons out there maybe in one of those coupon books; if you find one, it's definitely well worth it. We've also had their gyros. The good: they're also huge, they have thick slices of meat, and on Wednesdays they are only $4.99. The OK: sauce is Ok, as are the veggies. The what-could-be-better: the bread. I think the reason why they are so huge is because the bread appears to be a pizza shell folded in half. For us, the bread was just too doughy. In addition, it's probably better to eat these at the restaurant (they do have tables inside) as the heat wilted the lettuce on the ride home. Don't forget the beer! They have 6-packs and single cans on sale just in case you want to grab one with your meal. And anyplace that has single servings of Helltown Brewery beer is OK by me. Sometimes they have "table specials" (they'll put a couple cans out on one of the tables - 2/$1). They also have wine by the bottle, or little singles as well. I'm not sure what others are complaining about the service either. Maybe things have improved since last year. Every time they told me how long it would take to prepare my order, it was done right on time. I've never had to wait. Finally, kudos to the young man who served us on all our recent orders. He was wearing a mask every single time.
