Stopped by for coffee on my way back to Houston. Very personable and kind staff. Inside was busy but quiet- lots of people studying for having meetings. Iced coffee with milk and flavor shot plus a slice of banana bread was $7 even. One of the employees warmed the banana bread on the panini press for me which I thought was nice. Came here before 9am on a Saturday morning and was greeted by some nice Aussies. I ordered the magic man with almond milk, which I've read is essentially a cortado. The drink came out quick and was followed up by their toasted banana bread. The espresso was smooth and the atmosphere is minimalistic, but not barron. I have been stopping in on my way to work each morning and this is the best coffee I've found in Dallas. Easy parking out front, quick and friendly service (even though it's quick, it still has that neighborhood feel where they remember your name, ask you how you're doing, and genuinely care to listen to the answer). Legit, strong coffee that's hand delivered with a "thanks for stopping in" to support the local shop. Vibe inside is minimalist and clean. My family was in Dallas for the weekend and my mom and I came in two days in a row. Will probably be back tomorrow too before we leave. This is the best espresso drink (magic man) we have had in a while. We were traveling in Italy for 2.5 weeks and we liked LDU's magic man better than Italy's cappuccinos! Not only are the drinks delicious, the staff is super nice and very helpful with offering information about their drinks. They come and give you a cup of water while you are sitting there. Absolutely great all around! Adam and Mark are both top-class, friendly guys. Their coffee is outstanding, service is top notch and shop is incredibly inviting with good seating, interesting reading and the rest of their stellar crew. I like to think I know espresso and they serve a terrific one! I'm also a bit enamored with their Pumpky Brewster sandwich- great name and a taste that lives up to it! Not my favorite shop in the area but LDU is solid, friendly, fast, and tasty. Solid espresso and a wide variety of food options offer something for whatever you need. The Apple Store like decor is comfortable, though the lack out of outlets is a bit disappointing. The staff is both attentive, friendly, and has always gone the extra mile for me. Parking is also easier than many spots, with street parking, spots for a quick dip in up front, and the parking garage for a longer stay. read more

I've been coming to LDU since about when they opened. The first day I came to the shop, the owners, Mark and Adam, made sure to know my name as I had stated I just moved within walking distance of the shop. Since then, I've been religiously coming into the shop to grab a quick cup before work or setting up shop to do a bit of work. Either way, the guys have really got to know me, remember my order depending on the weather outside, and even call me by my nickname. I love how personal they are with everyone and never miss a beat to tell a joke or teach me something about their home country. I have recently tried their pressed sandwiches and have been beating myself up that I haven't tried them before! My favorite is the Maverick, Adam told me it was everything they loved about Texas, in a sandwich. I could write all day about how much I love this shop and the people. read more
