I went to LDV with a good friend and we were there on a Sunday. We sat in the corner and we're greeted and welcomed by all who was on staff. Liza took care of us. Told us the story about the winery and made some incredible suggestions for wine to have. We also partook in some of the charcuterie they had. It was incredible!!! The boards were so cute and delicious, I could've had 3. We had a white and a red. The white had notes of pineapple and and was very bright and delicious. The red was a petite Syrah and Liza brought over some chocolate that was a truly perfect pairing. They had a solid pop of people show up and the time we were there, and I never once felt neglected. All grapes Arizona growers pi wn in cochise country working together with pillsbury and pierce a highly impressive AZ wine. 20 years old named after there parents both mum and dad served as u will see in the pictures. We visited recently and this was our first stop. At first I was a little hesitant to try the light flight, but after tasting the Reds..OMG, their wines blew us away!! We immediately tried the light flight and were totally shocked how good they were! Before we left, we signed up for their wine club. I love Sonoma wines, but the wines at LVD are just as good, if not better than some of the Sonoma wines!! Loved the wines, so by signing up for the club, we will be sure to have them year round. Stopped by for a tasting and the service and wine were both impeccable. We asked to sit outside, which was comfortable due to the misters even on a 100 degree day. We have tried their wine before, so our server let us taste her favorite wine (the 2016 syrah) for free. Went there for wine tasting after having dinner in Old Town Scottsdale. Friday night about 8:30 p.m. Not too busy. There were three of us in our party. There were 3 flights available so all of us chose a different flight to sample. The lady pouring the flights (I never know what to call people in this industry) was very knowledgeable about the wines the vineyard had available as well as the grapes that were used in each one. Enjoyed all the wines tasted and bought two to take home with us to enjoy at a later time. Had been there before a few months ago not for tasting but to enjoy a glass of wine after dinner. Newer tasting room in Old Town, taking place of the old take out spot for Herb Box. I didnt have high expectations for the wine, but it was quite tasty and reasonably priced. We split a bottle for $28 and enjoyed relaxing in the loungey area inside. Unfortunately all outside tables we were taken, but they do have a decent patio to soak up the rays while sipping on chardonnays. They have a food menu, but it is super limited. Don't come hungry. Certainly a good spot to switch up from our usual watering holes and felt good to support a local business. read more

We were in Scottsdale for a golf retirement bash for my brother-in-law and I decided to schedule the Le Nez du Vin "aroma therapy" experience for our group, since they had never experienced this part of wine education. Owner Peggy was very accommodating and a gracious hostess for the experience. The tasting room is very nice, with a lot of seating inside and out. 1) As mentioned, Peggy was great. However, when wine tasting, and especially when hosting an "aroma therapy" experience, one should not wear perfume that would affect the nose. I sat next to her at the table and all I could smell was her perfume. 2) During the experience, there was one gnat and one fly constantly buzzing around, and that in itself was annoying. The experience included a charcuterie plate, so we had paper plates out for our use. My brother-in-law took it upon himself to dispose of the gnat, slapping it onto the edge of my paper plate. There it sat, with no attempt by our hostesses to dispose of it. Fine, I can live with that and I just won't use the plate. Then, he decides to dispose of the fly in the same manner and the dead fly lands just off the same paper plate. Again, no attempt to remove either of the bugs or to replace my plate. I ended up just turning my plate over so we wouldn't have to look at the two dead bugs. I was VERY disappointed with this. 3) During the presentation, I was called, probably jokingly, a wine snob. Fine, I brushed it off as a joke, but a customer should never be called this, even jokingly. 4) Peggy told us to help ourselves to the charcuterie board during the tasting. Thank you, but my "wine snob" palate wants to taste the wines without having food affect it. 5) The experience included a flight of five wines, a white, a rosé, and three reds. The Viognier had a nose that i never had in a Viognier before. I'm expecting floral and tropical fruit; I got some citrus and an odd, almost plastic or lanolin nose which is also where it landed on my palate; maybe it was corked or my glass not clean? The Grenache Rosé was better, although I'm not a Rosé fan. It was light and bright, good for a summer day. I don't recall what the first red was, maybe a Grenache? The Syrah was not similar to any Syrah I've had before. The nose was more of prunes, with zero black pepper, which I've come to expect from Syrah, no matter where it's from. On the palate, it was more like a Merlot. The Petite Sirah was the best of the lot. Dark in color, it was fruit-forward, but not as big as others that I have had. 6) At the conclusion of tasting, you are normally asked if you would like to revisit any of the wines, or are offered to try other wines on their menu. None of that happened. I think Peggy may have tried to get us another pour at one point, but it never happened. We ended up just buying a bottle of the Petite Sirah to share at the table. I guess it was an effective marketing tactic. I always like hearing about the history of a winery and the vineyards, and the winemaking process itself, so that was enjoyable. read more

We went as a party for four for wine tasting, was told we had to each choose one wine to make a four wine flight. The somm explained that she was alone and had to wash all of the dishes by hand herself. It was very bizarre and confusing, we were not allowed to each have a flight of wine, the red head said, "there would be to many glasses of wine on the table. You have to share a flight." She gave us that explanation in about 20 sentences. Eventually we were allowed to get a flight each. We sat by the wall in the outside patio area however we quickly changed as they were ants all over the wall. Some of the wines were OK, no winners. This is one of the better wineries in Scottsdale, AZ. They have really nice wines (more reds than whites) and since I'm a fan of red wine it was a hit. However, their white wine (2015 Sky Island Viognier) was probably one of the best white wines I've had in a very long time. I'd recommend stopping by if you're in the area. Very friendly staff as well, and they have cheese and snacks if you want that with the experience of wine tasting. read more

We discovered LDV while tasting at a wine festival earlier this year. We decided to only taste petite sirah at the festival and LDV was by far our favorite. When we made our way back to Scottsdale, we knew we needed to stop in and do some tasting. So glad we did! We absolutely loved their location. The tasting room is quaint and inviting and we really loved the patio area. It's the perfect place to sit back, listen to some jazz, and sip on a glass of wine. In addition, they offer a few petite sirahs and all are exceptional...so much so that we knew we had to join their wine club. Wonderful winery with great service. Came here when we were in town for a bachelorette party. I was able to easily make an appointment for the large group of women with a very nice hostess. When we arrived, we sat outside on their front patio which was beautifully covered by the trees out front. The wine tasting was delicious and the service was frequent but not overbearing. It was a quiet week day at the winery so that may have contributed to the relaxed, very comfortable vibe. It was also very nice they were able to accommodate us bringing in food. Being huge into wine - grew up in Napa/Sonoma and living in AZ now, I was looking for the perfect winery that had good wine and good people. I find this place very cozy, the staff and owners are amazing and great people. The wine is excellent! Who would have known that a little winery in AZ could rival some of my favorites in California.
