Giovanni (or Gio for short) was a cute and wonderful host, explaining the various items on our tasting board--cleverly shaped like the state of Arizona, of course--as well as the various things he was serving my mom. Mom is by no means a wine connoisseur, and she definitely prefers the sweet wines over the dry ones. But she managed to find some things that she didn't mind during our stay. For me, the delicious cheese and salami was wonderful and while I didn't love the NA Aperol Spritz, I appreciated the opportunity to try it.

The wines themselves weren't very impressive to me, especially the reds. They lacked depth and complexity and came across a bit flat compared to other spots on the trail. Always a fan of a casual spot. Service (4/5): Good service overall. Our waitress told us a little bit about each wine and let us stay a bit after they closed. Food (N/A): We were on a liquid diet. To be honest, I'm not even sure if they serve food. Drinks (4/5): We went with a flight (mix of red and white). That's my go-to at wineries because it's a nice way to try a variety of wines. Los Milics also participates in the Scottsdale Wine Trail along with five other wineries in Old Town. You can purchase a passport from one of the six participants for $5 and then you get a discount at each spot. After redeeming it, you get a stamp in your passport. Two down, four to go!

I browsed their selection, placed an order, and got an Uber out. The shop is pretty small, but exceptionally well curated. They have a pretty wide selection of wines from a variety of countries and having surveyed many other shops in the area, I can say unequivocally that Atlas has the best selection hands down. It's worth the 20 minute drive out from downtown Phoenix to visit this shop and as others have mentioned, plan to have dinner next door at the Bistro. It's BYO, reasonable corkage fee ($25/750ml), and the food is exceptional. Without a doubt the best meal we had in the area.

I love that I get a written description of the cheese, the dairy, and things to pair it with. The wines have also been delicious. I so enjoy getting a written description of the winery, types of grapes used, tasting notes, and things to pair with the wine. I just went back today to get three more bottles of a french sparkling wine (that was in the wine club offering) that was so good I had to have more. Of course, while I was there I had to purchase some gorgeous bakery items. Every time I go, I ask for recommendations and I have been so happy with all the wines I have tried. What I like best is that I am trying new grape varieties, wines from regions I'm not familiar with, and wines from boutique vineyards.
