What a little gem! The wagyu carpaccio was our favorite, so fresh and tasty. The duck confit pasta is on the heavier side, but so delicious, perfect to share! Charming ambiance, great service.

We LOVED our experience at Le Carré- the service was spectacular and the food was equally amazing. Although it is attached to the hotel next door, it feels much nicer than a "hotel restaurant" and the selection is great. It's dimly lit and intimate- there are only about 10 tables in the restaurant which was clearly a benefit with the attentive service we received. We started off with the Espresso Martini which was incredible (chocolatey and very espresso focused) and the Old Fashioned (perfectly balanced and not too sweet- I think the best I've ever tried). I couldn't recommend either more. For food we had the Tuna Tartar as an appetizer which was delicious with the perfect amount of kick from the jalapeños. For our entrees we had the duck confit pasta and the gnocchi- both were ideal portions and extremely delicious. I've already recommended the restaurant to my friends in the area and plan on returning the next time I'm in Montreal!

Cosy and chic place for a little girls' night out. When the place is almost full, it does get quite noisy though. Dishes are lovely and service is friendly. There's the hotel lobby attached to the restaurant. Definitely worth a visit!

The Long Version: My husband and I were chilling in our hotel when my husband had a hankering for some shawarma. He didn't want to go too far, and I encouraged him to try a new-to-us place, lol. So a quick search led him to Shawarmaz. Shawarmaz is a Canadian company that started 2013 in Montreal. It has several locations but they are all in the Greater Montreal Area. My husband got the beef shawarma in a pita $9.79. They have the option of getting your shawarma in Saj bread or a baguette and those options are more expensive. He got lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, turnips and onions. For his sauces he got hummus, spicy garlic and chipotle. He enjoyed the shawarma. I had a bite so I could review it (I also went with him so I could see the restaurant and take pictures) haha. I thought it was pretty good. They give you a decent amount of protein. And the beef was flavourful and not gristly. I was surprised that the wrap was not too spicy considering the sauces he chose. The decor is fast food restaurant-like. Service was good but it did take a while for the food, although it's likely because there was a pretty long line up. Review #205 (2025)

We were confidently assured the food was completely nut-free and that extra care would be taken. However, this was not the case. My friend always tests her food first, and after a single bite, she suffered an allergic reaction. When we alerted the staff to this issue, their response was shocking. Instead of checking if she was okay, they immediately became defensive and accusatory, asking "Why do you not want to pay?". We were insulted, accused of lying, and confronted by a staff member who aggressively argued it wasn't their fault. We ultimately had to pay the bill in full for food we could not and did not eat, just so we could leave. I am shocked by such poor and defensive service. To be made to feel at fault after such a frightening and vulnerable event is completely unacceptable. To prioritize a bill over a customer's life and deny a mistake when there was an active allergic reaction is appalling and dangerous. If you have food allergies, please avoid this establishment for your own safety.

I do recommend making a reservation on open table prior to coming. Here is what I think of the food: Seasoning is generally saltier but not too overly. Escargot or the snails is yummy. It comes with the option of cheese on top. Dressed heavy with olive oil and garlic. They remove the shell so it makes it approachable if you were nervous about trying. Cheese & Charcuterie board is as what you imagined. It can't go wrong. Rack of Lamb was good. I do recommend highly. It comes with our 4-5 bones worth of protein with potatoes & veggies. Lost track of how many bones because it was eaten so fast. Duck confit was average. Let me explain, duck was average but the amount of spinach I gotten and how potatoes on the plate was good. Sides out shine the protein here. Side of Foie Gras was perfect because I was worried about having too much food. It did come on a small plate because it's a side dish and it was fatty and salty. Intermission was the best cocktail of the night. Fruity with a star anise on top so you smell it while drinking it because it was so close to your nose. Jazz District was okay. Overall, I do think this restaurant site fairly between 4&5 stars. Do try it. I would come back for special occasions and it's not an every night meal.

The owner and his staff of welcoming and friendly and are there to explain the menu and even gave us some sample to try. First dish was the hummus. It reminded me when I was back touring the Middle East. The hummus was so fresh and you can taste the ingredients with a hint of lemon juice. It was so good we order another one. Second dish Muhuhammara This is a dish with garlic, pepper, walnuts and outlive oil. This was a hit. I could not believe how good it tasted and how fresh it tatsted Third Roasted cauliflower This is one of my favorite things to eat and they did it perfectly. Roasted and seasoned just the way I like it. They put a touch of tahini on top. I would of gotten more but they sold out. 4th dish Grilled chicken in lemon Usually the chicken is dry. Not here it was supper moist and the Lemmon sauce was right on point. Not to overpowering. It blended well with all the spicies. This is a must try if you like Mediterranean food. not only is the food amazing the staff go out of the way to make you feel welcome
