Oh, le Corylus...I am so glad I found you. I had never been to Isles aux Coudes (will be back!) and was thrilled to find this charming restaurant with the most hospitable service here on the island.
The views are spectacular as is the ambience. I started with a gin cocktail made with juneberry, or amélanchier, native to the area. It was fresh and delicious.
We split an order of Salade de Charlevoix, which was a fresh salad of greens, spirulina and other vegetables, quail egg, delicious cold cuts similar to saucisson sec and cheese dressed with a fresh juneberry vinaigrette.
We also split the pizza aux fruits de mer (pétoncle et crevette), which is a rich and divine pizza made with scallops and shrimp, a ton of cheese and a white wine sauce. It was heavenly and oh-so-rich.
For dessert, we had to get a local pastry shop slice of the tarte à l'amélanchier. It was good, but not as good as the rest of the meal.
I love that all the items offered for drinks and food are mainly locally-sourced, including the wonderful concoctions from Vergers Pedneault.
Please take the ferry from Baie-Saint-Paul and visit this charming island and visit. You will not be disappointed. read more
