I went in first thing this morning. The manager asked me right away if I needed any help finding…read moreanything I said I was looking for a blouse and will see if anything stands out. She told me that the cloths on the wall are all $9.95 and the price of the others. I immediately found something that stood out and was the perfect size. And it was on the $9.95 wall. Sounds like a perfect experience. Not! When I went up to the counter I told her I found something that stood out. She said that is great! In such a fake voice. There was a young employee there and as the manager was processing the transaction, she was talking down to her and telling her what to do as she was supposed to know. I could see that the girl was embarrassed and I felt bad for her. This made me uncomfortable. What I would like to say to this manager, is micromanaging does not work! Google it! This young girl would make a better manager as maybe she already has more experience on how to treat people. I will most likely never go there again because of this experience. She was rude, fake and something I never want to encounter again. To the girl that was working there: I hope you find a job where you are respected honey! All the best to you!

Maurice's is a fantastic store to get trendy (but will also last through the various crazy fashions…read moreand won't look outdated) casual, business casual, and special event attire. I love this location because I feel they always have a size run in the newest styles, whereas other locations may be sold out of an item - and similar items - in a particular size. Anytime I'm in the mood for a new outfit for work, every day, or vacation, I head to Maurice's. They also have cute jewelry and shoes. Catch them at the right time and they have amazing clearance sales! I often have a difficult time envisioning outfits, and Maurice's does a superb job with their mannequins and displays. I usually end up purchasing the outfit/items on display and sometimes right off the mannequin. The sales associates, particularly at this location, are very friendly and helpful; I like how they offer suggestions once they see what you are looking for, and if you aren't having any luck in the fitting room. If you are just browsing, they are not pushy - which I really appreciate! This store is, on average, pricey than Kohl's. However, the items are of better quality and are targeted to being a more "timeless" fashion rather than what's hot right now. I have gotten *so* many compliments on my work outfits that I purchased from this store; and even after years of wash and wear, they still look great. If you can't tell, I'm definitely a fan!

Many times this place has come through on the order. In the…read morelast year I've had excellent customer satisfaction with this place. Last Friday a special order was placed with a Monday (next business day) assured item being ready for will call. Come Monday I drive 25miles across town, which is also the exact opposite direction my job is located. So actually a 50mile round trip added to the 40mile trip I was going initially. I receive a report that the trip was wasted. Why? Because the guy who took my order and payment wrote MINNEAPOLIS as the destining for pickup. So I'm assured it will be redirected back to Madison Wisconsin. Tuesday. I didn't drive to the place on Tuesday, I made a phone call. My wire is now in Milwaukee still, I was informed that instead of the wire being sent all the way, they would reissue the order FROM Milwaukee and send it west, 70miles right Madison. But someone again messed up. Wednesday? Sure. Nope. It still wasn't here yesterday. At least not in the morning. So another wasted day. Finally it's Thursday and my wire is in my hands. Not a word of apology or any kind of acknowledgment that it took literally a full week. I'll of course allow myself to get over this irritation but it really does feel like I am a nothing of a customer. There are four other electrical suppliers on Madison's east side that have been doing business with, and one I only very recently became aware of on my western side of the city is gay I'll very likely establishing a business relationship with in the future.

This antique mall is a collection of consignment cubbies where you'll find everything from old…read morebooks and piano music to clothes, jewelry and toys. There may be hidden gems here, but I suspect the locals have the inside scoop, and why not? The A/C was set high, so it wasn't a cool refuge from the heat. It was a bit muggy, and not well lighted. The employee working there was friendly. Three stars as it's an okay place to wander through but only if you have time to spare.

The building is a former Odd Fellows lodge and the first floor was used as an opera hall. There was a lot more merchandise than just chairs in the store, but for some reason it struck me what a wide variety of chairs they did have: mission chairs, diner chairs, ice cream parlor chairs, rocking chairs, period chairs, desk chairs, industrial chairs and even an Egyptian chair! The store had a room off the entry with some tourism information available to take away. No chairs in there.

I did find a nice over the door hook piece at only $2. Well worth checking out if you are in the area. Plus it is always nice to support a good cause like the Humane Society.

Still shooting my Hoyt Vectrix that I bought her years ago and I can still punch through deer out to 40 yards (my limit). I have been stopping into Little Jon's Archery since 2013, so this is a review on my culmination of…read morevisits. In 2013, I decided that it was time to upgrade my bow. I had been shooting an old Mathews that I had been using for about 10+ years. Knowing that I was going to need a bow that had a longer draw length (I am 6'5") I did some research before I arrived. The staff is knowledgeable at Little Jon's but I think it's really a good idea to look at what they carry and do some research before you go in to pick a bow and shoot them. I was between a Mathews and a Bowtech. I ended up going with a Bowtech Experience. The owner was very helpful with assisting me select a bow and answered any questions I had. I was unsure on what brands and types of accessories I wanted. Although I had a general idea of what I wanted, I didn't have anything set in stone. The team was very helpful with selecting a sight (5-pin), arrow rest and arrows. I picked out my quiver and stabilizer without any assistance. When my bow was put together it was paper tuned to select the best arrow for the bow. Coincidentally the arrow that was the best was also one of the most expensive, Gold Tip. If I had to do it again, I would go with less expensive arrows. Since I am not going out West and attempting 70 yard shots, I believe that a less-expensive (not cheap though) arrow would work just fine on whitetail and turkey at 20-50 yards. This is the set-up I ended up going with: Bowtech Experience, AXT Headhunter 5-pin sight, Trophy Taker Smackdown drop away arrow rest, Trophy Ridge Stabilizer, Fuse quiver, Gold Tip arrows and Dirt Nap Gear D.R.T broadheads (not sold in their store). All together my set up was around $1,500 for everything. I have been back with my bow several times and the staff are always willing to help out and answer questions, but sometimes it takes a while to get help. On a couple of occasions I have waited 30 min to an hour to be helped. But that's if you are going during the busy time of the year (also those that help you in the store are most of the times the ones working on bows) Little Jon's also has an outdoor range that I have used as well as video archery. If you are looking for some very personal help and years of experience (owner) you should go to Little Jon's. I got tired of being helped at the big box stores by employees that knew less than I did. Check them out!
