We had the most wonderful dinner with our friends on Friday evening at Le Deauville. We were welcome by Marc and his daughter Camille who had prepared a very nice quiet table. The service was excellent, the special dishes were delicious including "magret de Canard" (duck breast) and Fish of the day (red snapper), the wines were matching perfectly. Thank you to all team. It was also great to see our favorite Karrah.

Recently visited Le Deauville with a group and was very surprised at how packed it was for a Tuesday! Luckily we had made a reservation and were able to be seated upon arrival. True to its name the restaurant has a very cozy "French" feel to it with lots of wood accents and dim ambient lighting. However the tables are so close together it was so loud- it made it difficult for me to hear my friends as well as the waiter. The service was....European as well. When we were seated we were presented with a drink menu, but had to later flag down a waiter to be given menus for food. I understand that the place was busy, so I'm sure that played a big part in the inattentiveness of the staff throughout the evening- who were all very nice. The wait time for everything aside- the food was GREAT. I ordered the salmon entree and it was absolutely delicious. Le Deauville is a great date night spot or for a special evening! I would just be prepared to wait.

Came back last night for All You Can Eat Mussels and drinks. The service was impeccable, and Uriah's attention to us was extra special. I'll keep coming back because the quality of food and service I receive is beyond excellent.

Le Deauville is a restaurant that we frequent on special occasions. There is great communication via text messages, making it extremely easy to make reservations! The atmosphere is busy, romantic, downtown big city feel, hole in the wall! If you're wanting somewhere quiet, it's hard to get that here because it's quite small. What keeps us going back is the food and SUPERB service! If you like duck, they have the best in town! Feel free to order an extra piece with your entree. One serving of the escargot is not enough so be prepared to order two! For an extra delight, that I learned from a French neighbor years ago, dip a piece of your baguette into red wine and enjoy it with your escargot!! Thank me later! One of the cons of this restaurant is the waiting area. It's right inside the doorway and you're likely going to disturb the diners around you. Not because of talking, but you may just have your behind stuck in their back! Another con is the very tiny table right beside the kitchen. There's a lot of traffic here and you can't get much food on the table. Perfect for one diner, but horrible for two. The best compliment I can give is that the staff works very hard to please and there is never a problem with the food!

This past Friday, my friends and I went to Le Deauville for dinner (without any reservations). For one of my friends and I, it was our second time at this place, and the reason we came back again was because we had a great time the first time (like we had thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience here). Both of my friends drove from Louisville. By the time they arrived in Lexington, both were hungry. We ordered several cocktail drinks, appetizers, and entrees. The service was slower this time, and the dinner took us almost 3 hours. The restaurant was not entirely busy, but our server was gone for a long time, and we didn't see her for a while. I used to be in the food industry, and I usually understood what was happening behind the scenes in the kitchen or in the restaurant, but it was not okay when we were left unattended for a good time. (Our drinks were long gone, and we wanted to order more drinks that night). One of my friends almost left the table because it took a long time to get our drinks or food, and he was not having it that night. I got my friend to sit still and wait for our food because leaving was still rude. Besides the slow service, the restaurant's ambiance is intimate and has a romantic setting. I recommend this place for dates and for trying delicious French cuisine with robust and delightful cocktail drink options. I guess, from my first experience and this recent one, we will have to return much later to try this place again. I would still recommend this place to people, have extra patience when you come here as a guest :)

We had dinner Friday night after University of Kentucky graduation. We had 9 people and had a wonderful meal and great service. The duck, New York strip and Salmon were what most ordered!! Each of these meals was fantastic!! The owner also had a cake ordered from Martine's Bakery and it is the best cake in Lexington!(Pistachio with buttercream and Macrons on top!) Our wine choices were delicious and reasonable! Service was top notch. Reservations are a must! Take your time and enjoy a slice of France in Kentucky!

The cheese plate was amazing, loved the oysters and French onion soup! The chicken was good, but wish I would've ordered the pasta special with spicy vodka sauce and Brussels sprouts, the filet mignon was excellent, but the star of the dish was the potato au gratin! I forgot to take a picture of the creme brûlée and the chocolate mousse both were Devine! Our server was attentive and the ambiance was reminiscent of a small French restaurant. Definitely will be a returning customer!

I have dined at Le Deauville a few times primarily because of its proximity to my work hotel but also because the food is consistently good. Something was off tonight, and I hope it's a blip, but I'll be hard pressed to return. I don't mind spending money and tipping well on an occasional "experience." However, this is what I received as my dessert mousse to-go. Maybe a kitchen response to my wait staff comment that my filet was cooked a little over (but still delicious) to my liking? I don't know. But after dropping not a small amount of money on a meal and gratuity, I wasn't happy to open this parcel in my hotel.

    Wine! Yum!

As to details...menu varies, which I like. There are always some higher end options (steaks, duck, and such), which are always exceptional, but I truly love the every burger option I've tried...cooked beautifully, seasoned masterfully, cannot go wrong. Drinks are fantastic, and you can get a liquor for any taste (I admittedly gravitate towards bourbon drinks, and there are some damn fine ones here, but the skill of the bartenders compels me to branch out when I'm here). It's not a huge space. Some weeknights, you can get in easily. Weekends, maybe not so much. Reservations are never a bad idea (even if just via OpenTable). Service is too notch. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, attentive...other places could learn from the standard set here. All told, it's by no means a cheap spot to go, but it's well worth a visit...or two or three or more.

Unfortunately, the food just didn't live up to what we remembered. The lamb was flavorful, but the chicken Milanese was very disappointing. We decided to give dessert a try and ordered the orange soufflé, hoping to end the meal on a high note. Unfortunately, even that was bland. We were expecting a nice fresh orange flavor, but there really wasn't much orange flavor at all. We really wanted to love this place again, especially because we've had such good experiences here in the past. Sadly, this visit just missed the mark. Madeleine's is not a wine tasting bar but a restaurant with an extensive wine list (for this small town, at least). They have a fairly extensive food menu as well as many unique wines on their list. They also serve beer, if that's your thing. One of the owners seated us and let us know that we could sample any of the wines with which we were unfamiliar before ordering a full glass. Although we had not planned to eat there as it was 3pm, our husbands popped in, so we ended up with an order of meatballs too. We absolutely loved them!
