The doughnuts here are actually very good, I am basing my review off of the glazed doughnuts I've has the jalapeno and sausage kolaches they are very good as well. Le Donut has become my go-to place for morning cheat meals. The service is quick and polite. I've always been able to get in and out in 5 minutes or less, and the servers are always willing to remove the cheese from croissant sandwiches for me without making me feel guilty for making a "special" order. Sometimes they do get backed up in the morning with all the people coming in before work, but the line moves swiftly. First - Those cronuts. Delicious. Too indulgent to buy often, but the few I've had have been a pleasure to eat. Second - Their kolaches are better than Shipley's. And they offer different sizes in case you want the kolache to be the entree for your breakfast or just a snack. Third - Their wide selection of sweet and savory offerings allows me to switch things up when I want. Everything tastes fresh and homemade. Le Donut does not pretend to be a fancy place, which is refreshing in a world of shops that over-promise and under-deliver. They have standard milk/juice/coffee offerings to accompany their food. I strongly recommend this shop to anyone who wants an alternative to routine stops to McDonald's or other chains for quick breakfasts before work. read more

I'm here pretty often. I usually get a jumbo cheese filled sausage kolache with jalapeños and a classic glazed donut. The donut has just the right amount of glaze that I prefer. Only patrons inside this place. Got some coffees, waters and a kolache so My husband and I can sit and fill in some paperwork. Not only did the woman here make us feel like trespassers, and swept all under the table we occupied but they limited the number of times we could use the restroom after drinking 4 bottles of water. We both took turns using it before we sat, afterwards they locked it and told us someone was in there.. there wasn't anyone else besides us. On our way out, my husband went to use it before we hit the road, we were told, "the bathroom is clean and unavailable" Seriously?!? To the only customers inside the place ?!? read more

Love this place. They have really good donuts. They have better donuts than Shipley's. You can eat these cold and the glazing doesn't fall off like the Shipley's donuts. Ladies are really nice. I went around 11:30AM. There was no crowd, which was a thumbs up. The donuts had obviously been made at like 2AM. The cashier was a nice lady who gave me a free donut, I'm sure it was because they would be closing soon and no need to let so many donuts go to waste. The donuts were okay, enough to please my donut craving. The basic glazed was 89¢ plus tax, which is a bit high. This place is awesome. They have great donuts. They were warm and fluffy unlike the failed resurrection of the once legendary Krispy Kreme on Westheimer and Fondren. They also weren't skimpy. The employees were very nice and gave me a nice selection of their donuts when I told them to just give me a dozen of whatever. I am rating Le Donut on a family owned business basis, but it is still comparable to a big chain like Shipleys. Oh and in comparison to Dunkin Donuts? Well Dunkin Donuts is complete ass. read more

Since moving back in 2007, I've been searching for a GOOD donut place. I'm picky and love my donuts. When we moved to the med center, we decided to try Le Donut. Now my boyfriend and I go almost every Saturday and I bring them to work at least once a month. The folks here are really friendly and their donuts are AMAZING. Anyone who needs a legit cake donut (with sprinkles, natch), this is your place. Sorry, Shipley's / Dunkin / everyone else, this is the place. Tried a few things from Le Donut recently for first time and have to say I was impressed. Bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit and chocolate glazed donuts were good but the boudin kolaches were delicious! I even got a few donut holes and a French type of donut thrown in with order so that was a pleasant bonus . Service was pretty speedy and I enjoyed the quality of service as well. Yum. Donuts are my guilty pleasure. I came here this morning because I was in the area. I stopped by because it had been a long time since I had donuts or kolaches. I bought one sour cream glazed donut, a cake donut, and one maple glazed along with two sausage kolaches. You have no idea how excited I was when I saw that they had maple- the last time I had a maple donut was in Austin at Ken's donuts. I was long over due. Anyway, the total came out to b e $4. She warmed up the kolaches for me. Maybe because I've been depriving myself of their greatness, but they were sooo good. I inhaled that sucker. I could've eaten the other one, but I figured it'd be nicer to my figure if I didn't. The dough was soft and chewy in a good way. It was almost like it melted in my mouth. The sausage was juicy and flavorful. On to the donuts. I loved the maple. I also loved the cake donut because it was nice and soft and not too sweet. The sour cream I thought was overly sweet. If I'm in the area again I'll be sure to stop in for more maple and cake donuts and a few kolaches! read more

Excellent donuts, been coming here for years. Shipley's is right down the street, but we never go there anymore - Le Donut is better in every way! Donuts have better texture, not mushy, not too sweet, and better flavor. Our favorites are the apple fritters and the chocolate long johns. As a donut shop this one is really good. The donuts don't taste like they were made from some prepackaged mix. I also had a breakfast taco and was disappointed. The lady pulled out a pre made taco and threw it in the microwave. Bottom line- it's a donut shop. If you go, eat donuts. read more

I love this place! Everything is so good and fresh! The prices are good and cheaper than Shipley's. As a matter of fact when eat a donut from Le Donut you will never want to go back to Shipley's. They have a great menu, they have a lot more to choose from than Shipley's. The employees (the lady and the guy) that are always there are very polite and friendly.
