First time here for a Birthday Dinner. The place looks nice when you walk in. We had a booth reserve for our party but it seemed tight for 6 people. We were then seating in the back near the kitchen and restroom. Seating would have been completely fine if there was so much activity with the door to the outside seating. It was very cold and the gust of wind kept hitting us as the door kept opening. I order the Goffle RD Farm Chicken. It came with roasted vegetables, which by far was my favorite thing that I ate. The chicken was ok, it could have used more flavor. The vegetables were the star of the dish. Another dish that was order by my party was the Creekstone Farm Hanger Steak. The steak was delicious. It came with roasted potatoes that were ok. Lastly another dish was the Spaghetti Alla Carbonara. This dish ended up being very salty so it was sent back. Another dish was offered however it was denied. The waitress was very informative about the food and took the dish off the receipt. Both white and red wine was ordered and well received. I feel that the music playing set more of a sleepy tone throughout dinner. The restrooms are very small and not appealing as the rest of the restaurant. read more

Came here on a Friday night and there was ample seating for 2. Food (4/5) - Pasta was fresh and al dente, sauces are thoroughly salted. Broccolini was sauteed with garlic and sweet chili, which provided a nice kick and balanced out the savoury pasta. Ambiance (5/5) - Cute, cozy, not too crowded for a Friday night. 4++ Was a while since we visited Le Fanfare, but the idea of going Saturday night was exciting, and as the evening progressed memories of past visits came back. Previously I recommended going for the pasta, and that still holds. Their homemade pasta and accompanying sauces - some traditional, like Cacio e Pepe or Carbonara, and some unexpected such as arugula pesto - are delicious; simple and elegant, very close to authentic Italian cuisine. The menu isn't extensive but offers a good variety of dishes no matter what you crave. Their special appetizer Cacio e Pepe arancini was fabulous, as was the gnocchi and fish of the day. The room was full and energetic with conversation but not too loud. Their staff is still very much on point, and committed to making the experience memorable. We sat at the long communal table and enjoyed light pleasant conversation with guests nearby. The ambiance manages to feel rustic but also upscale. Maybe it was the bottle of vermentino, but I think it was the whole experience that had us walking out with a bit of a buzz. Will keep this on our short list. read more

Such a great Italian spot in Greenpoint with a really nice ambiance. There was a live piano player, which made the night feel fun and cozy, and the service was excellent. The staff was super attentive and very accommodating to someone in our group who was dairy free. They double checked with the kitchen and offered great alternatives, which made us feel really taken care of. We did the three courses for thirty five dollars, which is only on Sundays, and it was definitely worth it. I'd recommend getting there before eight so you can enjoy more of the live music. The meatballs and mussels were amazing appetizers, especially the broth with the mussels. The lamb pasta and the dairy free pasta were both really good, and the cannoli was a solid dessert. Le Fanfare is a bit further down and away from the busy intersection of Manhattan Avenue and Greenpoint Avenue but trust me, they are definitely worth a visit. We made a walk-in reservation at Le Fanfare and were seated at the time promised at around 9:15 pm on Sat night. The place was still busy and noise levels were on the average end. Our waiter Carlos Garcia was absolutely wonderful throughout our stay! He was very friendly and interacted a lot with our four year old, who too had a lot of fun and had a lot of stories to share! We got a bottle of the Montepulciano D'Abruzzo ($54) and ordered a few starters which included Burrata ($17), Grilled Octopus ($21), and Roasted Cauliflower ($12) - all of which were really tasty. The Bucatini Di Gragnano ($23) pasta I ordered was probably tasty too! I just had too much wine that night for me to remember exactly how it tasted *smh*. My brother and I went here on a Sunday night. It wasn't super crowded but busy enough. They had a Sunday dinner menu where you chose an appetizer, entree and dessert. We split the apps. We got the mussels and meatballs and separately got the burrata. The meatballs were cooked in a white wine sauce and were different but really good. The mussels were amazing. The red sauce was fantastic. The burrata was delicious and flavorful. I got the Malloreddus with Berkshire Pork Sausage, Marinara, and Pecorino. I have ZERO regrets. My brother got the Tagliatelle with Lamb Ragu' and Pecorino. He definitely enjoyed his meal as well. For dessert we both got the tiramisu and it was light and fluffy. I paired it with a cappuccino. My partner took me here for my birthday dinner and I truly enjoyed this place. I have no idea where he found this place but I am so happy he did. The inside is very cute and can tell that it is definitely for socializing but also great for a first date as well. They have indoor and outdoor seating in the back. It's a pretty big space and they also have side high-top seating for couples or two people. The food came very fast and we ordered food within courses and shared the meals. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive to us. The dishes were big enough to share and were so delicious. I was so excited that they had a lamb pasta dish since lamb is one of my favorite meats. The dish was so delicious and the lamb was well cooked and shredded. We also had steak for our main entree. I didn't take a picture of the menu but I did realize the menu online was slightly different than the one we had that night. Lastly, I enjoyed my drink. I really wanted to like Le Fanfare, but it just didn't hold up. I came for lunch on Sunday around 1:45pm with a reservation. The ambiance did not do it for me. I don't know if it was just because I was tired, but the music was so loud it was giving me a headache. I couldn't hear the person I came with unless we leaned in towards each other or yelled. Sorry, but Sunday afternoon is not the time to blast music. I know this seems like such a personal problem but I feel like having a calming atmosphere is the vibe if its not Friday night! Unfortunately the service and the food were also meh. The service was slow despite it not being busy at all, the food took a long time to come out as well. We waited 40 minutes from the time we sat down to the time we got our food. I got the cacio e pepe and my boyfriend got the carbonara. Mine wasn't great, I know cacio e pepe is very basic but I've had some amazing cacio e pepe at other restaurants. The flavor was just off and I'm not sure why. It was fine though. My boyfriend said his carbonara tasted like salt and did not enjoy it at all. It's near his place, so I'm disappointed that we didn't find a neighborhood classic. Im sure this is great for others! Shredded Brussels sprouts and nice light flavor 4/5 Carbonara and Short Rib on Palenta were lowlights. Short rib is a bit of Smokey bbq flavor and a bit dry. I have been to Le Fanfare a few times, both pre- and post-pandemic. I most recently went on Sunday with a group of 4. The restaurant is very cute, somewhat narrow and very long with many communal tables, with a small backyard / patio area. There is also often live music, which is set up near the back, by the backyard. Service here is good. The meal comes with homemade focaccia and chickpea dip. I have tried the following dishes: Burrata (4/5): This is a tasty burrata that comes with seasonal vegetables. It is a nice, shareable dish. Roasted Asparagus (3.5/5): I thought this was okay. The egg was done nicely, with a creamy yolk. The asparagus itself was on the oilier side, so I enjoyed it less. Spaghetti Neri (4.5/5): Very tasty spaghetti, topped with an ample amount of mussels, and bottarga. The portion size is good, with enough to take home for a small meal later. The pasta was well-cooked and rich. I really enjoyed it. Trofie Pesto (4/5): I have had this as a $10 pasta special (not sure if they're still doing this, but I hope so!). The burrata came with sweet potato, a crispy cracker, pine nuts, and pesto sauce. We got the squid ink pasta, carbonara, duck, and special of the night was lamb ragu. The squid ink pasta was so good!! There were so many mussels in it and the sauce was so flavorful. The duck was tender, funghi was cooked perfectly tender, and the pasta was al dente which we love! The lamb ragu felt like it was cooking for days and the pasta coated in the red sauce was chefs kiss yummy. The carbonara was the okay but we wouldn't order this again. Mussels in tomato sauce w/ guanciale: two thumbs up so delish Tagliatelle lamb ragu: fresh house made pasta was cooked perfectly and I love a good lamb ragu Short ribs: oh so tender and juicy Broccoli rabe: cooked well, had that nice little crunch but not too hard or undercooked. This is our second visit to Le Fanfare and again, we loved it! We went before covid and had a lovely dinner with super attentive service and have been meaning to go back. We finally did for brunch today. They have private greenhouses in the back garden area and despite all the challenges COVID has brought for restaurants they didn't miss a beat. Very attentive and friendly service. I got the margarita is hot cocktail (x3) and loved it! It wasn't as spicy as the description led me to believe but it had the right amount of kick that most "spicy margs" don't have. My partner got 2 bloody marys - they were so fresh and tasty. I went with some friends for a dinner and a show. The menu was set: an app, entrée and dessert. Drinks were provided by Coney Island Beer. The asparagus was tender and I liked the mustard sauce. Cacio de Pepe was good and I liked the sharp Pecorino cheese. The house-made strozzapreti was wonderful al dente and soaked up the buttery pepper sauce. The Tiramisu was adorable and fluffy. The space was perfect for a band, Salt Cathedral. There was a beautiful gold corner where the band performed. The music resonated perfectly and the speakers helped. LeFanFare is a fabulous neighborhood little gem in Greenpoint Brooklyn. It serves Italian cuisine but the taste is certainly not typical and more on the line of fine dining. Nothing is over spiced and the fruits and vegetables are all fresh from the market. Their pastas are delicious and I love the appetizer of fresh buffalo mozzarella with beets, also a very popular dish is the grilled squid. The service is impeccable and everyone is friendly and makes you feel welcome. The restaurant also takes seriously anyone with allergies, vegans or vegetarians And are willing to always accommodate. The bartender seems to constantly make new drinks for the menu that are delicious with beautiful presentation. I've also eaten at the bar a few times and I absolutely love it it's as good or better than sitting in one of their boots or communal tables. On Sundays they have live music and the regular musician is named Felix who is absolutely unbelievable! He plays the guitar and harmonica and sings old blues music. During the week they have a great mix of music that plays. They have an outdoor section so get reservations early because it can get jampacked when the weather is warm. I 100% Pure Love recommend this restaurant. They also are open for brunch on Saturday and Sunday and every day for dinner during the week. read more
