Cute little restaurant on Manhattan Ave that serves farm-to-table. It has a warm/rustic interior with adorable little lights. On a Saturday afternoon, we decided to try our luck walking into this neighborhood gem. We were seated outdoors within couple of minutes. Fiancé and I ordered the short rib sandwich and the hanger steak to share with rosemary potatoes. Both entrees were delicious. I loved the fact that the menu included the name of the farms where the produce/meat were locally sourced from. Overall great experience, the server even checked in couple of times. A really cute spot in Greenpoint. They have a nice interior and lovely outdoor seating. They take reservations through Resy, which I really like - helps you avoid waiting in a long line, which becomes more and more common in Greenpoint. I made a reservation for outdoor seating but the weather changed that evening and it was about to rain so they texted me to offer a table inside, which was very nice! The service was great. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the burrata for the table and I ordered Cacio e Pepe. The food was really good. The buratta came with tomatoes and pesto and all was fresh and tasty. The pasta was a little too thick for me but tasted well! Overall, a really great dinner spot. read more

Great spot! came here to celebrate a birthday brunch. shout outs to the cocktails which were great especially the gin and thyme. I also recommend the polenta and the stuffed French toast, the latter was outstanding! we also got the salted chocolate tart which comes with a candle in it :) Service was a little slow but we got Seated quickly on the wait staff was accommodating and helpful. They did forget a couple of our requests but nothing big, and we were brought what we requested as soon as they were reminded. I think the kitchen was just busy that night. The space is pretty clean and chic looking. They have a patio in the back but it was raining when we went there so we couldn't go and see it. They have a good variety of table sizes and there were a couple of more birthday celebrations there while we were visiting. I really wanted pasta before leaving NYC after a whirlwind trip. Thankfully Le Fanfare was a short block from my hotel. The atmosphere is great for such a small place - but it could really use some help with acoustics. There was a group sitting a few tables from me and I could hear every shrill word coming from their drunk ramblings. Not fun, but not really the restaurants fault - it is a small space. I got the MALLOREDDUS and, overall, it was good. My only caveat is that it need just a bit a salt to really bring out the flavors, but no one came to my table after I got my food until it was nearly gone to ask for the salt. It's weird because even the sausage wasn't salty which if it had been it would have helped elevate the rest of the flavors. I don't use salt to taste salt but to bring out the flavors more and this dish could have used a dash or two. Serving size was decent and when I did interact with staff they were very nice. read more

We decided to grab dinner here on a weekday in the winter. We had made a reservation before and the restaurant was great in confirming our reservation and seating is once we had both arrived. The restaurant itself is quaint with hints or a farm-to-table atmosphere. For larger parties they offer booth like seating which gives for a more intimate dining experience. Once we were seated we were given menus and complimentary bread. When it came time to order we decided on the tagliatelle and the bucatini. These dishes were perfect sizes to share so keep that in mind when ordering! Overall we had a really great time dining here. Flavors are divine: it sits on a bed of frisee, celery and thin slices of fingerling potatoes dressed with a lemony olive dressing. Asparagus--well-executed. It comes with a soft-boiled egg that will put any other soft-boiled egg to shame. Squid ink pasta--the best I've had in the city. Don't even know how to describe it. Broccoli rabe--my husband's choice. I generally avoid it because it tends to be bitter. This dish comes with raisins--so if that's not your cup of tea, avoid. Papardelle with duck, mushrooms and grana padana cheese. I ordered it because I love this cheese; could have used more of it in the dish, but otherwise delicious! The pasta is clearly freshly made and just amazing. Get the Tiramisu. For drinks, we got the following, all of them really really really good. We were staying at an airbnb around the corner from here and we're looking for a place to have dinner before leaving. We saw this cute place. We had a drink before dinner. Both were well crafted and delicious. Then we had the octopfor appetizer, it was soyummy, slightly on the salty side, a little more potato would have balanced it better. Then for dinner the duck papardelle and the carbonara. Both so yummy. The pasta was perfectly cooked. Then the panna cotta for dessert. All, so yummy. We would definitely go again. Just ate there and was very disappointed with their deception. Sign outside their restaurant and their website/menu clearly said happy hour cocktails were $12, wine $9 and beer $6. We ordered one of each plus $130 of food and when bill came I was charged $18, $13 and $12 respectively. When I questioned it they said the happy hour price was only for a specific cocktail, specific wine and specific beer and I should have asked the waitress about that before ordering. All their cocktails were the same price, all their wines were the same price and all their beers were the same price. Why should I assume the happy hour price would only apply to one cocktail, the Chablis and the Peroni??? Also, shame on them for not acknowledging their deception and not honoring their published happy hour price! read more

Casual warm but somewhat minimalist rectangular space. Sincere smiles from all staff are delivered throughout your experience. There are Booths and long communal tables. Nobody is bumping elbows (this is always key - only Spotted Pig gets away with this in recent memory) -- ample space and comfort. Pasta noodles are almost all made in-house and that's part of the love present in these savory plates. Cannolis were delightfully crisp, sprinkled with pistachios and oozing with goodness not too sweet...I almost asked for another one. The service was completely on point, gracious, attentive. We've frequented Le Fanfare on many occasions, but for some reason, this is the first time I've gotten around to reviewing the place. Needless to say, a review is long overdue - this place is great. Classy neighborhood bar & restaurant at the end of Manhattan Ave - it's an absolute pleasure to pop into whenever in the area. From the staff to the food to the cocktails... perfecto! Everything is fresh & well crafted - this place is spot on & cozy as heck. Oh, and if you enjoy gin (and rosemary), try the Gin Fizz... it's a must, every visit. This place made my night. The cocktails were tasty and well made. The dishes were new, creative and delicious. We started the night off with a runs of cocktails - thyme margarita and negori. They ordered the octopus and meatballs to start the night. There were amazing. For entrees, I went for the pork loin (only two pieces) which has the most flavorful polenta ever! went for an adult birthday brunch. ambiance was quite loud - it was like a chuck-e cheese, so many loud tables with babies and toddlers Running loose, banging cutlery etc I had brunch here a few months prior that was excellent. ordered the same dish this time around - the steak and eggs- and it was so salty it was inedible. Seemed to be marinated in some kind of soy sauce and it bled into the eggs and potatoes as well. I hate to say this but it was honestly gross. I also ordered it medium and it Came out pretty much well done. The server passed by our table once to ask how food was, but only looked at my dining companion and swiftly moved on. she didn't ask any questions when she collected my barely touched plate with the entire steak still in it, and at that point I was too frustrated to bother. Drinks service was prompt, the only saving grace of the meal. will sadly not be returning anytime soon- another neighborhood restaurant where the prices are shooting up while the quality is going down. Greenpoint is our new most favorite area in Brooklyn. It's like Williamsburg but without all that hipster crap that everyone hates... Anywho, so we found ourselves in Greenpoint on a Monday evening, tired and hungry. We followed the recommendations of our fellow Yelpers and ended up at Le Fanfare. Once again, great choice guys! We thought we had made a mistake at first because things seemed a tad unorganized and we had to sit at the end of a long community table when there were clearly other seats available. But the restaurant filled up pretty quickly so we understood why we were sent to the back of the bus. No worries... Our meatball starter was cool- fine, even... But the party really started with our pasta dishes. We had the sweet potato agnolotti and the duck pappardelle. Excellent! You know how it is when you get perfectly prepared, handmade pasta? Yeah- it was like that... This place is extremely underrated. Weekends there are live bands, the restaurant is hipster yet romantic, and the food is wonderful! Everything about this place is perfect for a date night. It's never too crowded due to the underratedness, and it is very intimate. They also have a back yard area with hanging lights and white tables and flowers. Super cute. The servers are also really friendly, and they catered to my boyfriend and I when we wanted to move inside. I loved my experience here. Overall opinion - The apps were better than the mains. Went here on a Friday night - group of 6. All of the apps we split were the best part of the meal. The bread they bring out before dinner is amazing too. Main dishes were hit or miss all around. I ordered the pork rib dish pictured and would not order again, although I did like the polenta . It was hard to eat around the little bones with there being a soupy texture to the rest of the meal. Everyone that got pasta was happier with their choice. Very friendly wait staff and quality Italian. We had to sit in the front due to the pandemic, so I can't speak much to the ambiance. The tomato broth of the mussels appetizer was delicious and fun to dip with. The octopus was well-cooked, but small-ish portions, as expected with octopus. The salad beneath it wasn't anything all too special. The Spaghetti Neri was not as special as I was hoping, given the squid ink involved. Butttt, I was a bit fan of the Spaghetti Alla Carbonara, especially the bits of guanciale throughout, nice touch of pepper, and, of course, Parmesan cheese. This and the mussel apps were my favorite. The pastas were all pretty fair portions, which I appreciated. All in all, a cute local spot worth it but a somewhat nicer night out as a local. read more

Food sorta good; experience terrible for a large party. Booked the event 2 months before. Agreed on a price and agreed there would be a menu for everyone to choose from. Right before the event, the Le Fanfare said there's no dessert included and that the event would be family style--they changed the format of events after the event was booked. Event manager backtracked and said the event would be the format as it was booked. On the day of, they prevented us from entering until after the event start time, instead of being allowed to come early to decorate. Then, was told we needed to leave the space In an hour and a half, but the entrees didn't come out until 2 hours after the start time. Things happen, totally get that. Happy to be flexible, but what made this a terrible experience is the nastiness of the manager and some staff. Staff started moving our decorations and belongings, didn't ask, walked up and announced "I'm moving this to the front." How dare you touch personal property of customers without asking? Beyond rude. "I didn't know this party was scheduled for today." Like that's our fault? Was booked 2 months before, and confirmed the reservation many times, even the morning of. "Look at the coaster" (with an eye roll, implying the menu qr code is on there) ... Cant bother to be professional? Downright nasty attitude. Chill out with the eye rolls though, your eyes will stay that way. "Your guests showed up late so the food is coming out late" total BS!!! Food being 2 hours late has nothing to do with 2 guests (out of 15) being 25 minutes late! Being unapologetic about switching to a family style format instead of a prefix menu, is a bad move. "Your party has to leave at 2:30" but entrees came out at 3:10... Also, we had the event until 3. Total unprofessional behavior. Reservation was for 1; a few things were on the table; salad came out at 2:20; entree came out at 3:10. If your kitchen cant serve food for the reservation that was made 2 months ago, don't blame your paying customers. Steak came out rare. Wasn't asked how it should be cooked. Also, good job serving the rare steak to the expecting mom at a baby shower. Jerks. A 1 star on Yelp should be reserved for exceptionally poor experiences; ours was exactly that. read more

I'll start by saying it took nearly 3 hours to get our food. The service was incredibly slow and we watched multiple parties seated way after us get their food before us and leave before we even got our appetizers. We got the shishito peppers and broccoli rabe to start and they were both awful. The shishito peppers were so spicy the entire group was almost in tears - they were inedible. The broccoli rabe was very bitter and tasted almost rotten. We had a couple bites of both and the staff didn't say anything. We finally got our main pastas (there were 5 of us) and they were just okay. You could tell the pasta itself was homemade and good but the sauces were lacking flavor entirely, especially the alla Amatriciana. Overall, would not recommend this place. There are so many great Italian places in Greenpoint that have infinitely better service and much better tasting food. read more

I came here for brunch on a Sunday. It's a bit out of the way since the closest station is Greenpoint Ave (last stop in Brooklyn on the G train). We ordered the only pasta dishes on the brunch menu - spaghetti carbonara with pancetta and malloreddus (Sardinian gnocchi) with sausage. We ordered their pastas since it's an Italian restaurant so the pasta should be good right? However, both dishes were bland and the spaghetti was not really spaghetti - the noodles were flat and was more like ramen in texture. In fact, the noodles looked grayish in color which really wasn't appealing at all. They provided a pepper mill so I definitely added it to both pastas. The portion size was fine but the food was not tasty or appetizing. The service is good so the 3 stars are really just for the service. We booked Le Fanfare for our wedding reception last December (around 30 guests) and the whole experience had been amazing. Nico was very accommodating to our requests and patiently answered all our questions (mind you, we had sooo many!). Since we didn't hire a stylist, their regular holiday design worked! We just asked them to lay down a bunch of fairy lights, name cards, and Christmas picks (all of which we provided along with our instructions on how it should look) and they followed it to the T - everything looked how we wanted it to. They even printed menus for the event! Food and drink-wise, absolutely everyone loved it! The guests raved about literally everything. We had: Starters - Burrata, Roasted Asparagus, Meatballs Mains - Spaghetti Neri, Hanger Steak, Market Fish, Cacio e Pepe Sides - Duckfat Roasted Potatoes, Roasted Cauliflower Desserts - Panna Cotta and Tiramisu Carlos and the rest of the crew were very attentive and accommodating. We didn't even plan when the cake cutting and champagne toast will be done but Carlos was so on top of everything that it was suddenly there. LOL!
