Where to start...I have missed quite a few (very good) updates meantime I know...but anyway, a couple of months ago, we were walking past and there was a whole lot of decorating going on
Aha we thought, another change in ownership...we stopped and chatted to the new owner - nice chap - we will be open Friday he said...drinks Thrusday
We went for a drink - clearly not may people were aware of it being open that evening but it was nice
I went Friday - the menu was severely restricted - just a few dishes that I had no interest in so I just had a starter and a dessert...meanwhile it was jam packed and while I was there 2 tables, at least 7 people got up and left...it was chaos...they couldn't produce the food quickly enough, they couldn't clear away...there was 1 chef, the boss and 1 helper. I don't think they realised just how many people go there at lunchtime. They didn't seem to know how to use the machine to pay
I gave it another chance the following week - I played safe and ordered the burger, well done, no egg. It was always pretty good but they managed to ruin it...it was charred, the bacon was at best ok, the bun was dry and fell apart, the chips were great...but I would never order it again

We resolved to go for a drink one evening and see how they were getting on - they are now open for drinks every evening with a few plats available...more to come in April
