Passed this restaurant while shopping in the area. Saw they had a happy hour through the evening and decided to come back to spend some time until dinner. Really enjoyed out cocktails! The violet Collins was my favorite. Service was slightly slow at first but it was fine.
Solid, neighborhood place with good food and friendly service. The interior is classic - tiled floors, a standing-only bar, too-tiny tables and a nice terrace for good weather days. Sadly, it was pissing rain so we sat indoors for dinner. Note that previous reviews mention a good value formule - that is GONE. Prices are pretty reasonable but definitely don't go in expecting a formule at dinner. I started with their house made pate (country style) and it was pretty lackluster - overall a lack of seasoning and too coarse of a grind on the blend. Meh - skip this. My friend had a nice salad which was a far better option, For mains, I went with a nightly special of roasted chicken and gratin potatoes. Yum, yum, yum! Well roasted chicken with nice crisp skin, a flavorful and well seasoned pan sauce and my very favorite kind of creamy potatoes. My friend stuck with an entrecôte which was served with a smashing an poivre sauce. Really, really good! We ate far too much to consider dessert but we did drink a bunch of wine. Overall, the bill was quite reasonable. Our server was honestly the nicest guy - he gave us a list of his favorite local places which was really kind. If you want a solid "classic French bistro" meal, Au Bouquet will do you right.
We found ourselves wandering around after visiting the Centre Pompidou. We passed a number of cafes, but some just didn't call to me until we passed here. It was probably the warm smile and "Bonjour" from the woman who would be serving us. We ordered a bottle of wine and a cheese and sausage plate. We didn't want to spoil our dinner...LOL! Great selection of cheeses and meats and large enough for two more people. We sat inside, but still managed to see people walking on the street through these large open windows. It was a pleasant afternoon for wine, cheese, and conversation. We also had cappuccinos which were brewed perfectly. This is a great place to spend some leisurely time people watching. I will definitely be back.
Nice lunch specials that change daily, look for the little black board with them hand written for the day. It will come with your choice of two things, the main course and desert or the main course and appetizer. And usually they are able to tell you in English what they are. They also have another larger menu of items sure to please anyone, and that also will be in English if you ask. You can sit outside facing the busy street or inside, I prefer sitting inside because its pretty noisy and lots of traffic on that stretch of road. A good value in the Saint-Paul area, with consistently good food.
Very good prices for a Paris cafe. Had breakfast here with two others and everything tasted great. I have a cafe creme (which is coffee with some milk added), shared a nutella crepe, and a omelette with ham and cheese. They gave some little pieces of bread to accompany our dishes. Everything tasted fresh. Service is just okay, but didn't expect much more. Sidewalk seating is preferred and good for people watching. I was satisfied and left happy and full.
The staff spoke English, friendly and engaging. Looks like they have a crowd of regulars, drinking and singing along. Outdoor and indoor seating available. I had the French onion and beef stew. French onion, too much cheese was added to the top. Beef stew was good but potatoes were clearly prepared differently.
Although I have lived in this neighborhood for over 5 years and walked by many many times I had never stopped in for a meal. Huge mistake! The food is amazing. I ordered thé Cesar salad. It is a complete meal on one plate. My salad arrived promptly with a perfectly crispy chicken breast atop a bed well dressed romaine with ample amounts of cherry tomatoes, lardons, and shaved Parmesan cheese. It also comes with a hard boiled egg garnish and if course a basket of sliced baguette. The service is very good as well. This is my new go to spot in the neighborhood from now on
The service we was excellent! The steak and frites were just ok. The steak needed more flavor/salt and pepper. Unless a steak is absolutely amazing it needs a lot of salt and pepper. Fish had quite a few bones in it. We did love the French onion soup and the coffee drinks.
This place has quickly become my go to restaurant in my neighborhood. It is not only close but you can count on having a good piece of meat at a great price. The revolving specials are usually good but even when nothing sounded appetizing, the regular menu has consistently good dishes. We have been here around 5 times for dinner so far and have yet to have a bad experience.
It is a cafe i return to every time I visit Paris. The food is always good and the staff is always attentive and helpful. One of my favorite dishes is the grilled eggplant with smoked duck and goat cheese, an amazing combination of flavors and a wonderful presentation. I prefer places where I can ask for a recommendation for food and wine, the waiters really care and take pride. Also great value for price.
Phenomenal food. I had the goat cheese salad. My husband had ravioli which was decadent, melt in your mouth good. My son had a chicken burger. Very cute, authentic decor.
With a convenient and pleasant location and friendly and accommodating staff, this restaurant was an excellent find. The wall tiles are reminiscent of the Metro and there is a constant clinking of glasses at the bar, creating a cozy and lively ambience. And of course, the food. The French Onion Soup, below a helpful serving of warm and savory cheese, is full of flavor. The bread has soaked up much soup but is still intact and dripping with flavor. Worst part of the dish was diving in too fast and almost burning my tongue on a piece of melt-in-your-mouth onion. Delicious! The Skirt Steak with Pepper Sauce was amazingly tender and absolutely juicy and delicious without the sauce. The pepper sauce was less amazing but also worthy of mention. But the best part was how the pepper sauce brought out even more flavor from the meat. A wonderful meal! Overall, highly recommended!

The service is superb (especially the tall guy with the tattoos), and the food is to die for. I recommend the Lamb or ravioli (vegetarian dish) for dinner and the Baba au Rhum for desert. When in Paris, eat here. It does not disappoint.
Ehhhhh. That's really what I'll say. There was on server who was running around trying to do way too much for this place: drinks, taking orders, clearing tables, and everything felt backed up. The duck confit was incredibly dry. The steak wasn't well seasoned. It was just a miss all around. There are plenty of other places in Paris to spend your Euro and time. Not here. read more

Unassuming and quiet bistro on the corner of a busy street. Super friendly staff, always make you feel welcome. Our host brought us an English menu which we have found to be quite rare. Food is decent. read more

My husband and I had a wonderful breakfast at this cafe. It was a ham and cheese omelet and it was outstanding! The cappuccino was one of the best I've had on a European trip that started in Italy. Also loved the freshly squeezed orange juice. The waiter was extremely friendly and happy to speak English. It was amazing how hard he was working to bus tables, serve, and seat guests and he had a fantastic attitude. I highly recommend this place... And if you are homesick for a burger they have that as well. read more
